  1. Toyota employs something around 10,000 people in North America. This does not include suppliers. Source http://www.hoovers.com/company/Toyota_Motor_North_America_Inc/rrrssxi-1.html By comparison, The big three employ around 400,000 people in North America directly - again, not counting suppliers. Just some food for thought in terms of domestic significance of Toyota vs the traditional domestic automakers.
  2. How many vehicles does Toyota sell in the states every year, compared to GM? How many people does Toyota employ in the states every year, compared to GM?

  6. I would not make a good president . My schedule is so packed, club matters will get neglected, and we really need someone to drive us to the next level (not over the curb :lolg: ). I'm OK with serving as treasurer since the club bank account is local, and my accountant does the club taxes as part of my tax bill (free to the club), so it's really not much work. Maybe John Ch can move to the middle of the country????
  7. Go as fast as you can right from the start. It won't improve your driving, but will help a lot with fabrication skills
  8. How do you feel your car held up against the big guns?
  9. LOL. Yes, lots of possibility with the car. Next few weeks will be interesting for sure. I weighed the car last night. The frame, rear axle, wheels, tires, control arms, shocks and springs + complete front suspension including the steering rack is 470lbs. Engine and tranny are 175 lbs. I definitely think it's possible to be at or below 900 lbs. Also, as you pointed out, engine sits very far back. I'm pretty sure I can lay the radiator flat on the bottom of the car in front of the engine... Some interesting aero possibilities there. The car really is set up as a driver-only car... so battery and gas tank can occupy where the passenger would normally be. With engine and gas tank so close to the center of the car, this thing should be pretty good at changing direction :willy_nilly:
  10. so you cure an orgasm addiction with porn... all the druggies are jumping with joy
  11. Frankn7 is in Arya's hands now. He will fix/mod as needed and get that beast on the road. The frame is from a UK '85 Cat. Yes, it'll be a RHD car. Not sure if this will be on the road... maybe, maybe not.
  12. next project. Went with a R1 powered RHD variant this time. Probably will be autox / track only, but who knows...
