Yippi..... I'd drive it... If the police could ever catch you, They would take one look at this thing and call for the guys in the white coats and a new jacket for you. Cheers 7evin

Found it. If anyone else is looking for something like this check out Pilot 4 button flat panel switch. http://pilotautomotive.com/catalog.html I did not like the looks of the switch setup it came with so I just cut the connector off and solder my own wires on. Cheers 7evin

Great idea, Maybe have a 4th O-shit maximum pressure/ I have waited to late to brake switch that fires an injector connected to the exhaust so you can blow flames. Now that would get the attention of any one tail gating you. The possabilities are endless. :) Cheers K

I would love too. I'm making a quick trip down in June. Our racing schedule this year is completely nuts.... It might have to be fall. I am looking for a latching circuit or a mechanical latching relay so I only have to use one push button momentary switch to turn the electric fan on and off. Does anyone have a source? I do not want to use the 4 relay setup. Not enough room in a 7 for banks of relays. I would love to find a solid state unit that has 4 or 5 inputs and outputs. Or relay/mechanical switch. Cheers K

Bob, Check out Watson's Street Works. www.watsons-streetworks.com They have some pretty slick stuff Loren is asleep at the moment. Here is a pic with them on. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/757039470_Resized_pics 119.jpg Cheers K

Hey, how come I don't know about plan B ??? K

We rhino lined the interior of the car and put the lizard skin in the engine compartment. We shall see. We are also looking at heat reflective material. Go easy with linex the weight adds up quick. We put a very thin layer on. Not a big deal if you are not racing and trying save every ounce. Cheers Kevin

Hey Bob, I do not have the info in front of me. I will look it up once we have the car ready to be tuned. WestTex is cracking the whip on me to produce, so I'll do it later. Cheers Kevin

That is not 400 lbs per wing, that is combined down force between the 2 wings. 178 lbs front/ 229 lbs rear, Duel element w/ nearly 800 sq in. of surface. The max AOA on these wings is 40 degrees without creating a stall condition. Of course at that AOA we are talking about a significant amount of drag and turbulence over the car. But you don't love a 7 because of its aerodynamics. Even the Atom has very poor aero. Because of the hp of the car drag is not as much of a concern as down force Last year at Road Atlanta we turned 175 down the back stretch before cresting the hill and heading into turn 10a. At that speed the car is nearly impossible to keep planted and under control. This year we thought it would be wise to beef up the roll cage and wing it to try and keep it attached to the planet. If you run the numbers (800 sq in) on a piece of 1/2 inch plywood at 120 mph @ 40 degrees AOA you would be surprised at the results. Here is some thing new we are trying to reduce heat in the cockpit. Its called Lizard Skin. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1991105981_Resized_DSCN6347.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1280113863_Resized_DSCN6349.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/597604015_Resized_DSCN6351.jpg Its a Spray-on Ceramic Insulation and Sound Control # Reduce engine and solar heat transfer by 25-30 degrees or more (we are hoping for more) # Reduce noise by 10-12 decibels or more # Protect surfaces from moisture and corrosion # Withstand temperatures to 500° F. (260° C.) We'll see. We have also used spray in foam insulation (tiger Foam) to try and get the heat down. We will keep you informed if any one is interested. Cheers Kevin

Hey Guys, I will not be able to make it, been chained to the car till it is track ready. Its sleeting here in TX today.... Make my miss GA weather..... Cheers Kevin Maybe next meeting.

Here is the web site for the wings. http://www.aprperformance.com/ http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/626101939_CS-105502.jpg They make them in both carbon fiber and aluminum. With the wing configuration we have selected they claim at 120 mph we can generate 400+ lbs of down force. depending on AOA of course. We would like to drive the AOA (angle of attack) electrically so at low speeds we have a high AOA and at high speeds we trim it out and have less drag. Then of course blow it to max AOA under braking and cornering for max down force. Cheers Kevin

Calling all Georgia Seven owners (and enthusiasts)!

Got it, Will contact those worthless scoundrels about this issue today. Thanks for the alert and the clarification Cheers Kevin http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/278022317_g34.gif -
Hey guys, Let me know what date you are considering. I will be out of town for approx 10 days starting the 15th. Headed to Tx to put the new car together. If any of you are interested we will have a MOJO up for sale first of next month. For pix and video go to www.organicracing.com Cheers Kevin

My first car was a Porsche 914/4.... I still have it..... I don't how it survived me or me it.... I'm sure I would not be here to talk about it if it would have had 500 hp...... It amazes me how many people on the forum were all amazed that someone would allow an 18 yr old to have an M5, but some mommy or daddy thought it was ok...... Its like giving a 2 yr old a 44 mag. I'm sure that 200 feet was a hell of ride. My 23 yr old has asked to drive Mojo a couple of times.... I told him when he is 40 I'll think about it.
-
Well smoking all 4 tires to get stopped does nothing but improve your ride with flat spots. I guess these boys do not know how to stop quickly without ABS. the Cat isn't even making it to 100 in less than 11 seconds but the atom does it in 6....? Of course the atom does have the engine in the rear... I'm sure that is helping with standing water on the track....

Not a bad idea, Nothing worst than witnessing against yourself. Although I think if you don't have video or pictures of the Speedo, radar gun readout or something stupid like that. It would be mighty hard to prove in a court of law. There are several elements that they need to prosecute that would not be available unless you gave it to them. You could always claim you were full of BS and that you sped the video up to make it look faster than it was. Regardless it is still a good point.

Forget about engine or head swaps...what about driver swaps?
7evin replied to Al N.'s topic in General Sevens Discussion
I think its a great idea, Even though all the cars are built after a 7 the difference in attitude can be huge. I was afforded the opportunity to drive the Deman orange beast. FUN FUN FUN I found that 101% in their car is much more predictable than in MOJO. But recovery in MOJO is a bit more graceful. A thought to consider is, when your car would zig their car may zag. My thought is caution. Of course we should not drive our buddies car to 99.9%..... But on the same hand that is where you find the true character of the car..... I'm talking racing of course. Drivability around town and manners are a different story. Constantly looking for the hairy edge is a contagious disease you catch from hanging out with demented souls like Westtex (AKA Loren) who follows Einstein’s theory of relativity X 7= 3.14 times faster than you should be going. I believe in the near future in a galaxy not to far from here he will be cleared for landing in a 7. :nonod: -

The guy is quite amazing to say the least. I have to agree with you about the driver talent. We have watched drivers push cars to levels that were beyond belief. I would love to see Danny on the track in a Seven or Atom. Better yet I would like to be in the pass seat. I'm sure your heart would skip a few beats. Cheers -

Here are the results from 06 from the one lap website. One Lap Overall Results 31 50 World Class Mot Ultralite SSGT2 SB 4740 Loren Edwards, Kevin Boulton 32 17 Ultima GTR SSGT1 BB 4695 Carl Warren, Sam Kimberley-Bryant, Don Kahn Of course the other Ultima ran 5 th overall This year 07 The GTR ran 4th and a Dodge Neon ran 5th..... 4 26 Ultima GTR SSGT1 BB Carl Warren, Sam Kimberley-Bryant 5 51 Dodge SRT-4 MidPri Sed Douglas Wind, Devin Clancy, Ken Brewer We were 19th, .... Yeah, I know, beat by a Neon.... At least we were not driving a Viper or something Macho... As westTx can attest it was one very bad a$$ Neon and they knew how to drive. In the One Lap if you are running top 10 you are doing something right, BIG time. Sam drives the 24 hours of Lemans. On the grid at Mid America 06, Loren was driving. 24 50 World Class Mot Ultralite SSGT2 SB 5:25.501 Loren Edwards, Kevin Boulton 37 17 Ultima GTR SSGT1 BB 5:38.504 Carl Warren, Sam Kimberley-Bryant, Don Kahn http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/275548711_pics 008.jpg Thanks for the info about the results at VIR. The car does look great on the track. I did not mean to butt in, but I think Dr. Demento ( AKA WestTx) is out for the night. Cheers -

Small note to the facts, The Porsche GT3 RS was running 600 hp and club tires ( kind of like racing slicks) he claimed he was running 163 mph when I passed him. He was a little floored that what he had called a cute car earlier that day would pass him later that afternoon in a section of the track where his car works its magic. (the long back stretch) I have no idea how fast I was going, I refused to look after I went thru 150. I was just hoping the car would stay on the ground. I don't think Brian intended the S2K to ever start knocking on the door of 200 mph. But with his new secret aerodynamic upgrade that could be possible. Bob I can't wait to ride in your car. I never did get an answer about the top speed of the atoms on the full course at VIR.... Cheers -
Do you get any challenges in your seven?
7evin replied to slngsht's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Well, I'm kind of with Al on this one. I am very selective on where and when and only about 3 to 5 seconds worth. In a car that will do 0-60 in just under 3 seconds thats about all you need. If some young or old whipper snapper comes along and the conditions are right, I get a total thrill out of educating them about the HP to LBS ratio. It is usually followed by them wanting you to pull over so they can get a closer look. They are totally amazed at the car. I have had them follow me for miles taking pictures and giving thumbs up. Even motorcycles can't believe that when they are pulling wheelies in every gear and you are still pulling away from them, it just floors them. On ramps are great place to do your 0 - 80 blast if the highway is clear, even better if it is a loop. I did get pulled over by the Georgia Hwy patrol once for this, He was so intrigued by the car that he didn't even write me a warning, of course I was 20 minutes late arriving at my destination. It is by far the funnest car I have ever driven. -

If you look a little closer you can tell I'm just zoomed into the mirror more..... I think when we blew by him, the wake from the trailer we were towing blew his left headlite off.... :blueangel: Gotta love photo shop. Hallet has a HST (High Speed Touring) series that is very inexpensive and alot of fun. My wife and I did it in a Chrysler Crossfire we rented from budget. http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/537730781_pics 024b.jpg http://www.hallettracing.net/ The next HST event is 29th -30th Sept. I will not be able to attend this one because we will be doing the FireBall Run. Oct 27th -28th Will be the one after that. Nov. 10th-11th will be the last one for the year. Check out the web site and let me know what you think. I am curious to what kind of speeds the atoms were hitting on the long back stretch on the full course at VIR? Are the atoms running a 5 or 6 speed gear box? Cheers -

Warning to all Atom owners: This guy seems like a nice guy, and he is until he gets on a track in anything with wheels on it. If he looks at you like this http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1578871578_loren2.jpg Just pretend like there is something wrong with your car and go hide.... This is the Dirty Harry look... If he is on his tricycle you might be safe. If he is driving this http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1277035109_pics 025a.jpg Then he is on a mission and you are a bogey.... (enemy aircraft) Just a friendly warning.... -

Box, I take that as a compliment, I was thinking of accusing WestTexasS2k.... I must say I do like the looks of the Atom, in my rear view mirror...... :boxing: http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/636057008_pics 125.jpg http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1889757670_pics 125a.jpg .... Ha Ha Ha.... Just being funny... As you know boys will be boys, no matter what age. I don't think our goal is to bash anyone's car. I think if we were talking about bicycles that my bike would be faster then yours. Just the way boys play. Here's an idea, How about we all meet in a central location (like Hallet in OK.) We rent the track for the day and have some fun. To make it even more fun we can do it in teams and who ever has the slowest team buys the beer and pays the track rental. IE. if the atom team is faster the 7s buy. That would be a great opportunity for all of us to meet and rub elbows. Hallet is a great track. Maybe we could even do a powder puff and let the girls go out and drive. My wife loves driving MOJO. http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1189962621_DSCN4643b.jpg To the Atom guys thanks for your input. You guys are ok even though your engine is in the wrong place..... Just teasing. :grouphug:
