Croc
This is a Save The Date email so you can put placeholders in your calendars. For 2016, we will again be holding the event on July 4 long weekend, generously hosted by NJMP Drivers Club. A summary follows below and a more detailed organization outline will follow closer to the date. Friday July 1 - Arrive in the afternoon and set up. If early and if there is demand we could organize a karting event that afternoon. Our current plan subject to confirmation is a casual outside BBQ pool party at the NJMP clubhouse. Saturday July 2 - HPDE with Drivers Club on the Lightning Circuit. Breakfast, lunch and all refreshments included for paid up drivers and visitors. Evening dinner reception with other Drivers Club members at the home of NJMP track founder and all around good guy, Don Fauerbach. Sunday July 3 - HPDE with Drivers Club on the Lightning Circuit. Breakfast, lunch and refreshments included. For those staying over we are planning a dinner in the Breighton Room at the NJMP Clubhouse. Monday July 4 - Option for some karting competition before heading home. Feedback from participants will help us settle when it is best to hold the karting competition. We will be running the Lightning Circuit again as Thunderbolt is booked thanks to a longstanding hire arrangement. The Lightning Circuit is a fast little momentum circuit, well suited to our cars with a nice variety of corners and elevation changes and of course the bowl which is great fun to play with. This can be a frustrating track if you are out there with the bigger road cars like Corvettes, Mustangs or Porkers as they heavily brake in 2 areas of the track where a seven can sail through. However, we don't have to worry about that as having a sevens only run group means even the slowest CrossFlow is very quick through every corner and there are plenty of passing opportunities. Despite the HP disparity the past HPDE events flowed really well - so much so it really did not feel like there were many people out on track at all. All marques of sevens are welcomed to attend - Lotus 7, Caterham, Birkin, Locost, Brunton Stalker, S1, Westfield, etc. We will again set up a private registration page on Motorsportreg.com for signing up and paying for the Saturday dinner, visitors, etc., but don't expect this until say around May this year. NJMP does insist on vetting driver capabilities as this is an event they organize and are responsible for. They have a strong belief in safety which is to be commended. Drivers who have previously driven with this event will be evaluated based on their past performance. Drivers who are new to the event will be required to submit a driving resume for evaluation. This will be a sevens only HPDE run group session. To make it this way we have to compromise run group rules. It will be with passing only on straights with a point by. No passing in corners or braking zones. No passengers on track other than for Drivers Club accredited instructors. Usual safety gear rules apply - in date helmets, long pants, closed toe shoes, arm restraints, in date belts, head below roll bar level, car freshly serviced, etc. This is not a race - it is a HPDE event. Those wanting to come here and set lap records should find another event as the aim is to enjoy the dynamic abilities of our sevens in a safe environment. Full safety gear requirements will follow in a later update. Like last year we will have access to some instructors who are present as part of the day. Many of these instructors have driven and been passengers in sevens and know our cars well. They are very experienced and even if they do not accompany you out on track they will spend the time talking best lines on the track map in the pit building - definitely worth it for that. NJMP is located in Millville, in southern NJ, about an hour east of Philadelphia and 2.5 hours south of New York City. It is easily reached off I-95. There are a variety of accommodation options available. NJMP has pit suites (comfortable motel units on the NJMP property) or luxury villa accommodation over on the Thunderbolt circuit. Millville has a lot of hotel options - Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn, Days Inn, Quality Inn, Hampton Inn, Ramada, etc. This is not just a driving event but also a social event. Last year we had quite a few spouses present and enjoying the atmosphere and the evenings. We would love to welcome them back. There are a number of options to explore off-track if watching cars is not exciting during the day. The beach is a short drive from Millville. Cape Elizabeth down the Jersey Shore is well worth a visit. Atlantic City is 45 minutes drive away. There are a number of local wineries in the area offering tastings. The NJMP Clubhouse has a tennis court and swimming pool with full change room facilities Costs are not yet finalized but will be similar to last year based on current estimates (say $200 per day for HPDE, $60pp for karting, $40pp for Saturday night dinner/drinks inclusive, $30pp for day visitors to cover insurance, food, refreshments and the possibility of accompanying an instructor on track in a seven subject to availability). Some photos from last year to get you in the mood! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a354/mjohnson555/seats/CSR/2015%20Sevens%20Event%20at%20NJMP/WSPS-untitled-N.J.M.P.%20Drivers%20Club%20July%204th%20Track%20Day%20%20BBQ%20July%202015-0002_zps47g2huhc.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a354/mjohnson555/seats/CSR/2015%20Sevens%20Event%20at%20NJMP/WSPS-untitled-N.J.M.P.%20Drivers%20Club%20July%204th%20Track%20Day%20%20BBQ%20July%202015-0153_zpskr6cszra.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a354/mjohnson555/seats/CSR/2015%20Sevens%20Event%20at%20NJMP/WSPS-untitled-N.J.M.P.%20Drivers%20Club%20July%204th%20Track%20Day%20%20BBQ%20July%202015-0156_zpsvjlqwvth.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a354/mjohnson555/seats/CSR/2015%20Sevens%20Event%20at%20NJMP/23%20WSPS-untitled-N.J.M.P.%20Drivers%20Club%20July%204th%20Track%20Day%20amp%20BBQ%20July%202015-0001_zpsbxttaxrc.jpg Tom and I are looking forward to seeing you again in July 2016. Blokko
Hi both This event falls on the weekend of our 10th wedding anniversary, but I'm working on a plan to visit you before moving on for a couple of days to visit either Philly or DC. So I'd say we are a possible rather than a certainty - hoping that I can convince the bread knife that driving down Friday and sticking around until Sunday morning before moving on for a mini 'city break' is a good way to celebrate a wedding anniversary :-) We won't have a 7 by that point so we will be spectators only. yellowss7
Steve, I'll put you down as NUTS. We are a fun group but a 10th anniversary may need a little more sweetening of the deal to pull that off. :jester: But I do have a nice little yellow RoverK series that might bring back some fond memories. Blokko
Tom, in my defence I am taking the wife to Montreal and Niagara as an early anniversary present in June..... The fact that it coincides with the Formula 1 GP is purely by chance  Not only have both my 7's been Rover K powered, the last one I had was bright yellow :cooldude:

DaveD
Mike, If I brought a camping trailer down, can I set it up at in the Paddock of Lightning for both days? And is there a cost to do that? Thanks, Dave
Croc
And the answer for Dave is here: http://www.njmp.com/facility-rentals-and-amenities/#Camping CAMPING Tent: $10 per day RV: $25 per day Note: Electric is not included. Club camping cannot be purchased in advance. Please visit the Registration building upon your arrival to purchase camping and electric. Spectators are not permitted to camp during club events. Requirements: Campers must purchase a multi-day ticket in order to purchase a camping pass and stay on NJMP grounds. Guests with one-day tickets may not purchase camping passes or camp at the track. Process: Spectator camping entry time is 7 p.m. on the day before of your ticket. For example, if you have a Saturday/Sunday ticket, you may enter the park starting at 7 p.m. Friday Night. Season ticket holders may enter starting from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. prior to the first scheduled day of the event, and anytime after from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. each night of the event weekend excluding Sunday. Guest entering NJMP with camping permits must purchase all required weekend tickets. All spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the limited number of space, we strongly encourage purchasing either online or via phone in advance. Amenities: There are showers in the first floor of the Officers Club located in the Thunderbolt Raceway paddock. English Sewage Disposal will provide tank-pumping service for RVs on Friday and Sunday of race weekend from 7 a.m.-9 a.m. Vendors accept cash only. Payment is due directly to the vendor at the time of service. There is no dump station on the NJMP property. Guests caught dumping tanks on property will be subject to a minimum $1,000 fine. Electric Low Voltage (110V) $15 per day High Voltage (30A, 50A) $25 per day Whole Box (2 low voltage, 2 high voltage) $35 per day Contact the Registration office at (856) 327-7256 at least two weeks prior to the event. Your camping pass, parking pass and tickets (if purchased at the same time) will be mailed to you. Camping purchases made within two weeks of the event will be held at Will Call. CAMPING GUIDELINES & GROUND RULES The following are NJMP Camping Guidelines for the 2015 season. By purchasing a camping pass and camping on NJMP property, you and those in your campsite are responsible for abiding by these guidelines. Failure to do so may result in dismissal from the facility. For additional camping guidelines and ground rules are available at the registration office. Camping pass & parking pass display: When purchasing a camping pass, guests will receive one vehicle camping pass. Camping passes are required to be attached to the drivers side mirror. Each vehicle who plans to camp at NJMP requires a camping permit. Unit spacing: To comply with fire and safety regulations, all camping units (including personal automobiles) must be separated by at least 5 feet. Campfires: Campfires/ground fires are not allowed. Noise: We ask that you be respectful of your neighbors. Quiet time in the campground goes from 8:00 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. During that time un-muffled engines must not be run and loud music should not be played. Firearms and fireworks: Firearms and fireworks are prohibited anywhere on the grounds. Alcohol: Beer in coolers is permitted for individual consumption in the campground areas. Drugs: Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited at NJMP. Children: A responsible adult must closely supervise all children less than 17 years of age, as per NJAC 13:62-3.15A. Pets: NJMP discourages bringing pets to the track. Pets will be allowed if they are leashed. Cleanup is the responsibility of the pet owner. Otherwise, NJMP will fine the owner and both may be asked to leave the facility. On days warmer than 70 degrees, pets may not be left in cars or trucks unless the vehicle is running and the air conditioner is on. Pets are not allowed in any of NJMP’s buildings: classrooms, VIP suites & Villas, or any food concession areas. Asphalt: Do not pound stakes or make any holes in any asphalt surface. Do not paint any asphalt surface. Offenders will be held liable for all damages and may be ejected from the property without a refund. If you must temporarily jack a vehicle on asphalt, you must have metal or wood under the jack and jack stands. No exceptions. Track close: NJMP will close at 7:00 p.m. on the Sunday of an event weekend. Unless other arrangements have been previously made with the NJMP Registration office, your campsite must be dismantled, cleaned and exited by this time. Don't believe the above - you can make camping arrangements as you arrive. Now I don't recall anyone paying for camping in the past (maybe they should have?) and no one chased them up but they did charge for electricity supply through the boxes in the pit paddock. Mario, Michael D and someone else camped there before. You could set up 1 row back in the pits from where we usually set up or run the electric line from the box to our usual set up point. Showers are at the clubhouse (pool change rooms) or at the officers club at Thunderbolt. Another option is to set the RV up in the parking lot of my garage and run the electric under my garage door to power your RV. That is condo association land and I think we can allow that!
