I’m running these: Falken Azenis RT660 on my street driven ‘85 Caterham in size 185/60-14. Haven’t driven them in much rain, but the grip is good and there is some siping to push water out.

LHD Conversion on used imports from UK
MoBoost replied to Falcouver's topic in General Sevens Discussion
I cannot find any states that do not allow RHD cars. Been driving my Seven for many years now and it’s not an issue. -
Appears to be a non-standard part. I don’t have a photo of my engine with the cylinder removed to show. https://forums.lotuselan.net/t/cylinder-head-oil-restrictor/9945/4

Consider 195/60-14 size for which there are some 200 tread wear rated tires. Or switch to 13” wheels. tire dia. (in) tire circum. (ft) tire revs/mile 195/60-14 23.21 6.08 869 185/70-13 23.20 6.07 869 185/65-14 23.47 6.14 859 185/60-14 22.74 5.95 887

Switching from 14" wheels to either 13" or 15"
MoBoost replied to greasymonkey's topic in Wheels and Tires
My original tires were 185/65-14 and the 195/60-14 were only a slight change in circumference and revs/mile. Not sure about the fit on your car. tire dia. (in) tire circum. (ft) tire revs/mile 195/60-14 23.21 6.08 869 185/70-13 23.20 6.07 869 185/65-14 23.47 6.14 859 185/60-14 22.74 5.95 887 -

My car has 14” wheels and I’m running Falken Azenis RT660 tires (195/60R 14]. They are reasonably sticky and I find them to be good for road use. Available from Tire Rack. Falken Azenis RT660 -

Good job and nice video! Thank you for sharing! -
The Elan was in non-running condition. The air box was missing; it may have been in the boot or elsewhere. Frame was orange, so it may have had a Spyder chassis?

I like them: about 1500 pounds, 190 horsepower and the engine is in the right place. This one was imported before it was 25 years old, so that, along with a pretty big price tag, puts it out of consideration.

Quite a few nice cars and stuff in the auction. Planning to go out there on May 16 to check it out.

The Regular Summary of Classified Ads of Se7ens Found For Sale
MoBoost replied to Croc's topic in Cars For Sale
What makes you state that, please? -
The heater in my car is pretty effective at cooking the lower part of my legs. The upper half of my body is cold, so on average I’m okay.

The fuel tank is spoken for. Thanks.

I replaced the steel fuel tank from my car with an aluminum one. This steel tank is free, just pay the shipping or pickup from Canton, MI. Some light corrosion is inside; it does not leak. Dimensions are shown in the photos. It weighs 18.9 pounds (the aluminum tank is a touch over 8 pounds). Includes a functioning level sensor.

@dallasdude The Emira is great! It’s a V6, manual, Dark Verdant with tan interior. Living up to all of my expectations. I loved my Elise, but this is a better fit for me now. Schedule a test drive, but we know where that leads. Now, back to the regularly scheduled hose discussion.

Attached is the Gates molded coolant hose catalog. Makes it easier if you have a part number when purchasing from Amazon or local auto parts store. gates-molded-coolant-hose-id-guide_web.pdf

Having an automatic transmission put the 4C out of consideration. My wife was fine with riding in my Elise; not so much the Seven!

Thank you for posting these videos, particularly the latest showing the dry sump system. I’m still running a stock pan (with baffles) on my Twin Cam. My car is RHD and has heat which would make the plumbing for a dry sump different. You did an exemplary job of fitting all the hardware in!

Nope. One and only post. No PM either.

Push-button replacement for Dzus fasteners on Caterham nose.
MoBoost replied to pethier's topic in General Tech
Can someone please point me to stainless butterfly Dzus fasteners? I’ve looked in the usual places and not found a stainless version. Thanks! -
It may not be the perfect pair, but it’s a good one! It’s always great to jump into the Seven after a more civilized ride. My pair, which offer different but still great experiences.
