  1. I think that exhaust makes your car look really clean (nothing down both sides). Sounded pretty good when I heard that Ebay video... I don't know about how restrictive it is. But if possible I'd keep that route, especially if it's only going to make a couple HP difference. I wish I had that option.
  2. They make an awesome sportbike... 675cc triple cylinder I had the 2002 Daytona 955i triple cylinder sport bike. Very nice and competitive with the Yamaha R1 of the same year (except about 30lbs heavier). It was actually very reliable, no problems or leaks. The problem was the next year the Japanese bikes went up about 30 horsepower and Triumph didn't respond (mine was 147hp). I lightened the bike, revalved/resprung the suspension and had an underseat exhaust that sounded awesome with the triple cylinder motor. But that want for more horsepower was calling. Last year I decided it was either a dedicated track bike, a new Ducati 1098s, or a fast car to play with. Well, the track bike would sit too much, the Ducati would always have me worrying about dropping it (my reflexes aren't the same as I'm not getting any younger..) so I started looking at cars and saw the 7s. Brian's finishing off my ultralite and should be getting a call to pick it up any day now. Can't wait!

    k.o 7 Spider

I think the coupe looks better. Don't know why electric cars have to cost so much... http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/car/3632/k.o-8-Coupe.html
  5. very nice!
  6. I was looking at this for the side pipe http://www.koolmat.com/side-exhaust.shtml This is some expensive stuff... http://www.koolmat.com/heatmast.shtml
  7. Never thought of it before..... having some kind of automatic adjustments based on speed and turning of the steering wheel would be the ultimate. Imagine F1 does that, if allowed.
  8. check these sites out http://www.classicgoggles.com/goggles/merchant.mv? http://www.cglasses.com/index.html
  9. Welcome haiku88, I have a very similar history, having motorcycles my whole life and living to tell the tale. The new sportbikes are just too easy to ride fast:iagree: Taking delivery of an ultralite soon and hope to still find that same excitement and not freak out like I did dodging a spot of dirt on the road with my knee close to the ground.....
  10. awesome plane.. we had one of the stealth fighters crash near here in the 80s, before they admitted they had stealth fighters:o
  11. Man... anyone interested in a 7 ought to check that out quick!
  12. Except for the wheels, his asking price is probably pretty close to what he paid for it new (if he bought it turnkey). I'm going an inch wider (not taller) on the rear of mine too; 17/9 inch.... pretty much for looks (or in preparation for supercharger:reddevil: ) If he would of sold last summer I probably would of seriously bid on it. Hopefully we'll have a new member soon:thumbs: .
  13. Well at least after all that work, now you can say you built it ... wouldn't say it was a turnkey;) Like I said before, your car on Ebay was the one that got me looking into 7s, and after all is said and done, I will be picking up my black S2K from Brian in 2 weeks. Glad you've found solutions to everything, that ECU stuff scares me....
  14. Should have no problem, looks very nice. It's kind of funny that they all look pretty close but we definitely have our favorites/must haves. Good luck with the S1.
  15. It has a round steering wheel and doesn't even have the red light scrolling across the hood
  16. Yeah, he should of made 2 of everything while he was at it. That way he could drive one and stare at the other:cheers: Or just paint your car with this and you'll just like it: http://www.innate.com/Paint/Chrome/Chrome.htm
  17. I think he was selling a custom tow vehicle to go with it as well (doubt it's included in that price)
  18. Lets see, we spent our way into this problem and the answer is to spend our way out of it? We all are going to bite the bullet sooner or later with this mess. Seems no one wants to take financial responsibiity and take the bull by the horns.... It's not as simple as cutting taxes either. It needs a combination of sacrifice. But, oh yeah, it's an election year
  19. If your serious, can't beat the price to have one stashed... http://www.motodirect.com/servlet/Categories?category=Street+Apparel%3ARain+Suits&gclid=CIy904__rZECFRUmawodYnUOeg rainsuits for $35

    nice superbowl

    Finally a nailbiter:cheers:
  21. I'm crossing my fingers.... this is the most money I've ever spent with the least info I've had a Triumph TR6 and completely rebuilt a Lotus Europa (rewired it to get rid of the Lucas wiring and made custom dash etc...). I saw the 7s at lotus meets but thought they were a little too bare and kind of funky looking (really wanted an Elan). Then came house, family... This was in the late 80s. Planned a GT40 kit for a while but the pricing really went up the last few years and I couldn't afford it. Then I saw a black S2K on Ebay and I really liked the look of it. Found it came with a 240hp Honda (power & reliabilty) and it was a little bit bigger than the Caterham (4in wider). It was also about half the GT40 cost.. Since I've gotten older I'm less into building and more into driving so it's being built. Nice to just pick colors, accesories etc and have it done. I haven't driven one or actually seen one in person. Big leap of faith... But I've talked to some owners and had some modifications that they recommended done. I'm coming off sportbikes (it's only a matter of time before the big getoff) so I figure this is the closest thing with 4 wheels:reddevil: I do agree with Al that if there would of been one for sale already registered in California I probably would of bought it. 2 out of 3 of us got the SB100 smog exemption this year.... I was the odd man out:cry: . So now I'll have to look at my options once it's here. I'm not usually this impulsive but it's my retirement gift to myself and it can go to just track days for a while if necessary (I live near 2). Actually coming to this site and reading all your comments has made me more comfortable with my decision too. Wish me luck
  22. Some of us were planning on going May 10 as that was a "British Day"....
  23. Yeah, I saw where they were pretty unmerciful on the ford mustang...... can't see that happening here.
  24. I don't know yet... waiting for the car before I see the ref as I told the DMV that it was already here (they wouldn't let me try for the cert without the car being here.
  25. No wienermobile but should be getting the S2k in a few weeks.... didn't get the SB100 cert but hope to get a few more registration extensions (those little red numbered papers you put in the window..) so I can drive around until next year. Otherwise it'll be my lowered G35coupe
