Hi,

I had the car on eBay, but it failed to sell so if anyone's interested I've created a page with videos and images https://ashevillecaterham.blogspot.com/2020/07/2005-caterham-for-sale.html

It's a 2005 SV model with an SVT motor. Overall in good shape, but for damage to teh skin around the suspension. Description int he link above as well as may photos. I'm located in Asheville, NC

Hope you're all doing well

Steve

Why hasn’t this sold? Great value. Looks fantastic - the Lambo orange color suits a seven really well. Good spec. I think I drove this exact car back when George A had it. It deserves a good home.

Put it on BAT: you will get your $28K and likely much more. I agree with Croc, what a great car at a great price. After the BRG color, this orange color is my fav for a Caterham.

Thanks, guys

Honestly, I had expected more interest in it, aside from its wrinkle on the side it's a really good car.

Anyway, it's gone to a new home now with an enthusiastic owner. Sad to see it go, but you can't keep them all.

Hope you're all doing well.

Steve

It was great working with Steve and I am happy to announce I am the new owner of the Seven. I have always wanted one and can't wait to get out and drive! I just got it back to Alexandria, VA and it has caught the attention of the neighborhood, so much so I was giving short rides around the block. I am sure I will have questions in the future since this is my first Caterham so thanks in advance.

Congrats. I see you found one after all without needing BaT in the end.

Congratulations on your new purchase! Good to see you found a Caterham after your searching.

If you want a gentle introduction to HPDE this year then this event is coming up:

Thanks everyone! I had much rather buy a car in person, be able to look it over, and learn the history from the owner than bid on a car unseen and pay a buyers premium. It just so happened this car checked enough of the boxes and was in the same area as a trip I had planned.

I will have to mark down the HPDE date, the event sounds like a blast!

To save you some drama if you're seriously considering going this year, you will need to replace your driver side belt harness because it's likely out of date and NJMP inspection checks it.

With that said, it's incredible fun to go and meet the crew and participate in 7 only session. Afaik it's the only event of the type in the country and every year it gets harder and harder to keep having it. I believe Mike and Tom are the two main organizers behind the event and go through great lengths and challenges to keep making it happen. If you have means and ability, I strongly recommend it.

Vlad here is talking from painful experience on the belts. Prepare in advance - in-date 5/6 pointer harness, either SFI or preferably FIA labelled (longer expiry on FIA belts).

Its not just HPDE, its intended to be social and build up a support network for all of us to call on. You can meet people who will be local to you for backroad drives, seeking out parts sourcing, upgrade solutions, etc. There are not enough of us around so we need to look out for each other.
