  1. I think its a great idea, Even though all the cars are built after a 7 the difference in attitude can be huge. I was afforded the opportunity to drive the Deman orange beast. FUN FUN FUN I found that 101% in their car is much more predictable than in MOJO. But recovery in MOJO is a bit more graceful. A thought to consider is, when your car would zig their car may zag. My thought is caution. Of course we should not drive our buddies car to 99.9%..... But on the same hand that is where you find the true character of the car..... I'm talking racing of course. Drivability around town and manners are a different story. Constantly looking for the hairy edge is a contagious disease you catch from hanging out with demented souls like Westtex (AKA Loren) who follows Einstein’s theory of relativity X 7= 3.14 times faster than you should be going. I believe in the near future in a galaxy not to far from here he will be cleared for landing in a 7. :nonod:
  2. The guy is quite amazing to say the least. I have to agree with you about the driver talent. We have watched drivers push cars to levels that were beyond belief. I would love to see Danny on the track in a Seven or Atom. Better yet I would like to be in the pass seat. I'm sure your heart would skip a few beats. Cheers
  3. Here are the results from 06 from the one lap website. One Lap Overall Results 31 50 World Class Mot Ultralite SSGT2 SB 4740 Loren Edwards, Kevin Boulton 32 17 Ultima GTR SSGT1 BB 4695 Carl Warren, Sam Kimberley-Bryant, Don Kahn Of course the other Ultima ran 5 th overall This year 07 The GTR ran 4th and a Dodge Neon ran 5th..... 4 26 Ultima GTR SSGT1 BB Carl Warren, Sam Kimberley-Bryant 5 51 Dodge SRT-4 MidPri Sed Douglas Wind, Devin Clancy, Ken Brewer We were 19th, .... Yeah, I know, beat by a Neon.... At least we were not driving a Viper or something Macho... As westTx can attest it was one very bad a$$ Neon and they knew how to drive. In the One Lap if you are running top 10 you are doing something right, BIG time. Sam drives the 24 hours of Lemans. On the grid at Mid America 06, Loren was driving. 24 50 World Class Mot Ultralite SSGT2 SB 5:25.501 Loren Edwards, Kevin Boulton 37 17 Ultima GTR SSGT1 BB 5:38.504 Carl Warren, Sam Kimberley-Bryant, Don Kahn http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/275548711_pics 008.jpg Thanks for the info about the results at VIR. The car does look great on the track. I did not mean to butt in, but I think Dr. Demento ( AKA WestTx) is out for the night. Cheers
  4. Small note to the facts, The Porsche GT3 RS was running 600 hp and club tires ( kind of like racing slicks) he claimed he was running 163 mph when I passed him. He was a little floored that what he had called a cute car earlier that day would pass him later that afternoon in a section of the track where his car works its magic. (the long back stretch) I have no idea how fast I was going, I refused to look after I went thru 150. I was just hoping the car would stay on the ground. I don't think Brian intended the S2K to ever start knocking on the door of 200 mph. But with his new secret aerodynamic upgrade that could be possible. Bob I can't wait to ride in your car. I never did get an answer about the top speed of the atoms on the full course at VIR.... Cheers
  5. Well, I'm kind of with Al on this one. I am very selective on where and when and only about 3 to 5 seconds worth. In a car that will do 0-60 in just under 3 seconds thats about all you need. If some young or old whipper snapper comes along and the conditions are right, I get a total thrill out of educating them about the HP to LBS ratio. It is usually followed by them wanting you to pull over so they can get a closer look. They are totally amazed at the car. I have had them follow me for miles taking pictures and giving thumbs up. Even motorcycles can't believe that when they are pulling wheelies in every gear and you are still pulling away from them, it just floors them. On ramps are great place to do your 0 - 80 blast if the highway is clear, even better if it is a loop. I did get pulled over by the Georgia Hwy patrol once for this, He was so intrigued by the car that he didn't even write me a warning, of course I was 20 minutes late arriving at my destination. It is by far the funnest car I have ever driven.
  6. If you look a little closer you can tell I'm just zoomed into the mirror more..... I think when we blew by him, the wake from the trailer we were towing blew his left headlite off.... :blueangel: Gotta love photo shop. Hallet has a HST (High Speed Touring) series that is very inexpensive and alot of fun. My wife and I did it in a Chrysler Crossfire we rented from budget. http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/537730781_pics 024b.jpg http://www.hallettracing.net/ The next HST event is 29th -30th Sept. I will not be able to attend this one because we will be doing the FireBall Run. Oct 27th -28th Will be the one after that. Nov. 10th-11th will be the last one for the year. Check out the web site and let me know what you think. I am curious to what kind of speeds the atoms were hitting on the long back stretch on the full course at VIR? Are the atoms running a 5 or 6 speed gear box? Cheers
  7. Warning to all Atom owners: This guy seems like a nice guy, and he is until he gets on a track in anything with wheels on it. If he looks at you like this http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1578871578_loren2.jpg Just pretend like there is something wrong with your car and go hide.... This is the Dirty Harry look... If he is on his tricycle you might be safe. If he is driving this http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1277035109_pics 025a.jpg Then he is on a mission and you are a bogey.... (enemy aircraft) Just a friendly warning....
  8. Box, I take that as a compliment, I was thinking of accusing WestTexasS2k.... I must say I do like the looks of the Atom, in my rear view mirror...... :boxing: http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/636057008_pics 125.jpg http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1889757670_pics 125a.jpg .... Ha Ha Ha.... Just being funny... As you know boys will be boys, no matter what age. I don't think our goal is to bash anyone's car. I think if we were talking about bicycles that my bike would be faster then yours. Just the way boys play. Here's an idea, How about we all meet in a central location (like Hallet in OK.) We rent the track for the day and have some fun. To make it even more fun we can do it in teams and who ever has the slowest team buys the beer and pays the track rental. IE. if the atom team is faster the 7s buy. That would be a great opportunity for all of us to meet and rub elbows. Hallet is a great track. Maybe we could even do a powder puff and let the girls go out and drive. My wife loves driving MOJO. http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1189962621_DSCN4643b.jpg To the Atom guys thanks for your input. You guys are ok even though your engine is in the wrong place..... Just teasing. :grouphug:
  9. I have to agree with you about Derek, on top of all of that he is a really nice guy. But, as we experienced this year, HP is a friend and foe. It will tear up more things than you can shake a wrench at. Over a 7 day, 4000 plus miles, sometimes 3 different tracks in one day, things will start to unravel. Of course Derek and his crew can keep even an M5 BMW on the track with all-thread and super glue. It shall be a great challenge to try and keep up with him..... FUN FUN FUN.:hurray:
  10. Well if all goes well we may get the chance to find out about this sevens -vs Atom debate Mine and Lorens buddy Derek Whitis has purchased a 500 hp Atom from the UK. He has been fighting with customs for a couple of months, but it looks like he will have it for the Cannon Ball Run in May,08.... 18 or so track events in 7 days. Derek doesn't play he races all the time and is a great driver. I guess we'll have to figure out how to add some JATO tubes to MOJO  We are definitely up grading the roll bars, more weight but necessary. There will be no excuses accepted and no prisoners taken. I just hope we can defend the honor of all the great 7s. Have any of you guys ever thought about joining us in this event? It would be great to have several 7s in this event.
  11. Bob, Thank you.... I can't tell you how many people tell my very sick and demented friend Loren and I that we are not right, Have a screw loose, Need a psychological examination, and the list goes on...... and on..... Mostly about him..... We have talked about stroking the 2.0L to a 2.5L and adding the supercharger to it and maybe squeezing 500 HP out of it.... giving us a 2.6 lbs/per hp. Sick yes... Indy car is around 1.5lbs /per hp..... BUT YOU are off the scale.....600 to 800 that puts you into indy car territory...... You make me feel so much better about being me..... I knew there was a reason I liked you from the very beginning !!!! I must let you know, Just in case someone has failed to inform you, You are very not Right.. I never thought you could have toooo much HP,,, But I think you might be getting very close. Go for it. Cheers 7evin
  12. How about deputy Antross in Blount county performing 5 criminal misdemeanors in 60 seconds This video is worth your investment of time... It is about the dragon and the police abuse there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvA1XIBm4PA Bikers beware video.... You won't beleave it. Cheers Kevin
  13. Wow.... I did not know we were racing on this road..... I think Loren has a good point. Set the LEOs up, I hate to call them law enforcement officers because I have seen them break more laws in a mile then most people do in a month. Have everyone carry video cameras and video them in action. Post it everywhere. I have personally chased them down to get their cars #s, documented their actions via affidavit with a witness if possible and filed documentation against them. In one instance the officer call me and graveled pleading with me to drop the case. Another instance I had 2 of them disarmed and put behind desks for over a year. Now you really have be pi#$%^ :cuss: off to go this far.... I was! If you are a public SERVANT.... Then please understand who pays your check on Friday. I always remind them when they forget.... In a nice way of course. They do have guns.... :_deadhorse: I have been dying to use this gif Cheers Kevin
  14. You guys are the coolest..... I wish I could have found people like all of you years ago... Being a geeky techno car nut limited me to sharing my out of the box ideas with my dear sick and twisted friend Loren..... I mean that in a good way if that is possible... Now we have friends of like minds  (twisted) to share our deviated automotive thoughts... Yeah....:hurray: Cheers Kevin
  15. Dino and Paul: The pleasure was all mine, thank you for the opportunity. I hope I get the chance to drive it again. Dang, you think maybe Bob was scouting us out figuring out our weaknesses? what a crafty rascal..... Jeff: I sure look fwd to it. Good people, good times, fast cars...... Does it get any better.... Oh, No Rain.... That should be some kind of beer commercial:cheers: Cheers Kevin
  16. We'll go to Sebastian's its cocina fusion. It will knock your socks off. A good friend of mine owns it. I look fwd to it. Enjoy you vacation.:hurray: Cheers Kevin
  17. Bob: Down to 2.7 seconds 0-60 @ 26 psi. whoa.... 26 psi.... That bad boy must be coming on like a ton of bricks... I can't wait to see it on the track. Are you going to bring it to run-n-gun ? I sure hope so. Cheers Kevin
  18. Kudos on the trailer. It pulled beautifully behind the rig, I almost did not know it was there. I should have taken a picture... This is what it would have looked like, but wider and lower. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1470121890_california trip 2005 026.jpg My only concern is were are you supposed to sleep at? I saw no place for an air mattress. unlike MOJO's trailer.... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/265398316_DSC01273.JPG Cheers Kevin:leaving:
  19. Sorry guys, I realize I should have paid more attention and posted this a little lower where it says Ultimate Track car challenge.... Nothing like a newbe to throw a monkey wrench in things. Cheers Kevin
  20. Just wanted to say thanks to those hard core 7's lovers who showed up to support us at the UTCC. and all of you that voted for all of us. Al showed up and brought us a cool 7's banner to hang from the rig, which we will be proudly displaying at every event we go to. Brock Yates Jr. came in and hung with us for a while. Bob came by and spent the day with us providing us with invaluable support and advice... Thank you thank you. I have give a VERY special thanks to my friends from Demans, Paul and Dino..... When these guys heard we ..... I wrecked MOJO, they called right away and offered their Beautiful Orange Beast to the Organic Racing team so that we could still compete..... I have to say I was floored by this act of unselfishness. Not only do they build a GREAT car, But they are also GREAT guys. Dino went 2 days without sleep prepping the car and driving it down from Chicago. I ask for slicks and he showed up with brand new R6s on the car. If you haven't got to know these 2 guys yet, Make time to do so. Very bright and very motivated.:flag: http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/463737251_DSCN4752.JPG Dino and I robbing parts from the 2008 F250 rental truck to upgrade his car. http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/2046472373_DSCN4749.JPG Dino and I performing the "F 250 Upgrade" http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1154560229_DSCN4743.JPG The Crew.... Motley as we may be... http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1417420500_DSCN4757.JPG The Girls....... Girls Love 7's....... Its a good thing because I don't know how they tolerate us.... http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1090907986_DSCN4763.JPG I also wanted to say thanks to Jeff "Dr. R1" for helping us out and making us proud when would drop the hammer on that wicked bad orange 1 liter beast... I think we should have put on the same #s and really confused the field.... Cheers Kevin
