    we have cat s3 built in 06 with focus svt engine oem ecu. it use std cat key w/o chip . under scuttle zip tied is ford pats module with chip taped to it. module is black plastic rectangle with ring on it for install on steering column . cat harness was "married" to ford harness by RMSCI .. salvage engine came with ecu and matching keys

    our car built 2006 with zetec svt motor has yellow valve cover.. this was just a powder coat option from engine supplier RMSC.. zetec contour has vct on exhaust cam .. zetec svt has vct on intake cam ..

    straying to far from recommended oil viscosity can affect the operation of VVT solenoid. in some engines it will set a fault code.

    just checked our car . turn signal & hazard flasher use same "relay". it's second one from top on our fuse panel. also a bit larger than the other 4 relays.

    just checked our car -2006 cat with svt. I added a extra strip of foam weather strip to nose to raise hood slightly above solenoid about 1/16 " clearance. I think it's better to raise hood than put any pressure on top of " very expensive , hard to get " solenoid.

    temp sensor on top of stat housing sends info to ecu , sensor for gauge is located on bottom left of same housing is for gauge.

    this switch controls rad fan only. i replaced mine with vw part 823 959 481F/92. you're correct about 92/87 it's temp when fan turns on/off. switch is used on older water cooled vw's .check threads , my car has rad with plastic tanks.

    I'm assuming since this a new build , you have a OBD2 port . plug in a scanner & see if there are any codes . could be IAC valve or TPS sensor or ??

    I know I'm late to the party , 2000 & 2001 caterham's that are for sale in San Francisco area have std zetec engines not SVT version , (wrong valve cover & intake manifold) also there is no IMRC control . SVT Focus was built 2002 thru 2004 . yellow valve cover was a powder coat option from RMSCI . factory color is silver.

    Does anyone know if jon nelson still around . Is he still associated with caterham in any way ? What happened to his inventory ? He was the only good source for parts stateside. Will superformance stock any parts for older cars in the US ? Just Curious !!

    need to buy heated windscreen for caterham S3 . while driving home from watkins glen yesterday , truck kicked up marble sized rock , result is 1/16 deep chip , 2" dia. & 4" dia. concentric cracks. thought some one who has changed to aeroscreen or brooklands might have one to sell . if not I'll order new from Cat USA.

    I have a mike rohaley skid plate on our car (2006 caterham S3) , it's been "tested" several times and works very well. there are some photos somewhere in the archives. any skid plate is better than none at all. I also have a alderman plate that is not being used . if interested PM me.

    I used napa 3481 ,same as wix 33481 . napa filters are made by wix .

    we will be there. depending on weather report, we will be in caterham or audi. our hotel res. already made . as stated in past posts, book early. rooms go fast . plan on rain at least one day.
