Zetec fuel hose replacement / extension?

Hi guys, I am replacing my fuel hose that runs from the hard line in the engine compartment to the stock Zetec fuel rail.  I was encouraged to buy the Duratec hose from caterham as the most likely to fit as the Zetec is not an official build engine, but warned the hose may be too short.  Guess what? It is!  So now I am back to square one looking for a solution.  This is what the Duratec hose looks like - it just needs to be about 8" longer.

 

Anyone have suggestions for the best thing to do here?  Could i have one made, or could I extend?

Hi James, you attached an .HEIC file which is an unsupported file type (most backend systems used by various brands of forum software don't yet support it.)  My guess is you took the photo with your iPhone, then uploaded it to the forum from a Mac device.  If so, it stays in that format.  Try emailing the photos to yourself, which generally does the conversion to jpeg, or take a screenshot of the photo and save it as a jpeg, then attach it.

got a NAPA store near you?  They might be able to make a new one, or tell you who can.

Search the web for a local.  I had high pressure hoses made by a roundy/round race specialist.  First I tried an industrial place, but they didn't use materials compatible with gasoline (do check that).  Then I found the right shop about 30 miles away, specializing in dirt track type stuff.

It will still open if you have an Apple Macbook.  It is unsupported for Windoze products only.  It is still supported by the Forum software.

By unsupported, I mean that it will not embed the photo in the post as it will with jpeg, jpg, gif, etc. It’s just a downloadable file.  If your OS or the apps loaded on your device support that file type, then yes, you can open it.

Question - what are your thoughts on extending this hose with appropriate clamps - up to 50psi pressure, my gut says no, but wanted to ask your thoughts.

What size is your steel line?  5/16?  A couple of these and an Aeroquip braided line might be the thing

take the ones you have to NAPA and ask if they can extend with crimped sleeves?

Any marking on the uk hose to indicate ethanol compatibility? It appears to be standard replacement zetec type fittings for 5/16 nylon and M14 but with an unmarked rubber and crimp sleeves. Does the hose need to have the flexibility of rubber or can you go to an oem type nylon?

You'd need two splices to make it longer. Not a good idea imho.
