  1. I'm sure most of you have seen me in the forums these past few weeks looking for a 7. thanks to the help of member tnttim i was tipped off to a wcm ultralite on ebay. I purchased and had the car shipped to me in PA. My first impression was the lack of words. the quality of the build was waaaaaaaaaaaay higher then expected. I found performance items i did not know about, dampening adjustable coilovers, willwood knuckles, 12" floating rotors front and back (still don't know why), as well as the LSD rear diff. the downside was that the car seems to have never been driven. i was told it has 10 miles on it but the odo reads 1, and has no been calibrated , there is also a leak in one of the brake fittings cause NO front brakes, no ebrake ( cable not hooked up or way out of adjustment), sds engine management that cant control the vvt option in the motor, and the car generally feels a bit loose. to fix this all I'm doing a one over on the car before i do a lot of driving (yes i fixed the bakes before i drove it). in all im VERY VERY VERY happy with the car. the issues it has are MINOR and will be sorted soon. i will post up pics in a little bit
  2. hello all, i had my wcm ultralite delivered just over a week ago. i love driving it and what not but its damn hard switching lanes with no mirrors... no rear or side view. ive seen options for bolt on mirrors where i would cut into the hood and i would use that route as a last resort. my problem is that i don't have a full front glass, just the two little wind screens. i don't want to be punching holes in the car that i would take away strength in the future. so my question is this, can i get CLIP/CLAMP on mirrors? i would like to attach them to the hood of the car where it closes over the dash. i have about 2 inches on each side. i have only been able to locate bike mirrors which clamp on in a different fashion so im coming to you all for help. thanks in advance, and ill post a pic of the dash/car tomorrow.
  3. my ultralite does not have that fancy "7" grill ... wonder where you can get one.
  4. hay guys, i did in fact purchase the ultralite and i will be taking delivery this tues/wed. ive already contacted all those who have worked on the car to get the "skinny" on its history as well as ken hill at Oracle Tuning. ill be shwoing him the car and moving forward from there. Roman

  9. sounds good to me! im new here and a youngin as well (24). comming from the vw side of things i know what you mean. my vw backround is with the old school, mk2/mk3/corrado vr6 and vr6turbo. we know how to build up our cars by hand. good luck with your locost
  10. just called in to ask the normal q's. says the quality is below cat, west, birk and a few other. it is a solid runner and he thinks its got about 175 hp. things that were a turnoff were fuel that needs to be premixed with oil, no covers/weather gear, poor interior build quality. on the other hand the price is right. myself being unfamiliar with these cars i think i will stick to a more common brand in case i need parts or assistance. Roman
  11. everything can be made to work, but the cost and performance may not be worth it.
  12. if im not mistaken the gti motor your talking about is actually a 1.8T not a 2.0L turbo unless they pulled it out of a mk5 (current generation) gti. as for the vr6 motor... i was in schimmel performance yesterday asking about doing this. he would be the guy to make it happen and he shot me down after seeing locost chassy pics. this was comming from guy who put a 24v vr6 biturbo rear engine corrado together as well a as having his own porsche 1987 with 1993 911 rear end. a few months ago we had a corrado roll through the shop to get tuned that had a rear wheel drive conversion and it was fairly complex. here is its buildup http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2583054
  13. The company i hold the warehouse for is TmTuning.com. as for driving skills i am very limited. my experiance extends to back roads and the auto x i do is usually avoiding deer at dusk
  14. after reading many replys here i feel wayyyyyy to young to even be posting, but here goes. I crave attention, thrills, and tight corners. ive fallen for the car bug about 5-6 years ago when i bought a vw corrado sight unseen from FL. that car was a complete mess and i had to learn how to work on it myself in order to keep it on the road. i turned from nerdy computer geek to corrado freak. my first corrado turned heads, won shows, and was featured in magazines and calendars. now 24 years old having finished business school in Penn State i own/run a warehouse and distribution center for a company in germany. We offer all sorts of euro spec and aftermarket items for vw's and audi's. I fell in love with the caterham after watching some videos on youtube years ago. now that i can aford such a toy i am eager to get one. currently i drive my wonderful 2003 jetta tdi wagon which has its share of power mods. im currently selling off my 5 year collection of corrado parts in order to purchase a se7en. here is a pic of my old corrado in case anyone is interested. http://www.hostdub.com/albums/GotEuroCorrado/steve_shots1.sized.jpg
  15. hay guys, thanks for all the great replys. xflow7, i have watched most of these sites carefully. Ecotec07, i dont know how i missed this one!!! im going to call them asap. yellowss7, i have driven the $50k caterham at midatlantic in DE and was sold on the car (after drolling for 2 years online). i would still love to go for a ride with you to see another example of the car. i actually live in west norrinton which is only 20 min from you down the blue route. Boxologist, please let me know when your heading to the mountains i would love to join and watch. SuperStalker44, i have been shying away from a stalker because they are all seem very unfinished. the interior in everyone ive seen is an afterthought leading me to view the caterham as more refined. also there is one on ebay that has gone 4 times now and remains unsold for 16k starting bid.
  16. Im in the philadelphia area but am willing to travel to or ship the right car. im looking for something with 110+ hp, di dion, rear and all the rest is give or take. i also dont mind a car with higher miles or older age. im a young guy so my funding is limited otherwise i would be out buying a new one. i would like to keep the cost under $25k. ive watches quite a few of these cars sell in the past year and i think i can find a good example in my price range. thanks in advance for everyones help. Roman
