JBH, Thanks for your input. I have never owned a Porsche. I have a good idea of what I am looking for, Early cars are what I am looking at. RUST, RUST, Rust, is all I hear to stay or as some say, Run away from !!!! Then people like yourself make a good case for latter cars that will not rust around you, and are easy to work on . So I am reading all of Pelican Parts Tech pages and talking to a few Porsche people that I have meet over the years. I keep looking and learning, and some time I will find what I like and can afford. Looking at cars is fun for me , I looked for a 7 for a few years till mine turned up. Feel free to give more input !!!! Happy Holiday, Steve Novelli

Hi Tom, Glad to hear your Porsche deal worked out, I hope you get as much fun with it as your 7. I looked at a 1979 911 SC today, not exactly what I am looking for, maybe I can hire you , you seem to broker nice deals. Enjoy it, just not tonight or Sunday, it's going to be foul ! Steve Novelli

Evil, You have to remember you are dealing with Penna. DOT. They need to clean house in Harrisburg. These are the same people that asked if my S1 was CRASHED TESTED, I said not yet !!!! Welcome Home, Steve Novelli:shocked:

Hi J.R., Well I am not sure what its worth, S1's don't come up for sale to often. I been looking at other 7's on the market, and they been asking around 25 , give or take. I read a new Caterham is $ 55.000 for the top of the line. So I'll say $30.000 ??? And if anything, It will give someone, something to talk about. I don't have to sell it, and I still enjoy it . But it sits most of the winter, and I thought maybe something that is more winter or cold weather friendly. READ- EARLY 911, 68 to 73 . Or maybe a single seater, FA, FB ?? Radical ?? But then I'm back to summer use only with a single seater. Thanks for asking . Steve

Dermot, The BEST thing I read every month is MOTORSPORT, The original motor racing magazine, since 1924. Printed in the U.K., and sold at Barnes& Noble. Simply the best mag for us petrol heads. Steve  Oh Boy , Just got kicked up to Advanced, 1000 more and I'll get my Jedi wings, NICE

Dermot, If you are looking for good reading, put LEGEND of the LOTUS SEVEN, and LOTUS SEVEN & THE INDEPENDENTS. Both by " Dennis Ortenburger ,on your list. I have both, and enjoy them. I will have to hang on to mine,as both were given as gifts from my Family. Enjoy, Steve Novelli

Dave , I've seen that MONSTER on E-Bay this morning, and thought if I sell my S1, that would be a fun 7 to replace it. Alot less plush, and lot more like a track car. I would like to know alot more about it. Steve

To Pricey for a stock Zetec??? I paid $850 for a Zetec out of a wrecked Focus, and that was a complete running engine with 2800 miles on the clock.

I like to drive my 7 to most places we go, down the New Jersey shore most summer weekends with the wife. But Al's got a good point, I wanted to drive the old Watkins Glen road course last summer. And my two kids seem to like Vintage Racing, so we load the 7 on the trailer, two kids, 16 and 18, 75 pound lab, wife , me camping stuff, food, two women that like to travel heavy, dog food and god knows what else. It's a tight fit with the GMC Envoy. So to get it done I towed it. Not like my old camping trips, Packback was all it took!!!! Steve Novelli:nopity:

Sorry SW25, I got who I was sending crossed up. Glad to read that I am not the only English car guy, in the past we have had TR4's , 1275Cooper s, lot's of MGB's, English FF. And my father -inlaw has a TD, MGA, and a very nice 65 MGB, and when there is work to be done they leak on my driveway. If they don't leak, their empty !!! Cheers as they say, Steve

Mike, I used to Auto-x and solo 1 an old Formula Ford, and also had my ?'s on what makes it tick. I was limited on what I could to it , SCCA has rules about that. I found a place at the time in Wayne Pa., now they are in Fla. BAT Racing . The used to have tons of parts and Know -How on these engines. They are great engines, maybe alittle old school, but a good solid power plant. I do remember having a hard time finding a crankshaft, mine was not a up-rated block. Newer FF's use the uprated block. FF is still a big SCCA class, and they use the same engine, If you look down that road , you may find some answers. The fast fast guys have the engine built, and their are a few that do it very well. Ted Wenz,is the first name to comes to mind. I hope this helps, and if I find more detailed info, and I am going to look, I would be glad to help. I have to look in the garage, I may have info, I save all kinds of stuff, AKA, Pack Rat !!! Steve Novelli

This is the last photo, Promise !!! But it's a good one , John K tells of the Pocono fun, any 7 has to be a fun track car !!! The cars behind me always passed me on the BIG Nascar banks, and that is fun to see and hear them go by, and thru the road course I get ahead of a few, lap after lap ect...http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/537712155_Pocono with the S1.jpg
