I would like to see this statement fleshed out a little, as I really don't understand what it means.

My father had a 1932 Auburn cabriolet until my grandmother made him sell it (to Ralph dePalma) when Roosevelt sent his naval reserve unit to Pearl Harbor aboard WARD. That car had wood artillery wheels, double sidemounts with mirrors like this Duesenberg, a rumbleseat, and a golf door. I finally made it to the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg museum. The most recent trace he found was in West Saint Paul in 1965. I have no idea if the car still exists.

CSR 260 at today's MAC autocross. It is obvious that I have not gotten around to washing the entire car. I did wash the hood (bonnet) before applying the numbers and class letters. The wide photo is the view from my air-conditioned truck. It was 100 degrees F at the event. I was happy to have the Soft Bits For Sevens "Storm Cap" to keep the sun off the seat. In my assigned grid, I did not have a choice on the direction the car would face. While I was seated in the CSR waiting for my runs, I would certainly have appreciated a Bimini on the cage. 116 entrants recorded scores. There were two Lotus Elise cars. Heidi's Elise is returning to her grid spot after a run. I had the only Seven at the autocross. I had lots of fun despite the weather. I also gained further evidence that Toyo 888s are terrible tires for autocrossing with a light car.

We have lots of bays in Minnesota. We even have a Bay Lake.

I dropped into the Puma dealer at the local outlet mall and picked up a pair of Ferrari-badged Puma shoes for 42 USD. Got back in my Porsche, went home and tossed them into my Caterham. Of course they don't stay clean.

Gapped them to .032 inches (.81mm). Started on the first crank. Idled more smoothly than before. Let it warm up for a bit and shut it off. Never got in the car, so never touched the throttle. I hope to be able to drive it this weekend.

The Engine Handbook I have for my Caterham CSR 260 calls for spark plugs NGK BR7EFS and I have a fresh set. The Engine Handbook does not specify a spark-plug gap. What should I set the gap to?

That's what I have with my 5 Prisoner wheels.

I think I would like to have a Bimini for the CSR. It has an SLR cage and no full windscreen so the half hood from Soft Bits For Sevens won't fit. 74PHIL does not need a Bimini. The full hood with the backlight zipped open does the job.

How can I find out if my Birkin has an AX block? Engine serial number?

74PHIL has this style roll bar. I had to take it out to do other work. I had to pry it out of the chassis with a wrecking bar my father had made out of a car spring. This is after taking out the secret bolts that required the removal of the coilover units. Upon reassembly, I thoroughly cleaned the cup in the chassis and the tubing end, then swamped them with anti-seize. If I ever have to take it out again, I don't want to repeat the hours of prying.

I have found that A052 (that is ay-ZERO-five-two) tires are great for street and autocross on light cars. NOTICE: maybe the 13" tires from KitCarDirect are not DOT in the USA. I don't know.

It might be worth noting that for searches and the like that these excellent-for-light-cars tires are not AO52 (ay-oh) but A052 (ay-zero).
