  1. Thanks!
  2. Although my "almost a Prisoner" is Ford Moonstone Blue, I'm considering having the nose painted yellow. Is that colour Lotus Yellow #7 or something else? My Europa came from the factory in Lotus Yellow #7. and from what I saw under all the repaints, it was a cracking colour.
  3. I presume someone in the Lotus LTD club. This track day was associated with (but not officially part of) the the Lotus Owners Gathering. Lotus LTD accepts Caterham and similar Seven-type cars. I like to run in the LOG autocrosses, but have only driven in the track day once, generally preffering to shoot the track days. I do often take advantage of the track tours. 213 IMG_2601 Caterham CSR at Thompson LOG39 track day at Thompson Speedway Canon EOS 7D Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM ƒ/16.0 100mm 1/320 400iso 26 Aug 2019 I think if you click on the picture below, it will take you to the Flickr page. You can look at other shots from the same album.
  4. Copyright Phil Ethier I understand why the forum software dumbed-down the image. You can contact me for the 1.6 Mb version. I don't charge for photos, but I request credit.
  5. He needs a lesson on how to tighten a lap belt.
  6. My indicator looks the same topside. One screw, one catch. It does not anchor to the strut. The two indicator mountings to the fender are much smaller, maybe #6-32 or the like. The two wires do not go through the strut, but run in a soft sleeve which is cable-tied to the square strut. Only the one hot wire goes through the back of the bulb-holder. The black ground wire is connected to one of the tiny mounting studs. Only the hot wire would need to be cut to remove the fender. The supply end of the wires comes out of the back of the pod for the main parking-light/indicator. Fender is attached to the square strut with a through-bolt that looks like stainless with an Allen button head. The end of the square tubing is open.
  7. I stumbled upon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-9YtFQzp2I which was shot just over a year ago in England. I was looking at that video and thinking that the car was Ford Moonstone Blue just like mine. Then I realized that it IS my car. I am holding that English number plate J976LKR in my left hand. Yes, it went to America. I bought it last fall from the gent who imported it from England along with some other Caterham cars.
  8. My friends (and some distant relatives) in Quebec will enjoy this more completely than I can. - Phil Ethier
  9. Coincidence. I sold a Yellow/Green 1979 Caterham 7 1600 crossflow to a gentleman on Cape Cod around 2010. I have since heard from another gentleman in the Midwest who had the same car.
  10. Because if you owned a normal car you couldn't get the doors open in that space? Sorry. Could not resist.
  11. I believe my 1700 Super Sprint was ordered as a complete kit, including the Prisoner wheels.
  12. If he was at a different college, he might have a different outlook. My daughter went to Marlboro in Vermont. She REALLY wanted a car there. She got her Masters at the Trachtenberg School in DC. She really didn't want a car there. When she came back to Minnesota, the first thing she did was buy a car.
  13. Chicks with hips no wider than 16 inches.
  14. I think the bonnet essentially holds the top of the nose in-place if the bottom is fastened. I'm not ready to rely on either concept, though: I think I am going to fasten the nose at all four locations.
  15. My 1979 Caterham had no heater. My 1991 Caterham has a heater, and also electric heating in the windscreen.
  16. I have been happy with the one in Burnsville Minnesota, but they closed it in September, No worries, the one in Roseville Minnesota is still open and they are moving the Burnsville stock there.
  17. There is another car forum that has a section for politics. I studiously avoid that section. I do not want to know the political views of people I meet on car fora.
  18. Just in the last month of the 1940s.
  19. I bought my Elise in Park City. It's gone now, replaced by a Cayman and a Caterham.
  20. Wow. This is why I do USA-style autocross. I have neither the talent nor the courage to drive in traffic like that.
  21. The opposite thing that happened to me on my yellow 1979 Caterham. I was told the rear axle was Morris Marina. Ordered Quaiffe TorSen and 4.11/1 gears. Turns out it was was Ford axle. Grr. Venders were very nice to me and took back the stuff and got me the correct stuff. No worries with my present 1991. DeDion that already has a conventional LSD. I probably won't mess with it.
  22. Dune buggy? Series Four? ;-)
  23. An excellent choice.
