  1. Alaskossie, If you want to PM me your address, I will send you a sample of the 3M CF vinyl. I have extra out in my shop. Mike
  2. Alaskossie, Believe me, your fenders look twice as good as mine! I purchased mine from Texas Motor Works and was rather disappointed at the quality. First, while I paid full carbon fiber prices, all I got was carbon fiber weave over plain ol' fiberglass. Even then, the weave quality is average at best. Whomever made the rear fenders pulled them out of the molds before the fiberglass had a chance to fully cure as they required quite a bit of work to get a proper fit. On the bright side, they came to me with a nice clear coat. I had the front third of the rear fenders clear bra'ed. I bought a bunch of cheap polypropylene computer mouse pads with kittens and such on them and glued them to the undersides of the fenders, so I won't have to worry about stars and cracks. They're holding up quite nicely so far. As far as your stone shields are concerned, perhaps you could cover your existing shields with 3M carbon fiber vinyl in the direction desired... http://www.carbonfiberfilm.com/ or check out Carbon Mods... http://www.carbonmods.co.uk/Products/Carbon-Fibre-Polymer-Stone-Chip-Guards__CMSCGWFLD01.aspx Mike
  3. Bummer! Could have been worse. I went to grad school in Virginia (traveled to Maryland frequently) and found traffic enforcement geared more toward generating revenue than keeping the streets safe.
  4. Danny, I have not tracked my Birkin yet, so I have no basis to opine. I also cannot state that I have noticed any improvement on the street because the car has always felt very competent at higher speeds. Purely from an appearance stand point, the size I fitted seems proportional to the rest of the nose. A larger size may detract from the car. Perhaps someone else with canards can chime in?? Mike
  5. I put a Lotus badge on my Birkin. I also had a '69 Chevy Malibu in high school with all the 396SS trimmings. If I had a Cobra replica, I'd probably deck it out with all of the Shelby/AC badges. I'm thinking about putting Proton or Toyota badges on my real Lotus.
  6. Snobbery amongst fellow kit car owners? I'd perhaps be a little standoffish if someone showed up to a Ferrari gathering with a Fiero "Ferrari" replica, but we're talking about Sevens! I'm definitely interested in a national USA7s meet.
  7. Saw this over on BritishSpeed.com... http://www.britishspeed.com/forum/showthread.php?3690-1962-Lotus-Super-7-Replica-(5speed-Supercharged-v6)
  8. In terms of appearance, my least-favorite Lotus.
  9. Haven't owned one, but wouldn't mind putting a Panoz in my garage.

  11. I'd like to free myself of four stock Birkin wheels & two tires. All four wheels are in great shape, except one wheel has curb rash as shown in the photo. The clear coating on all four wheels is in average condition. 15x7, 4-100, 35mm offset. The two tires are Toyo Proxes T1Rs and they're in outstanding condition with even wear. They look like new. $250 plus shipping. PM if interested. http://i54.tinypic.com/1gg4rl.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/xmjzhd.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/25hn6ux.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/2qukm6b.jpg

  13. I retired in 2009 after a 23-year career as an Army officer. Still doing the same exact thing for the Army, but now out of uniform. I have nothing to complain about.
  14. Thanks Skip. My grandad, a first generation German-American, fought in the Pacific theater during WWII. One of the coolest mementos I have is a photo he took of the Japanese surrender at Guadalcanal. It shows a closeup of a Japanese soldier with his head bowed. The photo isn't necessarily the highest quality, but I prize it for what it represents.
  15. I apologize in advance to all whom I'm about to offend, but... ...scooter riders irritate the hell out of me! Most scooter operators riders don't have the balls enough to get a real motorcycle and too stupid to stay out of heavy traffic. Anyway, nice pic - thanks for sharing. There should be an effort to get more scooters off the street and onto racetracks.
  16. Oh, I forgot to mention, I drove by another Seven at Palmer Lake! Red and aluminum I think (I'm very color blind). I had an awesome drive.
  17. Recovered enough to drive my Birkin! Also drove my Elise. Probably will not be mountain biking for a while though. I still need a CT scan to determine if the vertebra has properly calcified before being able to come out of the back brace.
  18. I'm getting ready to drive to Sedalia in a few minutes. Beautiful day here in Colorado.
