Congrats! Sharp looking car!

Took the Cat out two days after Christmas to Shelbyville, TN. Nearest Green is the man who taught Jack Daniels how to make whiskey and was his first master distiller. Nearest Green, Jack Daniels and George Dickel are all within 30 miles of each other.

After reading 4 or 5 blogs on building a 7, I was concerned about a few things myself. First was missing parts, second was things not working properly (gas gauge, lights) and third was car not starting due to whatever. I got my kit towards the end of March this year and went through the inventory. I didn't get the half-roof and was missing the top grommet in the steering tube. I let the dealer know and got the missing parts delivered in due time. As I was assembling the car, I found I was missing a bolt which I was able to get at Lowes. I followed the build manual and suggestions from the blogs. The car came together and by mid April I was taking my first spin around the block! I was concerned that the gas gauge might be off but it appears accurate. It does jump around a bit when going around a corner but I aim for the gas station when it reads about 1/4 tank. Others have had problems with the speedometer not reading accurately but mine was spot on at 30 and 40 MPH per the speed zone cameras that tell you how fast you're going near construction areas. It took a little bit to get it registered but by the end of July, I was legal in Tennessee. I've put over 2800 miles since then and am having a blast with the car. You are going to enjoy the project and remember that you have lots of experts on this site willing to jump in and help if you do run into issues.

Enjoying some mild weather in November with a drive to Bell Buckle, TN. You can have some fun at their famous (maybe locally famous) RC Cola and Moon Pie festival in June.

England? Germany? France? Nope. Middle Tennessee. Enjoyed the 70 degree weather, drove by Castle Gwynn near Arrington, Tn. They host a renaissance festival every weekend in May. I've been able to put on over 2500 miles since the end of July! Having a blast with this fun little car.

I would wait on the cage before putting the dampers on. You can put the differential in but I wouldn't go any further. I finished my 7 this past June, definitely want to get the cage installed first.

Enjoyed some back roads in middle Tennessee. If you are ever find yourself near Normandy, TN, check at the George Dickel distillery in Cascade Hollow. Free samples and tours, might even get my brother as a tour guide!

Took the car out to Percy Priest lake, not too far down the road from where I live. Monday mornings are a great time to get out on the roads around here, everyone is at work!

Nice looking! Got to enjoy every sunny day! -
Curious how your build went. Since my last post, I have received/built my 7 and have it on the road. Hope your build went smoothly and you are now enjoying your new ride.

New Build, Indicators and Flashers Stopped Working
TN_Scooter replied to TN_Scooter's topic in General Tech
Just a quick update, I pulled the relay and the fuses. Tested all, they were good. Plugged all back in and the flashers / indicators have worked every time I tried them since. Still not sure what the issue was but am happy that everything is working. -
I just put my 7 together about a month ago. I would take the rear plug out and tip the engine and transmission to pour out the trans fluid. Use a large, clean bowl to pour the fluid into. Cover up the fluid until you are ready to refill the transmission. Should be no problem reusing the new fluid. Other option is removing the yoke from the drive shaft and using it as a plug while installing engine/transmission. Be sure to secure the yoke to the transmission before tilting it into the ending bay. Just my 2 cents.

CBuff, this is great, Could not find the fuse layout anywhere. This will give me a good starting point. Thanks! -
New Build, Indicators and Flashers Stopped Working

The emergency flashers do not work (they did during initial testing). Not sure which relay to pull. Looks like there are six of them under the dash. -
This is a new build, 420S. After putting the battery in, I checked all the lights, flashers and indicators. Everything worked fine. On my first test drive around the neighborhood, I put the turn signal on at the second or third turn, Half-way through the turn, the beeping stopped. The turn signals stopped working. After getting back to the house, checked everything for loose connections but still no flashers or turn indicators. Took the car out today for a short test drive and the turn signal worked for about three flashes then again, no beeping and no flashers. Got back to the house and pulled all the fuses to see if any were burnt, all were fine. Open to any trouble-shooting ideas. Thanks to all for any help.
