Well, I can tell you that Suave ain’t happy about the sale. He’s in the toolbox, sulking, and won’t come out. :toetap05:

You’re a madman! My hat’s off to you.

A rookie by comparison, perhaps, But I’m a pro at off-track excursions, and at filling your rear view mirror with grin-inspiring images of dirt and grass while following (trying to catch) you while you’re happily giving one of my family members a thrill ride. :jester:

I just love the way you guys sling mud...so respectful...gentlemanly. :jester: And, Croc, I’m still waiting my ride in the HM Stang.

Kitcat, I saw that car in the lineup and wondered if it was yours, but the lipstick and top threw me off. Is that the same car you were using to dodge Croc and my son at NJMP last year? :jester:

Ted, That’s a fascinating story. Quite a hall for a tall guy in a small car. Reminds me of the Jimmy Dorsey and his Stalker. In 2014 (I think), he and his daughter did 48 states in thirty days.

Portable air tank. Blow it out with compressed air.

Mike, fixed your post! :jester:

Sounds like it’s doing exactly what it was designed to do.

Welcome to my world. :jester: -
I’ve used Tire Rack on several occasions over the years (since 2003...most recently, last year) and have never had a disappointment.

What they really sound like. :jester:

Oh, please...go ahead. I would. :jester:

Thanks, Mike. It’s good to be able to get the car out for a drive where I’m not fighting wind. Still, I can’t help but look at the car and think it wants to go snorkeling. The drag strip driveway has got me in trouble more than once. :jester:

Only Nurse Hilda is familiar with the location/number of my dimples...and that’s been awhile back now. :smilielol5:

Your fab skills more than make up the difference.

It’s that single rear wheel. Makes backing and aligning with the parking space stripe a real challenge. :jester:

A couple of winter projects for the Storker. First, was the re-installation of the Braille lead acid AGM battery. While the 5.9 lb Braille lithium ion is great for the track, it's simply not the most street-friendly battery choice for the LS engine. Starts, when cold, are easy. However, once the engine is up to operating temp, restarting the car requires a bit more finesse. Re-installing the 18.5 lb Braille AGM lead acid battery resolved all starting issues for street driving. If desired, the batteries can easily be changed for track/street use. Both are simply bolt in and make use of the existing pos/neg battery cables/terminal ends. Second project was a full windshield. While what I came up with resembles something that would be more at home on a side-by-side, the functionality is superb. No more wind in the face, or currents, pushing/pulling on my driving glasses; and this is with testing up to triple digit speeds. The windshield is easily removable for track use, but who knows, it may make for better aerodynamics. A few photos below (lithium ion mount vs. lead acid mount and windshield) along with a link to the windshield build file for interested parties. . . . :leaving: http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=32431

There is currently a loose nut behind the wheel. :jester:

Bonjo2, Sorry about the long-awaited reply. Been on a hiatus for a few months with a new job. No dimple die...Arkansas hole saw. :smash:

1) i think i'm in the need of a new brushed aluminum hood. anyone have any ideas where i could get that? Might check with a local race/fab shop and have one made. Or perhaps pick up a replacement from Caterham. 2) are there mirrors you can buy so you don't need to attach the doors? Mighty Mike (forum name) fabricated extensions for his mirrors. I built mounting brackets for mine. Neither car are Cats, but you may get an idea or two (see photos below). 3) the clutch is SUPER light making it hard to smoothly roll from a dead start. normal? it's possible that the accelerator is just super sensitive. which brings me to the next thing. Need some additional info: does the clutch release early (nearly, or at, the floor)? When the clutch releases, do you get a lot of chatter (not smooth)? Is the clutch hydraulic? If so, what size (bore) clutch master cylinder do you have? Do you have a clutch that’s geared more toward track use, street use, or one built for dual purpose? 4) the transmission is super notchy so it's hard to do a fast shift and because the sensitive accelerator? or light flywheel? it's hard to keep the revs in a nice place between shifts so acceleration is not that smooth when going through the gears. normal More info needed: do you have a light weight fly wheel? Is the transmission hard to shift because the clutch disk possibly isn’t fully releasing from the flywheel during shifts? 5) i had the soft top blow off on the highway too last year. seems like the buttons don't hold well at high speeds. normAl? High speeds are normal...tops aren’t. :jester: 6) i screwed in the front windshield (it came with just the short carbon wind deflector installed). just besides the screws, nothing else, correct? worried that might fly off too... Other Cat owners can help put here. IF you're wondering why i need a new hood: I took the caterham out for the first blat of the season.. more to drive it to my mechanic to go over a few small things. disconnected my battery tender, latched on the hood on one side (other side is tight because of bikes in the garage). started her up. reversed out. went into the house to get a few things and let the caterham warm up and off i went. on the highway as soon as i saw the hood flutter i knew i FORGOT to tie down the other side of the hood and just as i started to slow down it flew off! i'm grateful i didn't start an accident but the hood did get run over a couple times. i ran out and retrieved it. bent it back enough to drive on local streets to the mechanic. you can fix the hood.. but you can't fix stupid. Using this as fodder for my new book.
