Jeremy Clarkson Suspended from Top Gear
scannon replied to scannon's topic in Politics, Religion and Controversy
BBC has also cancelled the rest of the current season. Rather than sacking JC they are not renewing his contract which has the same effect. It will be interesting to see where he and Hammond and May land. The other two's contract's expire in a couple of months and they have said they will not continue on TG without JC. -
Mine came with a template for mounting the whiskers, last photo above. The whiskers were developed during wind tunnel testing (really!) some years ago. The addition of the whiskers and the CSR chin spoiler moved the scary speed from 120 to 135 MPH. Yes, I know the front tire is mounted in the wrong direction, we had that conversation here years ago.

Rumor has it he punched out a producer for not having a hot meal available at the end of a cold day of filming. May have been some argument prior to the punch. I suspect he will be back after some amends have been made. -
Real life shades of gray Back and forth . . . . Back and forth . . . . In and out . . . . In and out . . . . A little to the right . . . . A little to the left . . . . She could feel the sweat on her forehead . . . . Between her breasts . . . . And, trickling down the small of her back . . . . She was getting near to the end. He was in ecstasy . . . . with a huge smile on his face as his wife moved . . . Forwards then backwards. Forward then backwards. Again . . . . and, again . . . . Her heart was pounding now . . . . Her face was flushed . . . . She moaned . . . . softly at first, then began to groan louder . . . . Finally . . . . totally exhausted . . . . she let out a piercing scream . . . . She shouted: Wait for it.... "OK, OK, I can't parallel park. You do it!"

How much space do they take up when folded/rolled up for travel? Are they waterproof? Price for an SV?

Paul, Do you know the reasoning behind it and do they do the daylight savings thing?

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Daylight Saving Time - How Is This Still A Thing I would prefer to remain on Daylight Savings Time all year long or maybe split the difference and stay on that. There used to be some time zones in the South Pacific that were 1/2 or even 1/4 hour off the rest of the world. I don't know if they are still that way

207 mph in 250 meters! That's some acceleration. I wonder how many Gs that is.

An Arizona Highway Patrol officer stops a Harley for traveling faster than the posted speed limit, so he asks the biker his name “Fred,” he replies “Fred what?” the officer asks “Just Fred,” the man responds. The officer is in a good mood, thinks he might just give the biker a break, and write him out a warning instead of a ticket. The officer then presses him for the last name. The man tells him that he used to have a last name but lost it. The officer thinks that he has a nut case on his hands but plays along with it. “Tell me, Fred, how did you lose your last name?” The biker replies, “It's a long story, so stay with me. I was born Fred Johnson. I studied hard and got good grades. When I got older, I realized that I wanted to be a doctor. I went through college, medical school, internship , residency, and finally got my degree, so I was Fred Johnson, MD. After a while I got bored being a doctor, so I decided to go back to school. Dentistry was my dream! Got all the way through school, got my degree, so then I was Fred Johnson, MD, DDS. Got bored doing dentistry, so I started fooling around with my assistant and she gave me VD, so now I was Fred Johnson, MD, DDS, with VD.” “Well, the ADA found out about the VD, so they took away my DDS. Then I was Fred Johnson, MD, with VD. Then the AMA found out about the ADA taking away my DDS because of the VD, so they took away my MD leaving me as Fred Johnson with VD. Then the VD took away my Johnson, so now I am just Fred.” The officer walked away in tears, laughing.

It is their most popular show and one of the articles said it is their biggest source of income. I think the whole politically correct thing has gotten way out of hand. -

And next week's show pulled from the schedule! Looks to me like England and the BBC are getting too deep into the PC world. http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-31824040 -
In a Chicago hospital, a gentleman had made several attempts to get into the men's restroom, but it had always been occupied. A nurse noticed his predicament. Sir, she said ' You may use the ladies room if you promise not to touch any of the buttons on the wall.' He did what he needed to, and as he sat there he noticed the buttons he had promised not to touch. Each button was identified by letters: WW , WA , PP, and a red one labeled ATR.. Who would know if he touched them? He couldn't resist.. He pushed WW. Warm water was sprayed gently upon his bottom. What a nice feeling, he thought. Men's restrooms don't have nice things like this. Anticipating greater pleasure, he pushed the WA button. Warm air replaced the warm water, gently drying his underside. When this stopped, he pushed the PP button. A large powder puff caressed his bottom adding a fragile scent of spring flower to this unbelievable pleasure.. The ladies restroom was more than a restroom, it is tender loving pleasure. When the powder puff completed its pleasure, he couldn't wait to push the ATR button which he knew would be supreme ecstasy. Next thing he knew he opened his eyes, he was in a hospital bed, and a nurse was staring down at him. What happened?' he exclaimed. The last thing I remember was pushing the ATR button. 'The button ATR is an Automatic Tampon Remover. Your penis is under your pillow.' MEN NEVER LISTEN!!!!!!!

Shane, I sincerely hope it doesn't hurt you to laugh.

Fortunately the outhouse had had little use since the last pumping and nothing, liquid or otherwise spilled out. The front suspension took the brunt of the impact on the tire wall otherwise I would have flattened the facility. I did take the top three layers of dirt filled truck tires off. The rear tires were 3' off the ground when things came to a stop.

Fortunately the corner workers are not allowed in it while the track is hot. I can see it now, "please sir, tell the jury how you got a whiplash sitting in an outhouse". There was what we thought was a dead mouse but it got up and scampered away after a few minute. Not sure if it was making use of the facilities or was just in front of it.

Its hard to see how you sustained so much damage while the car has so little. I guess we will have to wait for the details, get well soon. Here's what my Miata looked like after leaving a banked turn at about 70 mph, never touching the ground until it landed on top of a tire wall. I was unhurt but the car required $7k to put it right again.

It sounds as if your battery charger is the normal type with several options for low, medium and high charging rates. Some of those can overcharge a battery which would be indicated by the heat and smell. A trickle charger or battery tender type will maintain the charge as needed without overcharging.

Interesting Facts About Crows! A fact you won't soon forget.... Researchers for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority found over 200 dead crows near greater Boston recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. A Bird Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be vehicular impacts. However, during the detailed analysis it was noted that varying colors of paints appeared on the bird's beaks and claws. By analyzing these paint residues it was determined that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, while only 2% were killed by an impact with a car. MTA then hired an Ornithological Behaviorist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of truck kills Versus car kills. He very quickly concluded the cause: When crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger. * * * They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout "Cah," Not a single one could shout "Truck."

There have been quite a lot of these types of rescues. Here's one that ended in tragedy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpR2S_gu5I8
