Jeremy Clarkson Suspended from Top Gear

Recommended Posts

Clarkson made a habit of doing and saying stupid things to get attention & a laugh. After a while, that gets old and everyone tires of it. Just like the three stooges, how much can one take of that. He was also an elitist, if it was made in Europe it was superior to made in the USA. Recently, his stupid comment on the new Z06 that it wasn't a world class contender shows his rather biased viewpoint. The new C7 Z06 has outclassed the more expensive European at a fraction of the cost, has outrun the best at Nurburgring and the Spa, and sets performance numbers cars costing many times more can't match.....but Clarkson can't handle it. Screw the BBC and Clarkson, the pot bellied Brit, and others like him.

LOL, Welcome to the new world. Show me one car reviewer that is not biased in some way and I'll show you an unemployed car reviewer. All these guys have some kind of bias or attitude including the now popular Chris Harris who says the Miata is a shit box and is a horrible drive despite having sold over a million cars and raced extensively in SCCA. What you fail to see is that this is all just entertainment, and getting attention and a laugh is their jobs. This is not true factual reporting in any stretch of the imagination, but the subjective opinions of 3 guys who's main objective is to get you to keep on tuning in each week. Whether you agree with them or not, like them or not, it is inconsequential as there are millions of fans that do, driving the TG product revenues to 30 million a year. And speaking about factual reporting, show me one un biased news caster these days, they aren't any. The days of true reporters like Walter Cronkite and Chet Brinkley are over and all we have now is either right wing or left wing entertainers who report the news in their "special way" to insight fear and to divide our country even more that it already is. "Never let the facts stand in the way of a good story" seems to be the narrative these days, especially if it promotes your slanted way of thinking. So being indignant and pissed off at some stupid entertainment show is just silly. There are many more things you should be indignant and pissed off about that will affect your lifestyle, income, pension, and even if you will be allowed to keep or drive those great cars you own.

Rather funny how we have been so well trained by the media, politicians and their trained zealots to "Hate" & or "lob a nuke" in the direction of whomever we don't agree with, Rather than actually discuss it.

Now personally I tired long ago of the American auto mags, Simply because they always glossed over the "overall" package that is a car and tended to play a "numbers only" game. Biggest number wins.

As for TG. Jezza can be obtuse at times. But he speaks his mind & I find myself agreeing with him more than not. I remember the show where they had a Dodge Viper. Jezza slammed it (and rightfully so) Because the American engineers needed 488 CI to make 400HP/460 and the build quality was crap and cost $55,000 (I guess big engine means big price) Even if it's grossly under powered. That's embarrassing as hell. My Mercedes GLK SUV has a 2 liter 4 cylinder diesel makes 204HP/370 Torques. Think about that, Increase my diesel to the size of the Viper engine & were talking about 800HP. That's farther north of even the current SRT Viper's per liter output. That's why the Europeans mostly look at our cars and shake their heads. Jezza has also said that the "normal" Corvette (C6 I think it was) was a great car and had a nice ride as well.

LONDON – The former hosts of the BBC’s popular “Top Gear” program, who left amid scandal over an off-set dustup, have signed up to present a new car show for broadcaster Amazon Prime.

Amazon said Thursday that Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond have committed to three series of the show, with the first to be broadcast in 2016.

Clarkson said moving to Amazon’s streaming service felt, “like I’ve climbed out of a biplane and into a spaceship.”

Clarkson was fired in March after he punched a producer during an off-set altercation. The show’s two other hosts also left.

“Top Gear” won a huge global following with its mix of car tips, driving stunts and jokey banter.
