@Sevins7 WOW! What a ride that auction was. What was it, $11,000 over reserve? You have to be happy that two people wanted it THAT much. Good luck with your move and the new adventure.

Some odd ball items with the Hemmings seven. What's with the rear fenders extending past the body? Did they have to move the rear end back to accommodate the Elan suspension? I've never seen front fenders like those. They list a VIN but do not show the plate. Why the cut out in the dash?

I see 24 people have viewed this already. If you haven't been contacted by PM yet with people asking about this car and telling you that you can or can't then I'll do it here. Sorry but the resounding answer is NO! My understanding is that the U.S. import rules are very clear on this subject; finished, legal for road use vehicles must be over 25 years old. I’m sure there are people who have done it, and may give you advice as to where to look, who to talk to about it however… Be forewarned, if you get caught you’ll lose the car, all the money you spent plus pay a hefty fine. Perhaps even jail time. If the owner is wishing to sell his newly finished car and he’s not already a member of USA7’s have him register and put it on the For Sale page.

So very sorry to hear this. At least you got everything back and only lost time. Hopefully you'll find a better shop that will be able to get stuck into your project right quick. Keep us updated.

It has been awhile, what's the latest news?

Now, what about that Birkin in Alberta? Same money as that BDA/R whatever? in NM went for for but a newer, completely turn key car.

That was a lot of money from where I sit for a dodgy pile of parts. Looked like it had either been left out in the elements for a long period of time, (and collected rain water) to the point that the seat rails were rusted solid. Or... It had been in a flood. The seller wasn't very forthcoming and seemed to go from smart to dumb in his answers (as I noted before).

This is the car that Time Machines sold earlier this year, correct? It was to new and too expensive for me then, however would I be able to afford it now with the extra 5% buyers fee and shipping from Arizona? Well, perhaps if someone was willing to store it in the Buffalo area for 6 months of the year it could then come visit Canada the other six. Ya, that might work. Now to figure out how to come up with the cash... Where's that head scratch emoji?

Just a couple of things? How about the seller?? He doesn't seem to have a clue. Is that because he really doesn't know or is this an act? I mean really, who mistakes aluminum for stainless steel? Quote from the seller: "...The pictures tend not to show very much, however, as the underside is just the stainless steel skin with the rear diff and the sump poking through it"

For those who ride and live in the southeast, the wife and I have decided to attend this years Ducks Fly South Ducati rally in Murphy NC. We'll be driving our black BRZ tS not riding. If you're in the area and want a great weekend ride with like minded people sign up. Go to USDesmo.com for info on the club, (you do not have to be a member) and then click on the DFS Rally. All makes are welcome. There is always a large variety. However, Italian brands get bigger smiles. If you do not ride and want to stretch your se7en's legs in the Blue Ridge mountains then come out and see a collection of fine motorcycles. The Cherohala Skyway maybe open by then with a temporary fix at mile marker 4.5. Pop & Pizza Meet-n-Greet Friday around supper time. Saturday has three, 3 hour routes with a common lunch stop. Saturday evening is a catered meal with bench racing in the parking lot to follow. Sunday is open. We usually get there early Thursday and go off exploring to places like Teleco, Helen, Dahlonega and such. The At some point we always visit the Veterans Memorial Park in Clayton, Georgia. I may even take the tS to the Dragon. I know there are lots of other roads that are better, less traveled but... I'll get my photo taken by at least three different people. eh! So, if in your travels your see a black BRZ tS with Ontario plates between the 12 and the 19th of September, That's US!

Yo @Baptistelake the wife and I used to ride all over that area. Now I'm looking for a seven so I can drive those roads.

A quick search shows that at least the one 1.7 BDR Caterham I found had the Engine No. stamped in place. This car has no such stamp. Doesn't mean it didn't come with the BDR or that the 1.7 I found hasn't had a new plate made. I guess you could contact Caterham for info but the auction will be over be over by the time you hear back.

If only the BDR seven was in the condition and location of the rotary car... Both are projects but one much more so than the other.

But isn't that the whole idea, I mean to drive more viewers to their adds. I'd think they'd be happy about it. It's not like Croc or this site is making money off of just sharing a URL.

I came across an interesting car that sold by auction in 2022 and is now up for sale by a high end dealer. I think someone went a little to extreme in lowering the shift knob. The first photo is from the auction ad. The second is from the current ad and you can see it is now much lower.

Well, I was the guy from Canada (or at least one of, if there were more). As soon as I read that ad I knew it was meant to be my car. It's like what I would have ordered if I had the money back in the day. Not the fastest, biggest HP tire shredding beast some people lust after. Just a nice mix of go, turn, stop in a stripped down package. Plus, the seller lived just 30 minutes from Marblehead MA. where DSK Cars was located. To me, that’s the spiritual home of Sevens in North America. I hope whoever got it paid through the nose. I wish them many miles of problems and frustration. (Oh wait, that’s most seven owners. Never mind.) I really hope that it doesn’t show up on BaT in a couple of weeks with fresh tires and quickie detail job. Now that would really frost my cookies!

Hi Paul, we share so many common interests. I’m a big Rickenbacker fan and guitars in general. I used to play finger style and own three Andrew White custom builds and a Duane Noble built harp guitar. Also love Italy. The wife and I spent 10 days touring Tuscany as well as Bologna and Modena as guests of Ducati. Speaking of which, I still have one motorcycle left. A 1998 900 SS Final Edition we bought new as a 25th wedding present to ourselves. I know a little bit of what you’re going though as the wife sold her Ducati Indiana to the then CEO of Ducati. He had a devil of a time to get the bike back into Italy. I love what you’ve done with your Westfield too. Hoping to hear more about you and your seven’s adventures in Italy.

On that thought, a good one for a Caterham would be a play on "The Cat's Pajamas". Perhaps CATS PJS. (Ontario can have 8 characters including a space.) I also like KIT CAT, FAST CAT and FASTKITY
