    My Kind of Cop

In Louisiana you can be ticketed for hogging the left lane. Not sure what legal name they call it.
  4. I took the plastic stops out of my steering rack (1 on each side). Took all of 5 mins. Cut the zip tie on the boot, slide the boot forward, and grab a dremel and cut the plastic stop off. Put the boot back on, and cinch it down with a new zip tie. Make sure your front wheels will not contact anything with the new found geometry change. My left front wheel comes 1/2" from the exhaust header. AMAZING DIFFERENCE! No longer do I have to make a 32-point turn to get out of a tight spot. And I don't have reverse.
  5. If spending it over time is okay with her then just get a 6 year loan.
  6. Tom, no harm. The forum we chat about all things military has shortened it to just "deuce". Thank you for your service!
  7. I finished the website for Isabell, my Deuce. http://www.hanksdeuce.com

  9. I left the Megabusa in the garage and drove the Deuce to a car show. The kids loved it! Glad you had no problems getting her back on the road.
  10. Had me going there!

    Bridge

Meh, the deuce would have drove right across.
  12. Needs more excitement. They need to mount an ooga horn on the handlebars and hit it once in a while.

    Mice suck

I went to crank my Subaru WRX one cold morning and got nothing. I popped the hood and a mouse scurried off the top mounted intercooler. She left a bunch of little pink mice on the intercooler after she left. Turns out she chewed through the throttle position sensor and it freaked out the ECU. Well, I had to go to work so I broke out the soldering iron, heat shrink tubing and extension cord. Once I fixed the car I took care of the mice problem. It's like a mice penthouse. http://72.9.148.82/~rufridr/ruhroh/engine.jpg
  14. I could take a few miatas from the local autox and put them in the deuce. Take them to an undisclosed location and set them free. Like mean people do when they don't want their pets anymore.
  15. Well, I have been interested in these: http://powerdecks.com/product_display.aspx?product_guid=SuperDeck
  16. intimidate.
  17. Gary, I quickly learned not to wrap my thumbs around this steering wheel. I cup my hands along the circumference of the wheel. Those big tires catch something and they will break a thumb rather quickly! After completing the turn I simply let go of the wheel to center back (hands close to the wheel though). No power steering so she's a pain in the butt to steer unless you are moving. I would like to retrofit the air-assisted steering unit but it is quite expensive. A hydraulic steering kit is $2000+.
  18. She weighs 13,530 lb. Top speed per GPS was 58 mph. I always wanted an off-road vehicle to hang out with that group of people. I like the group of people that own used military vehicles too. There are a few rallies scheduled this spring and I can't wait to go to them. Alaskossie: drool! Amazing fleet you got there.
  19. In preparation for the Mayan calendar running out next year and the imminent zombie invasion I bought my first checklist item: M35A2 W/W 13,530 lb - curb weight 23,530 lb - GVWR The M35A2 is popularly powered by a LDT-465 engine made by either: Continental Motors, Hercules or White. It is an in-line 6 cylinder, turbocharged multifuel engine, 478 cubic inches, with 134 bhp and 330 lb-ft of torque. This is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission and divorced 2-speed sprague-operated transfer case (Rockwell 136-21). Multifuel engines are designed to reliably operate on a wide variety of fuels, to include diesel fuel, jet fuel, kerosene, heating oil, used motor oil, transmission fluid or gasoline. Gasoline should only be used in an emergency because it does not properly lubricate the injector pump. While using gasoline, common practice calls for the addition of at least 1 quart of clean motor oil per 15 gallons of gasoline for proper pump lubrication where available. 9-11 mpg. Axles:Rockwell FC 240 HXI front; Rockwell CF 240 HX3 rear Differentials:6.72:1 ratio Brakes:air assisted hydraulic (no CDL required) http://www.hanksdeuce.com/images/01.jpg http://www.hanksdeuce.com/images/02.jpg More pictures and videos to come!

    Torque wrench

Don't forget to put your torque wrench back to zero before you put it back in the toolbox.
