  1. Too bad the tours are sold out when I’m going to be in England. Will see if I can get in there.
  2. You may want to connect with the Lotus Owners of New York group, based in the Buffalo area. Likely to be some Sevens in that group. Lotus Owners of New York
  3. I recall a person I knew in Jamestown, NY making a Spitfire based “Seven” like car. This would have occurred in the late ‘80s. Unfortunately, I don’t have any photos and it’s been quite a while. I see that he died in 2018.
  4. Shorter air horns would provide more room for filtration.
  5. Note that the opening in the base plate of the short K&N filter will not allow use of air trumpets.
  6. It’s pretty important to have some filtration in order to prevent not just large debris but dirt and sand from entering the engine, which will cause premature wear of the cylinder walls. The opening in the hood of my car is somewhat restrictive and I’ve been using a short K&N filter. I’ve experimented with foam filters over trumpets, but they made it difficult to remove the hood.
  7. The same Compomotive wheels as my car. Have never seen a twin cam cover like that though!
  8. Thanks for providing the link! Can’t see that online; is a link possible?
  9. I’m in Canton. My car is a Series 3 chassis with the long cockpit and old style seats. You are welcome to come over and sit in the car. Unfortunately, driving (the real hook that will get you to buy one) is out at this time of the year.
  10. Nice work! Enjoy!
  11. Cool. Fast. Expensive. ”…cars have been delivered from the Netherlands to the USA.” How do they do that?
  12. No, $99 for an individual membership, which gets you a member number. It’s $249 for a business membership. No fee after that to roam the lot.
  13. Unfortunately, Copart requires a member number in order to enter the lot. It costs $99, so I'm not going to look at the Seven in Flint. Too bad, I was looking forward to it. The person I talked to said the car would likely be sold on Wednesday.
  14. Absolutely! Need a closer look at the data plate. Refresh my memory; where is the chassis number supposed to be on the frame?
  15. Copart is closed today. I may take a drive up there to check it out.
  16. I’ve stayed away from additives because of the concern that they can cause deposits in the combustion chamber. I use good quality fuel (Mobil 93 octane). The valves and seats are modern materials and my valve clearances remain within spec. I’d also state that I haven’t been thrashing the car on track, so that would also be a factor.
  17. Very nice and thank you for sharing your adventure. Will get to Spa one day!
  18. Me too.
  19. I purchased a rebuild kit from RD Enterprises.
  20. The cars in the first picture have license plates that are not California.
  21. An Elise is bigger than a Seven and more civilized too. It does everything right. It’s a relatively simple car and quite reliable too. The engine is in the right place and the driver feedback is unmatched.
  22. I will be there, but not with the Seven or Elise.
  23. What rubber or other isolating material did you use between the straps and the aluminum tank?
  24. Yes, photos please! I love project cars!
