  1. When I added the chin spoiler from Caterham I cut the mountains off the top of the license plate, bent the Colorado lettering back and pop riveted the plate to the spoiler. I think this would work with the Euro plate if you have the chin spoiler. Several cops have looked at it and said no problem with what I have done. The ONABLAT is visible which is what concerns them. Down low on the spoiler the plate doesn't interfere with the air flow to the intercooler and radiator. http://www.britishv8.org/Other/SkipCannon/SkipCannon-E.jpg
  2. Just picked up my vacation mail from the post office and the poster was in there. It looks great, thanks Morgan.
  3. Reversed Dagmars?
  4. I had similar thoughts about the headlights that came with my Caterham. I found some motorcycle headlights that are smaller and a little more pointy on the backside. I like them a lot better than the originals. They put out a decent amount of light for not being projectors or HID lights. http://www.britishv8.org/Other/SkipCannon/SkipCannon-C.jpg I found some motorcycle turn signals that match and mounted them low on the panels behind the nose cone. http://www.britishv8.org/Other/SkipCannon/SkipCannon-B.jpg
  5. My Caterham has a build date of 12/03, the MSO listed it as a 2004 and the state registered it as a 2007 as that was the year it was first registered for the road. They get more property tax that way.
  6. Do you have an intercooler plumbed in there somewhere? 10 psi without some method of charge cooling is on the risky side of engine life which may be what caused the failure of the original engine.
  7. The questions I'm most tired of are: Is that a dune buggy? Does it have a VW engine? Is it a Morgan?
  8. Welcome aboard Martin. Great color on your new Caterham.
  9. Wow, Bessie the Seven finally comes out!!! She's looking great.
  10. You can wire a check engine light in parallel with the idiot light for the alternator. That way it comes on when the key is turned on and goes off when the engine is started. Gets you past inspection but doesn't provide any information as far as engine faults.
  11. I made a test version out of press board and it made no difference at all. Has anyone followed up on the theory someone proposed about cutting a 4" hole in the center of the windscreen to negate the low pressure area that forms in the cockpit? I plan on replacing my windshield after the GBB so maybe I will try cutting that hole at that time.
  12. Mike, Have you considered Lizardskin coating on those hot tubes on the console?
  13. Different strokes... I think that Z3 coupe is the only good looking car in all of the Z3 and Z4 series. However I could do without the extra tupperware hung on the one in the picture.
  14. A bit pricy at £3,900 and not very pleasing to my eyes. http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=27810&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=html&utm_campaign=2013-5-31
  15. There are a couple of pictures and a short article on Hank's Seven in the new issue of Hagerty Classic Cars magazine. Congrats, nice looking Seven Hank! There is also an article comparing the 1953 Corvette and Austin Healey 100-4.
  16. I'm in for one of the $18 versions if you decide to go that way.
  17. Michael, The shoulder is doing well enough that I am putting off the joint replacement surgery indefinitely. Not as strong as it needs to be but with the butt extractor I can still drive my Se7en. It was easy to make and install and didn't require any new holes or other modifications to the car. I highly recommend it. I have stopped doing track days because I am leery of doing further damage to the shoulder and forcing me to have the joint replacement.
  18. Great result CarMan! Was Charlie unhappy you got the EP lap record instead of him?
  19. Tom, I used a Hylomar sealant on the gasket for the fuel level sensor in the tank. http://www.hylomarsealant.com/ It is fuel rated but is much thinner than the usual silicone sealants. It will depend on how large the gap is you are trying to seal. Do you have pictures of the modifications you made? Is powdercoat fuel resistant over time? I know it will peel off if exposed to hot engine oil such as the inside of a cam cover.
  20. That's Saturday May 25th. Well worth the time if you haven't already seen it.
  21. Finally, an advantage of the deDion over the IRS.
  22. My SV has the extra diff struts and the side curtains still fit in the boot.
  23. I fold them and put them in the boot along with the hood and still have some room left over.
  24. The giant killer wins again - barely.
  25. That's kind of weird looking but I suspect it will help with the exhaust fume problem.
