DanM
Hey All, I have just imported a Westfield Sport Miata Kit from the UK through Manik Sports Cars in Texas. I'm looking to connect with anyone who has recently built one. Any recent Westfield Builders out there active on the forum? Dan
JohnCh
Hi Dan, Congrats on the arrival! Westfields are pretty rare in North America compared to the UK so not sure we have any active members with the Miata-based car, but there are a few of us with the standard Westfield who might be able to help with aspects along the way. Definitely start a build thread. Also, the WSCC forum (Westfield Club in the UK) is huge, with a lot of helpful folks, so if aren't a member there, I suggest joining. Cheers, John
JohnCh
I just visited WSCC and see you already started a thread there, but they got a picture and we didn't! Granted it's just a photo of a giant box in a truck, but still... -John
Croc
What is it about Westfield Miatas' and the name "Dan"? Calling the other Dan with a Westfield Miata to this thread! @Dan3030
MPG
I built one a couple of years ago. The WSCC is definitely your best resource, but if yours is LHD, there are a few issues that they probably won't be a lot of help with. Westfield doesn't build enough LHD ones to really get all the kinks out. My build log is here, and I can probably still remember enough to help with a few of the issues you might encounter. Tom Manik was really helpful too. I hope you enjoy your build, and I can't wait to see the big smiles when you get it on the road.

To be honest I didn't think I'd get such a great response to my message, so I'm thrilled with how many people have reached out! Here you go! lg2k
Hi Dan, I built a Miata based Westfield back in 2013 and am looking forward to following along on your build here as well as on the WSCC forums. There are a few "gotchas" along the way that are specific to the left hand drive versions. A couple that come to mind was the clutch pedal location having to be moved to adjust the motion ratio. Another was having to move the steering column tabs on the chassis to center the steering wheel. The routing of the steering shaft around the exhaust header on the left side of the car wasn't ideal as well. Nothing huge but there are a few unique issues that come up on the LHD version vs the RHD one.
DanM
Awesome, thanks for reaching out! Do you have a build thread or some forum links that you could share that explain some of the specific stuff you mentioned? I'm definitely interested in learning more about your LHD experience.
