  1. Can something other than warped discs cause this? Seemed I was coming to a stop, lightly applying the brakes, and this started but a few stops later it was gone.... weird. The brakes don't pump up like you get normally when there's air in the lines.
  2. Well at least a back license plate... and the all important SB100 smog exempt tag. It only took a year.... I got a personized plate coming with a version of "power to weight" Let the games begin!
  3. I got mine from edgeracing but the site isn't opening for me right now. Their 5zigen but the exact ones I got may be discontinued but these look the same: http://www.5zigenusa.com/english/products/wheel/proracer/fn01rchot.html

    Being Watched ?

I belong to a motorcycle site made up of mostly those in England. They have cameras everywhere... sometimes in nonmarked vans. Now their government wants to link cameras together so they can get average speed of a driver between the little towns. Needless to say, they are not pleased.
  5. Congrats! Gots to feel great being so close to on the road.
  6. Good luck, looks like a great car! Reminds me of WCM's S2K... engine offset, independent suspension.. hard to tell but it looks a little smaller. Didn't see a price for the kit, just the motor options. I know it said it's a lot of Ford parts but don't know how that relates to American Ford (nowadays, with the internet don't know if it's an issue) but the Stalker and WCM are made of parts readily available here. I think the new Fulcrum looks awesome too (just a little more rollbar please)!
  7. nicely done! I like the hood cut out too
  8. Haven't gotten on it much.... but tire pressure does make a big difference that you can really feel (even for an amateur like me). I thought the car was too skittish for me until I reduced the pressures and made sure the alignment was good. Now me likey bery mucho! I'm sure it's overkill on the rear (275s with stock motor) but I can break them loose, in 2nd gear, on tight turns while stabbing the throttle (not the smartest thing but kind of fun). Like I said, haven't really gotten to the track where you can really feel the under/oversteer. But I have a very balanced car now so I'm hoping to just adjust pressures to get it to my liking (whatever that turns out to be). You might PM WestTexasS2K about spring rates etc... if your really serious about track use. He and Kevin have a lot of experience.
  9. I've actually been on the list for one of these for quite some time and am up pretty high. But I've changed my mind and went with solar panels on the house (which would actually make driving this car free if I had more money). http://www.aptera.com/look.php
  10. I just did mine (S2K) a couple weeks ago... car weighs 1450lbs with 3/4 tank. We got 50.00% front/rear with me in it... less than 3lbs difference side to side. The guy at the race shop was really impressed! The sad part is I can't tell how it handles because I've only taken one little shake down ride in the foothills last weekend.... haven't pushed it yet.
  11. I took Loren's (West Texas) advice and it was spot on: 17x8 & 17X9 - 35mm in front & 43mm in rear .. 225/45 & 275/40 Falken rt615s
  12. fantastic pics... I''ve always admired those brochure type pics that make the interiors look so warm and rich. Like the one of Travis too!
  13. I didn't know that as I've done several track days with my old sportbike.... thought there was only one SNELL test. Hmmm, now I may really have to look into a serious helmet (instead of just for looks and sound protection)
  14. I wish I was half as good at drifting a car out like that... awesome!
  15. too flamboyant?.... probably so, I was looking at the Schubert R1 because I like the tinted visor idea and came across these Maybe it's my military backround and the fact my son thought they were cool....
  16. I have a nice full face Shoei motorcycle helmet that's race approved but was looking for something a bit different and opened faced for the car and found these.... maybe a bit too over the top but I think they're kind of cool; especially the orange or stealth titanium. Plus, optional mask when really cold. I like the built in tinted visor too! http://www.gazbikes.co.uk/shop/osbe-tornado-jet-helmet-titanium-sand-pi-1945.html?image=0 http://www.gazbikes.co.uk/shop/osbe-tornado-top-gun-mask-pi-8254.html?image=0 We do go on a lot of low altitude recon missions....
  17. Slingshot, Still working on that? I think it will be great to see other's cars and events etc... I like the upgrades.
  18. Have you checked the "cars for sale" section? There's some nice cars there and you can get an idea of prices. I'm kind of partial to that nice S2K...
  19. No, not the 2009 Inaugeration.... but the ability to zoom in on a face from so far away http://gigapan.org/viewGigapanFullscreen.php?auth=033ef14483ee899496648c2b4b06233c
  20. Not so much due to the weather (benefit of California) but just getting everything sorted. Wildflowers are coming out too!
  21. sweeet!
  22. It takes more than gooping up a sheet of aluminum and slapping it on due to the finned oil pan (see the pics of what it took) . In the foothills around here it's not unusual to have little rock slides and have rocks around the size of your fist, or bigger, in the roadway as you come around the bend. I wanted to deflect those too. I guess I could of cut the bottom of my oilpan out and bonded a plate that had a 45 degree angle in front of the oil pan.... seems more work than what I had done.
  23. recent convert here....
  24. That's the picture that convinced me to get one made.... they're sort of "Mad Max" built but makes for one less thing to worry about.
  25. Mine angle up at the rear to avoid that problem backing up as well.
