HOW SMART IS YOUR RIGHT FOOT? This is hysterical. You have to try this. It is absolutely true. I guess there are some things that the brain cannot handle. HOW SMART IS YOUR RIGHT FOOT? You have to try this please, it takes 2 seconds. I could not believe this!!! It is from an orthopedic surgeon.... This will boggle your mind and you will keep you trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't. It's preprogrammed in your brain! 1. Without anyone watching you (they will think you are GOOFY......) And while sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your Right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles. 2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your Right hand. Your foot will change direction. I told you so!!! And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.

The longest stint I have driven was about 3 hours. My car has the factory Caterham fabric covered seats and is very comfortable. My driving range is more limited by my bladder capacity than seat comfort or the 10 gallon fuel tank. The only uncomfortable part of driving my Caterham is the wind beating up the left side of my face. I wear an earplug in my left ear which helps a lot.

I read a report in a local newspaper on the swine flu and the last thing they mentioned was that Egypt was preparing to slaughter all pigs in the country! I thought it was some kind of sick joke until I found this reported by the AP.

Add a little bright red bloodstain around the bullet hole and give them away in Somalia.

I think your HP estimates may be a little conservative. My Caterham has an '00 Miata motor with VICS. With 550cc injectors and a Hydra 2.6 it pulled 301 RWHP and 265 lb ft at 12psi. The engine is otherwise completely stock. The Mazdaspeed manifold and turbo does fit tight against the block but they are limited in flow relative to the aftermarket manifolds & turbos. I used an FM manifold and the Garrett 2560 ball bearing turbo. My exhaust is still on the loud side. It is 3" with a metal cat converter and glasspack muffler. It splits into two 2" factory Caterham tailpipes to get clearance as it goes under the car for a rear exit. For track work I have a side exhaust with no muffler or cat. That gets really loud, ear plugs and helmet help but my ears are ringing after a day on the track. I am using the clutch from a Mazdaspeed Miata with an 8.5 lb steel ACT flywheel. No problems with slippage so far (and it has been tested many times ).

What engine and ECU are you using? I looked in the member's rides section but didn't find your car.

The title says it is V-box data so if true, it was done on the road. Pretty hard to measure G forces on a dyno. It also shows he was going slightly downhill during the run, a drop of about 25' over the distance. No downhill data from a dyno that I am aware of. Skip

Here's one about Johnny's little sister: Here's a truly heartwarming story about the bond formed between a little 5-year-old girl and some construction workers that will make you believe that we all can make a difference when we give a child the gift of our time. A young family moved into a house, next to a vacant lot. One day, a construction crew began to build a house on the empty lot. The young family's 5-year-old daughter naturally took an interest in the goings-on and spent much of each day observing the workers. Eventually the construction crew, all of them gems-in-the-rough,' more or less, adopted her as a kind of project mascot. They chatted with her during coffee and lunch breaks and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important. At the end of the first week, they even presented her with a pay envelope containing ten dollars. The little girl took this home to her mother who suggested that she take her ten dollars 'pay' she'd received to the bank the next day to start a savings account. When the girl and her mom got to the bank, the teller was equally impressed and asked the little girl how she had come by her very own pay check at such a young age. The little girl proudly replied, "I worked last week with a real construction crew building the new house next door to us." "Oh my goodness gracious," said the teller, "and will you be working on the house again this week, too?" The little girl replied, "I will, if those assholes at Home Depot ever deliver the fuckin' sheet rock." Kind of brings a tear to the eye - doesn't it?

Might I suggest drilling a very small hole in the drain plug to allow the proper amount of oil to deposit itself on your garage floor? You could also do the same to the brake fluid reservoir, the transmission & differential drain plugs and the lower radiator hose, just to make it a complete set.

How about this body kit for the Miata? You can add your choice of power, stock, turbo, supercharger Ford or Chevy LSx V8. These are very well done body kits. Simpson Design Italia

From the TV coverage it looked like a bad day for photography, the sky was grey. That's a real expensive photo shoot, one 747 and one fighter jet plus an airborne platform for the photographer.

I like the look of the car. Nice to see someone is planning on keeping the Se7en look alive into the future. How would those strange looking upper A arms affect the suspension geometry?
-
Thanks, that clears it up for me.

Only 15 to go.....that means to come.....

We could send the lucky 1,000th person on a worldwide tour to get a ride in each of our Se7ens (travel expenses not included). -
Not being involved in autocross I'm curious as to why none of the people listed in the FTD group show up in their classes. Is FTD a separate class or did each of these people have one good run but their times were averaged with slower runs so they didn't place in class?

Seems like you should be able to swap the two lap belts halves on the driver seat and then the slot for the 5th strap would be on the bottom. Am I missing something here?

Congratulations Hank, Sounds like a great job especially when so many highly qualified people are out there competing for jobs flipping burgers for minimum wage.

Several of our Miata club outings have resulted in a cop finding us pulled over for a break and gathering the 40 or so people together and chewing our asses because some of us (no, no, not me, never me) passed an old lady with a cell phone and she called it in. It has never resulted in mass tickets but it has happened so often we came to expect a police moment whenever we were traveling together.

After reading the piece on the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este by Peter Orosz I sat staring at this picture, wondering if this was an illusion or just an example of custom coach work not being symmetrical. The left and right fenders do not look anything close to mirror images of themselves in both size and shape. I realize the photo is not from straight ahead but it looks weird to me.

Moss on the wings, now THAT's patina. I'd love to know how many miles/kilometers are showing on the odometer.

I picked up this rev light but haven't installed it yet. It is designed for motorcycles and has a flexible body so it can be bent a bit to conform with whatever you are attaching it to. It has a sensor that dims the LEDs at night. It measures 80mm x 10mm x 28mm. I plan on attaching it to the underside of my Mirrors for Sevens wink type mirror when the windscreen is on and to the top of the dash when using the Brooklands screens.

Mazda, Here's some differential info from Flyin Miata who are now installing LSx engines into Miatas. They have several choices depending on how much HP and torque you are planning on blessing the car with. Diffs for V8s

MoPho, Do you need an assistant on these kind of shoots? Please...

Chaz & Croc, My feathers weren't ruffled, I was just injecting what I thought was a little levity into the discussion, hence the here and there in my responses. Chaz, Let me tempt you a bit, here's a Link to my CL ad for the yellow Miata. It's called Vivid Yellow but it is the same paint code as my '92 Sunburst Yellow Miata. I've attached a picture of the two side by side. Skip
