  1. The awesome power of a wife's love A very old man lay dying in his bed. In death's doorway, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite chocolate chip cookie wafting up the stairs. He gathered his remaining strength and lifted himself from the bed. Leaning against the wall, he slowly made his way out of the bedroom, and with even greater effort forced himself down the stairs, gripping the railing with both hands. With labored breath, he leaned against the door frame, gazing into the kitchen. Were it not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven. There, spread out on newspapers on the kitchen table were literally hundreds of his favorite chocolate chip cookies. Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of heroic love from his devoted wife, seeing to it that he left this world a happy man? Mustering one great final effort, he threw himself toward the table. The aged and withered hand, shaking, made its way to a cookie at the edge of the table, when he was suddenly smacked with a spatula by his wife. "Stay out of those," she said. "They're for the funeral. "
  2. I wasn't aware there was a Top Gear Korea. http://www.autoblog.com/2013/02/11/helicopter-crashes-on-top-gear-korea-set-while-chasing-co/#continued?a_dgi=aolshare_email
  3. This car has been taken off the market.
  4. In 1967 he could have had a 427 Cobra for the $5k. They were discounting them heavily by that time.
  5. I had the same thoughts and I have never seen a stock Corvette with those valve covers and the wing nut hold downs.

  9. I don't have the car here so I was going by Mike's measurements. Go ahead with your suggestion of 146 x 155, I think it will work out that way. Thanks

  11. The owner has taken this car off the market for the time being. Edit: Wrong car. AFAIK this one is still available.
  12. Stephen, 5 1/2 inches high X 5 3/4 inches wide converts to 14 cm X 14.6 cm. Skip
  13. I was out a few times a week or so ago but the Caterham is now down for some winter repairs and maintenance. I did have the Miata out today for the monthly Cars & Coffee which had about 80 or so sports and exotic cars.

  15. If it is a German ad, why is the text in English?
  16. There is nothing in that ebay ad telling what the car is registered as. So I called the seller and asked him what it was titled as. His answer: 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.
  17. Sometimes the starter can still turn over the engine but the battery voltage is too low for the ECU to function. I've seen this before in Miatas. I charge my Odyssey battery at least twice a year for 24 hours with a charger made for AGM batteries. Its in its sixth year of use in the Caterham. The Westco AGM battery in my Miata is 9 years old and still going strong. I also give it semi-annual charges with the same charger.
  18. Different states have different laws concerning the registration of kit cars. Some allow you to title it as the car it is a replica of, others such as Colorado register them as a Kit or home built. The 250 GTO replica on a Toyota chassis would retain the Toyota title in most states. People do try to sell kit cars as originals but I think almost anyone buying a sports car would not be fooled.
  19. I agree on the '63, I had owned a '57 and a '59 Vette but the Stingray knocked my socks off. It was 1968 before I could afford one and bought a split window coupe. Loved that car. Fast forward to 1985. I had imported a gray market 911. I drove it for a year and put it up for sale. First call I get is from a doc with a '63 split window with 53k miles. He wonders if I would be interested in taking it in on trade on the 911. Hell yes I said as many happy memories flooded into my brain. We met, he drove my car then I drove the Vette. It was not perfect but still very good but after owning many Porsches, BMWs and Audis in the interim the Vette drove like a tank. Pretty much like I remembered from the past, its just that it was so obsolete in handling, braking (drum brakes all around) and steering that I just couldn't bring myself to do the deal. I do like the new one and have been scheming about how I could afford one.

  22. Caterham USA sells left hand drive kits but I don't know about getting them from the states into Canada. They could probably sell you the conversion parts if you had a RHD kit. http://www.uscaterham.com/showroom/showroom.html
  23. Stephen, I've emailed Mike to ask him the size of the one in his little 7 and when I get the measurements I will pass them along to you. Thanks,
