The red car with the LS1 engine was bought by a dealer in exotic cars and will be up for sale on the Denver Mecham auction in August. http://forum.miata.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=219189&d=1433886718 http://forum.miata.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=219190&d=1433886728 http://forum.miata.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=219191&d=1433886973

A twist on the Aerial Atom showed up at C & C the last two months. They are made in Arvada, CO. I visited their shop today and got a ride in one of them. Three guys build these and their craftsmanship is very good. There are two varieties, one accommodates an Audi engine, either the 1.8 turbo or the V8 from the A8. The other car is for the LSx engines and uses a transaxle from the Boxter S. It is 8" longer in length but I think the shorter Audi engined cars have better proportions. There are plans to change the fabric body panels for fiberglass and also to add fenders. I got a ride in the black Audi V8 version which is the owner's personal car. It was a fun ride, although on city streets I got a good feel for the power and cornering as well as the ride. We also went on the Interstate. It has far less wind buffeting than my Caterham, probably due to the steeply raked windshield. Can you guess what that windshield comes from? http://forum.miata.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=219186&d=1433886638 http://forum.miata.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=219187&d=1433886649 http://forum.miata.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=219188&d=1433886661 Their website is at http://velocityrails.com/. I priced out a V8 version and it came to about $20k less engine and transmission. That includes assembly to a roller. They will also install your engine. If you want to assemble it yourself they will also sell you a kit that should require only some drilling, no welding or machine work.

Does it drive OK with the Bosch plugs? I use NGK regular plugs in my turbo Miata engines with good life. Spark plug wires are a problem in the Miata engine, seldom lasting much more than 40k miles sometimes going bad in only 20K. When they go bad they have symptoms very similar to your car's,

Be sure you visit David's home and sales shops while there. We stopped there on the GBB and he gathered up the local 7s and threw a BBQ for us. Ask for a ride in his supercharged Megabusa Caterham. You won't forget that ride. I still think about it from time to time 2 years later. -
Injection pressure can be misleading if you cannot test it under load. It might be worth it to change your fuel filter(s). You might have got a tank of dirty gasoline. Can you easily look into the tank to see if there is any sediment on the bottom or floating around?
-
Have you replaced the fuel filter lately? That's a symptom of one starting to get plugged up but it could be a lot of other things as well. Bad plug wire Injectors needing cleaning Engine sensors Loose electrical connector I suspect you know all the possible failure points.

Hang in there Shane, you will get through all this and find a "new normal" where you can still enjoy the finer things in life (high performance driving). Thanks for letting us read about the incident and your recovery. Skip

I think that is still undecided. The Mercedes club is handling the track day and will make the rules. There should be info coming out fairly soon. -

Get the brand and part number off your alternator and google it and see if replacements or parts are available in the US. If you can buy bearings it will be far cheaper than buying a new alternator assuming the bearings aren't so bad that the rotor has been grinding on the stator. You should also replace the brushes and sand the slip rings they ride on while you are in there. There's probably even a youtube video on how to overhaul it.

My Caterham has four rubber bobbins to mount the radiator. The intercooler is solid mounted to the radiator. I have had problems with leaks and am on the second radiator which has been epoxied twice now but seems to be holding its own. I suspect the extra weight of the intercooler is the problem. I don't think so, when he opened his wings after the stoop they were a very effective parachute.

Highest base jump for an eagle? Since it was from the highest building in the world it must be a record of some kind. :jester:

Congrats Nice looking Seven, I'm sure your dad will love it. Did you convert your Miata to V8 yourself?

BUD the Cowboy A cowboy named Bud was overseeing his herd in a remote mountainous pasture in Montana when suddenly a brand-new 2015 BMW advanced toward him out of a cloud of dust. The driver, a young man in a Brioni® suit, Gucci® shoes, RayBan® sunglasses and YSL® tie, leaned out the window and asked the cowboy, "If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in your herd, will you give me a calf?" Bud looks at the man, who obviously is a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully grazing herd and calmly answers, "Sure, why not?" The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell® notebook computer, connects it to his Apple i phone, and surfs to a NASA page on the Internet, where he calls up a GPS satellite to get an exact fix on his location which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an ultra-high-resolution photo. The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop® and exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg, Germany ... Within seconds, he receives an email on his Apple ipad® that the image has been processed and the data stored. He then accesses an MS-SQL® database through an ODBC connected Excel® spreadsheet with email on his Galaxy S5® and, after a few minutes, receives a response. Finally, he prints out a full-color, 150-page report on hishi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet® printer, turns to the cowboy and says, "You have exactly 1,586 cows and calves." "That's right. Well, I guess you can take one of my calves," says Bud. He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on with amusement as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car. Then Bud says to the young man, "Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my calf?" The young man thinks about it for a second and then says, "Okay, why not?" "You're a Congressman for the U.S. Government", says Bud. "Wow! That's correct," says the yuppie, “but how did you guess that?" "No guessing required." answered the cowboy. "You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked. You used millions of dollars worth of equipment trying to show me how much smarter than me you are; and you don't know shit about how working people make a living - or about cows, for that matter. This is a herd of sheep.” “Now give me back my dog.” AND THAT FOLKS IS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.

The Miller track was originally planned for Mead, Colorado, about 15 miles from my home. He already owned the Mead track and had bought another 640 acre tract next to the track and planned to build Miller Motorsports Park there. However, the city of Mead voted down his proposal even though the actual city was miles away on the other side of the interstate. That same month we also lost the 2nd Creek and PPIR tracks and the Woody Creek track near Aspen went private club. PPIR is back in business with an infield course that uses part of the banked oval. Miller then moved on to the current location and closed the existing Mead track after the motorcyclists kept bugging him for improvements. The Mead track was a fun place to run and it had a blind left over a hill with a dogleg in the middle and a hard 90 degree turn at the bottom called the Dragon Slide. Sort of its version of the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca. I have to wonder had the track been built at Mead that the larger population base of Denver might have made it more viable. I rented the Mead track a few times and held Miata club track days there. It was reasonably priced and a blast to drive. https://www.google.com/maps/@40.2348679,-104.9768139,986m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en

The Picture On The Night Stand After a night of making passionate love, in the glimmer of dawn, he notices a photo of another man on her nightstand by the bed. He begins to worry.. 'Is this your husband?' he nervously asks. 'No, silly,' she replies, snuggling up to him. 'Your boyfriend, then?' he continues. 'No, not at all,' she says, nibbling away at his ear. 'Is it your dad or your brother?' he inquires, hoping to be reassured. 'No, no, no! You are so hot when you're jealous!' she answers. 'Well, who in the hell is he, then?' he demands, getting frustrated. 'That's me before the surgery.'

A man was dining alone in a fancy restaurant and there was a gorgeous redhead sitting at the next table..He had been checking her out since he sat down, but lacked the nerve to talk with her. ******************** Suddenly she sneezed, and her glass eye came flying out of its socket towards the man. He reflexively reached out, grabbed it out of the air, and handed it back. 'Oh my, I am so sorry,' the woman said, as she popped her eye back in place. 'Let me buy your dinner to make it up to you.' ********************** They enjoyed a wonderful dinner together, and afterwards they went to the theater followed by drinks... They talked, they laughed, she shared her deepest dreams and he shared his. She listened to him with interest. ************************* After paying for everything, she asked him if he would like to come to her place for a nightcap and stay for breakfast. They had a wonderful, wonderful time.. ************************ The next morning, she cooked a gourmet meal with all the trimmings. The guy was amazed. Everything had been so incredible! ************************* 'You know,' he said, 'you are the perfect woman.. Are you this nice to every guy you meet?' 'No,' she replies. . .. 'You just happened to catch my eye.'
