Taber10
I know it is a bad idea to go to anything right now, and I know the Carlisle event isn't like it was as "Import and Kit Car Nationals" but Is anyone planning on going next weekend? Croc
Sadly the Carlisle show is a sad shell of its former greatness. However, I do get the desire to escape to something in these times. Apologies but I will be at VIR next weekend shaking down/setting up the BMW.
Kitcat
Croc: Why VIR for the shakedown? How are you getting the car there? I assume you have a "crew" going with you?

Croc
It’s complicated Mike. It’s a Driver Club VIR event three day weekend - I am eligible to participate. There are 4 cars going down with TJ and Ian. There would have been 3 more but their drivers ran out of talent into walls last weekend. So I send the Caterham down. The BMW is at Korman Autoworks in Greensboro NC. They did the engine build and installation plus the last of the suspension work. That is 1 hour south of VIR. Since Ray drove CSLs in period I am having him drive it Friday at VIR to set up the handling. It will save me days of testing and tuning. So they will truck it north to VIR. I get to drive the Caterham and BMW at VIR. We then trailer it back north as it is finished it’s long restoration.
Taber10
Just to "close out" my "off-topic" post on the Carlisle Import and Performance Nationals The re-focusing of the event on drifting, exhaust competitions, etc. coupled with the COVID issue really impacted this event. I estimated approximately1120 cars, based on registration numbers. There were a good number of British cars, and lots of other makes, however the overwhelming Asian influence was evident. For example, while all British cars were included in one class "Euro-Other" there were four classes each of Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Toyota etc. The only "kit cars" were a bunch of "VW-based dune buggies." The Carlisle Events staff selects on FRIDAY ten cars for membership in the "Carlisle Elite" class, and awards a small trophy, ball cap and T-Shirt: One of the winners of that award was a particular 2007 Caterham 7 SV--the ONLY LSIS there! yellowss7
Tabor. If you want to hang with other 7s then you really need to skip Carlisle and come to NJMP for our 7s event. You don’t have to track your car and Croc and I can give your wife a ride on track as I seem to remember that she was a bit more adventurous than you when we met at Barber:seeya: Tom
