  1. Tom, When you open the PDF file, the info pertaining to Hans is located on the first page in the LH column under Shoulder Spacing (see photo below).
  2. The birth of Point-of-View . . . . . :iamwithstupid:
  3. Tom, Click on the link in my post just before you'res and look at page one. There is a reference for recommended shoulder spacing with respect to using a Hans.
  4. Received the April 2014 issue of Grassroots Motorsports today. On page 107 is an article titled Strap In (subtitled Is Your Racing Harness Safe). The article is essentially a harness-install checklist published by HMS Motorsport, the U.S. distributor for Schroth. The checklist can be viewed here: http://www.hmsmotorsport.com/docs/Schroth_Installation_Checklist.pdf If you don't already have the April issue in hand, worth grabbing a copy for the article. Fits well with this thread.
  5. DeanG, If you have a chance, you may want to add Eureka Springs, AR in the mix. :seeya:
  6. Yep, hard to beat a good read. :smilielol5:
  7. Well, now I know . . . . attempting to post emoticons from my mobile devises is all for naught . . . sort of LIKE THIS THREAD!!!!! :deadhorse::deadhorse: . . . . . and on a more important note . . . .
  8. 🎩 👀 👅 🙈🙉🙊
  9. Women are like cars: we all want a Ferrari, sometimes want a pickup truck, and end up with a station wagon. Tim Allen
  10. Hey, guys, I'd like to through a question in the mix for discussion; what are the pros/cons (personal and/or professional) with a camlock harness vs. latch and link harness (both are G-Force termonology)? Here's a G-Force link for reference: http://www.gforce.com/products/harness.php
  11. Yep . . . . that's me! :smilielol5: I should have some (hopefully, good ) data after March 22; doing a track day at Cresson. I'll let you know how it goes. This is going to be my trial run prior to NJMP.
  12. Yeah, but Croc, you have to consider the source here; to overuse the old cliche, I can tear up a steal ball with a rubber hammer. If blundering simple sync/video integration between Replay and Traqmate can be done . . . I'm the guy. :deadhorse::smash::banghead: . . . . :smilielol5:
  13. After I purchased my car back from Sharkey, I decided to replace both the driver and passenger harnesses with new units. After watching the following video, I quickly became convinced that I needed to revisit the harness mounting points on my car as well to insure that they were installed as per the harness manufacturer’s recommendations. The link posted just below the video is my harness install file. During the install, I followed, to the letter, G-Force's installation recommendations which resulted is an installation that ended up being much safer and extremely more comfortable for both driver and passenger: http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=21959
  14. I pulled the trigger on a second Replay last week. Gonna' see just how bad I can mess up syncing and data logging with two Replays and a Traqmate. :svengo:
  15. Daniel, I didn't/don't know Terry, and while I didn't always agree with what he said, I did respect his right to post here. Terry had some differing opinions about the various brands represented on the forum as well as some concerns about the hijacking of threads he had started. Several forum members hated to see him leave; I was one of those. Again, while I didn't always agree with what he said, I could respectfully agree to disagree. Every time a forum member leaves, that's one less member we have in an already small community. But you are correct, this is (overall) a great group and this is a fun and very informative forum.
  16. DeanG, When you get up in that part of Arkansas, it's a different world. In that area, you've got the Ouachita National Forest and Albert Pike recreational area. Hot Springs, AR is a great place to visit with a great walking area downtown; lots of shops and mom and pop restaurants. Lake Hamilton is located in Hot Springs. There's the Little Missouri river for trout fishing, but it's only stocked at certain times of the year, and only just below the dam in Nashville, AR. And if you are going to be there in a 7, the roads in that area are '7' Heaven; Google the Pig Trail (hwy 23). Old Washington Historic National Park is close by; James Black, a local blacksmith, back in the day, is credited with making the original Bowie knife. Old Washington was also the Confederate Capital of Arkansas for a couple of years during the Civil War. Williams Tavern Restaurant is also there, if you like the taste of home cooking. If you get up to Petit Jean Mountain, the Museum of Automobiles would be worth a visit. This will get you started.
  17. That's food for thought! :ack:
  18. Stewart, If interested (worth a shot?), you might try contacting Dick Brink at http://www.texasmotorworks7.com/ While Dick deals in Birkins, he may have a close ratio five speed in stock that you could possibly use.
  19. Here in the small community of Parker’s Chapel (2,500 . . . on a good day), we locals often seek out opportunities with built-in entertainment value; not a lot to do here. Sometimes, these opportunities are presented by way of another’s misfortune, such as the case in the following video. Entergy (our local power provider) had contracted to have the trees bordering their power line easements ‘trimmed’ via airborne assault; performed through the utilization of a Hughes helicopter. During trimming, a coupler on the trimming mechanism (I don’t know its technical term) fractured. The pilot of the helicopter, from which the trimming mechanism was attached, found a suitable landing spot, put down and proceeded to replace the coupler. The new coupler didn’t fit quite as it should, so I offered up the use of the ‘man cave’, and tools, for some minor coupler modification. After a quick trip to the man cave, the new coupler was easily fitted in place and the helicopter readied for launch. I grabbed a bit of video and this is the end result. Enjoy. :smash:
  20. Tom, Your two paragraphs sum me up pretty good; crazy, blind, critical, over the hill and a bit off camber, but I'm not very technical. But hey, on a more serious note, you've confirmed what I've wondered about (regarding turn 5) in the videos I've been watching. All things considered, I would think that a driver (especially one new to the track . . . such as me:willy_nilly:) would definitely want to make a conscious effort to ensure that the car is 'settled' prior to adding any additional steering input on the off-cambered, downhill side of turn 5. Either that, or 'Hey, here's the tire wall I was telling you about! Enjoy!" Feel free to 'wade' through my wording here and rearrange/correct as necessary for the benefit of all.
  21. Roger that. Watching the vids, I figured it might have been turn 5 (?) on Lightning.
  22. I think I know what 'back hump' Croc is referring to . . . . I'd like to get a photo of him pulling an Evel Knievel in July. :jester:
  23. Wheeeew doggie! I feel a hijack comin' on . . . . . . Enema, please!!!!!! Enema!!!!! :smilielol5:
  24. :deadhorse: OUCH!!!! Thank you, sir! May I have another! :smilielol5:
  25. Man! This thread is really ripp'n me a new one ......... Whoa!!! ....... Did I seriously just say that?
