  1. As my car is undergoing its transformation, various Rotus bits and pieces are available for sale. I'm holding some pieces for various members here... listing those too, and denoting them. 4 BBS wheels with Toyo RA-1 tires (alot of tread left) - Holding for Robert Supra solid axle rear with disc brakes - Holding for Robert Front upper Aarms - I believe these are the later "reinforced" Aarms as some of the early cars had bending problems: $200 I don't believe I promised these to anyone Rear fiberglass fenders - pair. painted green right now. need to be repainted. I'm thinking about selling them with the standard issue Rotus (Toyota) tail light assemblies - $350 (or $300 without the lights). I don't believe there are any issues with the fiberglass on these. These are the wider fenders that Rotus made. I can check the width if anyone is interested. These fenders cost $400 new from Dennis, without the aluminum or tail lights. pair of Coveland front aluminum fenders for 15" wheels. One of the two fenders has several rivet holes drilled into it, the other one is totally new. I'll sell these for 70% of whatever the coveland going price is. pair of SEVEN exhaust shields from Martin (in UK). These are aluminum ones and 36" long. Never mounted. 80% of Martin's price. Front calipers, uprights, pads and rotors - one rotor is scraped up... obviously needs pads. I have new pads to go with it. The other rotor is almost new. I have one new still-in-the-box lower ball joint, and another almost new balljoint is on the driver side upright. Solder Guy was interested in these... offer me a price. I have a variety of VDO gauges that are pretty old.
  2. well, i just came back after 90 minutes, and it's still logged in. I guess that's a good sign. Keeping fingers crossed.
  3. I, along with a few others, have noticed that the forum does not remember us when we come back to it. I have just put a fix in, but I'm not sure if it's going to work. The behavior is not consistant, so if you notice a change, post it up here. thanks.
  4. Skip. That's awesome. congrats
  5. I ran across this site. It is for RC car handling, but I thought it did a good job describing suspension basics.
  6. Well, starting to cut pieces for the lower Aarms. Hopefully will be ready to weld 'em up by this weekend. In the picture shown, there will be a plate and bracket welded over the tubes near the ball joint sleeve, where the lower shock mount will be. The front will be considerably wider than before, not good for autox, but it will match the rear (actually, about an inch wider) http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/97492811_LowerAArm1.JPG
  7. I'm too far away, and have no front suspension at the moment  Sounds like a fun time! Enjoy :seeya:

  12. where is the registration for the solo event? On the off chance that I finish fabricating the front suspension by then, it'd be fun to run.

  15. welcome aboard... post up some pics if you get a chance.
  16. I saw Snoopy air ship land once... very funny procedure. basically they navigated it close to the ground, with a rope hanging off of it... then the ground crew would chase the rope and hang on for dear life, and eventually tie it to a pole.
  17. kitkat, in addition to the engine/tranny savings (well, because of it), BEC's can run with lighter brake rotors (rotating weight) and other components as well. So the net result is a little more than just the lighter engine/tranny.
  18. don't p*ss off a man with a grinder and cutting discs. May you rest in pieces :blueangel: :leaving: To those of you hoping to get some Rotus parts off me... the upper Aarm has survived in one piece. The lower Aarm will require some [cough]mending[/cough]

  22. Find tool to change cutting disc on the grinder: 1 hour Cut bolt: 1 min :leaving:
  23. Robert, it's my turn now. Starting on taking the front suspension apart. 3 hours of banging and hammering, and I have the upper Aarm bolt on one side half way out - and stuck. :banghead: With mine, I don't think corrosion is an issue... the bolt just does not want to come out of the bushing.
