  1. Sorry to hear of Dave's passing. Back in the mid-80s I was investigating Sevens; knew I wanted one but hadn't determined how to proceed. Dave Bean spent a good amount of time talking to me about Donkevoorts , for which I think they were a dealer. Though I ended up with a Caterham, I was much appreciative of the time he gave me. I ended up doing a fair amount of business with Dave Bean Engineering, in large part as a result of our discussions.
  2. Thanks. I remember that. Thought there might be something else to collect!
  3. Please tell us more about the RC Caterham.
  4. Low take rate, so don't bother offering it in North America? Desire to keep prices up by offering bigger displacement, higher horsepower engines? Don't really know why.
  5. Maybe that Sam Smith lives in Seattle had something to do with it?
  6. PM sent about Lotus 11 book.
  7. Pretty cool. Wonder where that car is today?
  8. i put a bunch of photographs and a video on Flickr and an ad on this site with a link to the photos. A quick, successful sale was the result. Ebay and others draws a lot of tire kickers. The folks here know what the car is and what they want.

    I'd drink to that!
  10. If you haven't gone to Pikes Peak and seen the hillclimb, you should. It is an amazing event, with an incredible variety of two and four wheeled vehicles. I want to go back!
  11. Yeah, probably 1972 or 73. My 2500M (sold to buy the Seven many years ago) was good, easy to work on with the flip up hood. Never considered it to be mid-engined. It's been a long time, but I don't recall the dynamics being anything like my Elise, which does fit the definition.
  12. Ooh, want it, though I'm pretty sure my wife would not appreciate it as much as me.
  13. I like! Thanks!
  14. Man, that is ugly.
  15. That sucks. One of my favorite magazines.
  16. Really looking forward to this!
  17. Check out this comparison between the Morgan and a Caterham.
  18. Can this thread be locked?
  19. Had to do so searching to find a retailer and the price, $126.00. http://banzaihobby.com/index.php?zenid=iggkcelovkk7htb8kaq979dng1&main_page=advanced_search_result&keyword=Yrs+roadster&search_in_description=1&manufacturers_id=&pto=&x=-808&y=-137
  20. Thanks for posting these! Good stuff!
  21. A comparison: Fun, but different than a Seven.
  22. My 1985 Caterham had the same; two breakers on the firewall.
  23. Caterham cars have never been inexpensive. Inflated to current value, my car (built in 1985) would be more than $39,000 today. Not cheap, but reasonable for the performance.
  24. Interesting, only 15 minutes from me and I did not know this dealer existed.
