You Guys ROCK..... Thank you so much.... Lets hope the track event goes this smoothly. Hoosier R6's arrived today.... Can't wait to see how Mojito dances with sticky shoes. I'm going to take the pilot sports with us just in case it rains. I know it never rains in So Cal.... I'm not taking any chances. Thanks for all your support. It would be cool if we could vote for for the other 7's also. all 7's at the top of the list. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3036474 John Meyers car. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2935765 1977 lotus 7 Cheers 7evin

I was wondering if anyone would mind helping us increase our rank on car domain. Just click on the link below click on Mojito and rank us. We would like to be ranked up there with that atom. http://www.cardomain.com/MakeModel/all/all/category%7C25 Thanks for your help and time. Cheers 7evin

Wow BEAUTIFUL...... You have done some great work.... I would have loved to be able to take my time and build a car like you have done. We had to have ours on the ground and track ready in 8 weeks. I'm still tired from that. I would like to share a thought with you about the brake pedal assembly. give me a call 678-314-3906 Cheers 7

Chad, you are going to LOVE that car.... funnest thing I have ever driven. Took a guy who rides a 08 kawasaki ZX10 (198 bhp and 398 lbs) for a ride tonight and when we got back he wanted to know If I would trade him... He said " that thing (MOJITO) is better than sex" I don't know I would go that far... But it is not far from it. keep us posted how she coming along. If you need any advice don"t hesitate to ask. Cheers 7

With those monster meats on your car and all that torque I'm sure you will be right there if you keep your foot in it. It is a bit unnerving going that fast and not being able to see where you are going to land, but after you have done it several times you will get the hang of it. Main thing is to get lined up properly for the braking zone. the good thing is that there is not alot to hit if you don't get it right... I can't wait to see that beast of yours on the track.. Cheers 7

Wow Great video !! I will be watching this everyday before UTCC. I was very impressed with how smoothly you handled the car. I only heard tire screech 1 time. Beautiful job... Can I take driving lessons from you ? I was watching you suspension when you top the hill next to the flag stand How much does the car unload at that point? Will you by any chance be coming out to the UTCC on the 8th of June? If so I would love to walk the track with you and get your input. Cheers 7

Drivers Republic: Caterham R500 vs Atom vs Lotus 211
7evin replied to MoPho's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Wow that is pretty cool. They are really doing the R500 a disservice the way it is being driven. If you listen you can hear him jabbing the throttle on and off, every time he does this it unloads the front and rear of the car. His lap time would be much faster if he would just squeeze the throttle... Of course I do the same thing.... Nice to see someone else making the same mistakes. Secondly, throwing the rear end out and doing power slides looks great on video, but it is not fast around the track.... Good example of this is my 3rd place finish at the BMW track. I put on a great show but I was slow. Wings, I don't have a way to measure that yet.... But I can tell you that they change the behavior of the car quite drastically at high speeds. WAAYYYY..... more stable and planted. Cheers 7 -
VIR full course. Down the back stretch 166 mph just over the hump (Dry track) I wanted to see 170 but I barely got slowed down enough to make the turn as it was. We did have cloud cover and my digital dash was not picking up the sensor on the trans, so it could be more or less. We purchased a radar gun for our next event at buttonwillow so we can verify our speed. Surprisingly we ran 137 mph at TWS in the rain. Some one told me there is a picture of us coming down the front stretch blowing a 30 ft rooster tail. I have not seen it. I had the wings pushed to about 35 degrees to get all the down force I could out of the car. Cheers 7

I think this is one of the most beautiful 7 types I have ever seen..... I can't wait to see some rich guy on the track with one. Maybe It will be my lucky day and there will be a Atom on the track at the same time. 2 for 1, hate to waste any more alcohol than necessary. Cheers 7

1600 is not bad at all considering you are v8 powered. Mojito is 1520 with a 1/2 tank of fuel. Thanks. I thought I looked more like a butcher. Ahh maybe I could call myself "The Bimmer Butcher" Is there a video of the R500 on the track? Cheers 7evin

When I saw all the big dust cloud I thought he went off deep, so I slowed just in case he was coming back onto the track. GPS, Yes, used it to record max speed.... Told the other drivers I had the track programed in so I would know what turn was coming up next...... a little psychological warfare... Cheers 7evin

New video up on the Organic racing channel. Nice big spin for you...... drag videos are up now. http://www.youtube.com/user/KevinOGR More to come from the one lap adventure. let me know what you think. Cheers 7evin

Wow, that beast should really hook up. What does it weigh? For those interested I just posted a video on you tube from the one lap. Nice big spin in this one. More to come http://www.youtube.com/user/KevinOGR This is the Organic racing channel. Cheers 7evin

Are you running 275s all the way around? West tex and I have have several discussions about this issue. I finally got info from an engineer from Hoosier..... Wider is better. Of course you have to consider aero, unsprung weight, rolling resistance....... In your case you have plenty of grunt to motivate them. Cheers 7evin

Now that the maps have been built it will just be a matter of plug and play. with a few minor adjustment of course. Kenny Tran is the GURU for bringing it to life. If you are thinking of running E-85 all your parts have to be alcohol compatible Tank,, fuel lines, fuel pumps and all aluminum has to be hard anodized. We are contemplating how to squeeze 315's under the fenders..... Allot of power for 275's

WOW.... Thank you all for so much wonderful support. 7s ROCK !!!!!!! I have to keep pinching myself to make sure this is real... Sorry I have not responded before now. We had to drive to Michigan on Sunday to do some testing on the car at Wheel to Wheel on Monday. We thought we were having drive slippage or possibly belt slippage. Come to find out on their calibrated Dyno Mojito is making 381 hp to the wheels. No belt or drive slippage. Big relief. We drove from Detroit to Atlanta got in at 6:30 am and have to leave tonight for Orlando :7drive: for a green earth expo where Mojito will be on center stage for 4 days. I have to say thanks to Brian Anderson for building such an incredible car. My Team mate Loren for keeping me locked in his shop for 8 weeks and coming up with some of the most innovative ideas to go faster and faster. And for keeping everyone up to date. (this list could go on and on) Chuck and Barb, for all the great tech advice, support and the spare diff. (thank goodness we did not need it) Paul for being that smiling face that drove for hours to cheer us on. Bob for helping me with the pump issue and allowing me to be the first person to ride in his monster creation. That thing is part drag car.... I thought Mojito was fast... Gary and his friend for their kind words and encouragement. Robert, For taking time out of his busy day and bringing his beautiful car to the reception in Ohio to support us. It must strike fear in our competitor’s hearts when these cars start to gather..... Above all to my beautiful and durable wife who never complained the whole time, no matter how tired, wet and cold she got. Next stop, Button Willow Ca. the Ultimate Track/Green Car Challenge. Wish us luck as we take Mojito into battle against some of the fastest track cars in the USA Cheers and again thank you for all your kind words and support. Stay tuned for more action, same 7s time , same 7s channel. 7evin http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/978645009_kba.jpg

Rear wing, This track is rather fast, we had to dial some wing out of the car. We are getting so much rear bite that you almost can't throw the rear out.... All most. Bob, Thank you and we are addressing sealing surfaces also. The Data colection is not complete. See you at VIR. Cheers 7evin

WOW, thanks for all the input, You guys rock. Spaz, We have already signed up..... Thanks for the plug. If anyone wants to tell them about us we would be grateful. Bob, Would love to see you at VIR in the beast.... Here is my cell if you don't have it. 678.314.3906. Chuck, Thank you for everything you and Barb do to support us. You two are awsome. Dinner my treat before the one lap...... your treat if we win.... Well we spent 3 days wringing this things neck at TWS..:ack: .... I think Eric Foss ( pro driver/instructor for Porsche and Mazda...) said it best..... "WOW this thing is amazing, I have never driven anything like it.... totally Sick..." He helped us tune the suspension and overall setup.... I learned allot. Sunday morning Eric took me with him for a 20 min thrashing...... I saw Jesus at least twice maybe 3 times, not sure it was just a blur... We passed everything on the track. The top 7 cars Z06"s Porsches and a 350z. (all on racing slicks and gutted) 153 down the front stretch.... According to the max speed on the GPS. With 2 of us in the car he turned 1:54 min. He believes the car is capable of 1:50 with a few more tweeks. NOT with me in it. He brought several people by to show them the car. They all were full of Q"s He apologized to me and said "I just can't stop thinking about this thing" I said "welcome to my world".... Near the end of that run the temp started to come up. Pulled in and found we had blown a head gasket. Loaded her up and we are in Dallas today at Kenny Tran's shop. He let me use his dyno bay to pull the head. Issue... Honda studs did not hold. Going with ARP studs and changing the valve springs and retainers while we are at it..... Glad we found it now and not 3000 miles into the one lap. I'll post videos later tonight if I have time. Here are a few pics http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/726660669_pics 014.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/2127085455_pics 017.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/181016652_pics 021.jpg Mojito and the one lap RV. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1631366830_pics 034.jpg Eric taking it out for a shake down..... This dude is so fast. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/766936867_pics 013.jpg Cheers 7evin Thanks again for everyones support and input.

Just a little update, I do not recommend the carbon fiber wings for anything more than looks. They are to thin and distort at high speeds. On the other hand the aluminum version is very nice. I think you could stand on them and they are cheaper. If I can find the charger for my camera I'll post some pics. Currently upgrading the 7s human sleeping attachment/ alcohol smuggling device. As Bob refers to it as the "Sarcophagus" Cheers 7evin
