  1. Beautiful Birkin you have - love the Chrome Orange paint!
  2. “What happened today was not death, but it was life to us,” Mr. Hashim said. I spent two-years deployed (two separate deployments) in Baghdad and witnessed the immediate aftermath of suicide bombings on several occasions. Hundreds of innocent lives were potentially saved by the "instructor's" error.
  3. I bet you could get some pretty high rpms with that engine.
  4. That's one of my favorite pastimes.
  5. Tom, You're right - I suppose enough is enough. I don't understand your comment about the pot calling the kettle black though. That's okay, I just have a public education. I never responded to his unsolicited PM; I just posted it to show why I would not miss him. Mike
  6. That's the method he chose, not me. For a little more about Terry's history bashing non-Caterhams, check out this thread... http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2420 Again, sorry to drag this on, but in order to keep this forum civil, we ought to be playing by the rules.
  7. I prefer camlocks because they are easier to snap in each belt individually. Too much fiddling around with the latch-type harnesses.
  8. Sorry guys, I'm not sad to see him go. One of the things I like most about USA7s is our common love for 7s, regardless of make. The fact that Terry blatantly and repeatedly bashed other "lesser" kitcars was clearly a violation of the USA7s rules. With this, I called him out. In doing so I critiqued his comments, not him personally. Shortly after I asked Terry to re-read the USA7s rules, this is the PM that he sent me. http://i60.tinypic.com/2a4xqx0.jpg Bye Terry! :Chevy_anim:
  9. That was a fun thread - thanks everyone who contributed!!
  10. Truly inspirational - thanks for sharing! Mike
  11. Looks like something my son would make out of legos or cardboard.
  12. Very cool! Wonder if something like that would fit in a wide-body Birkin?
  13. I wish Ford sold crate versions of their ecoboost I4 and V6 engines.
  14. Having owned both I4 and V8 7s, I can tell you that they both drive pretty much the same until the throttle goes down. Even then, it is fairly easy to modulate the power in a V8 - at least it is in mine - tire spin is optional.
  15. A 7 with a V8 is still a 7 - precision coupled with insanity.
  16. What are your thoughts on V8s in 7s? Pros and cons. Let's keep the talk focused as much as possible on the engines and not the brand of car they go in (e.g. Storkers). I am not brand-loyal to any seven (okay, slightly partial to Birkins), but do love having a V8 in my newest build. Not sure if I could go back to having an I4 regardless of the output (okay, unless wide-body Birkin). Pros of V8: cheap to buy gobs of horsepower - insane pwr2wt street cred with the muscle car crowd  Cons of V8 extra weight/larger frame overkill traction Mike
  17. I'd imagine the price tag on that engine is far out of reach for most 7 owners.
  18. Getting these cars on the road is definitely a team effort. Skip (scannon) was always at the ready to assist when I was going through the hurdles to get my car street legal last September. If it wasn't for Skip, it probably would have taken a lot more time and expense to get my VIN assignment.
  19. I am reasonably certain the application process is the same, not sure after that. Here's a link to the outfit here in Denver that I will go to. Their website may detail the specific process used for each type. http://appliedplastic.com/
  20. Thanks Shane! Spray-on PlastiDip is easy to work with as long as you spray it on in thin coats. The stuff dries to the touch rather quickly at room temperature, but it is best to let a finished piece to sit overnight before putting into service. My neighbor used PlastiDip on a set of wheels and the result was very professional looking. They seem to be holding up well.
