This is the reason I haven't washed my own cars in a decade and professionals have. I mostly drive an old Land Cruiser that has NEVER been washed cause it's held together by dirt, duct tape and chicken wire, no joke.

Could not have much worse that the last Toyota Pickup I sold.  38 years old; son spun and crashed every corner;  so I put on a Ford Ranger grille (zip ties).  Mechanic straightened the hood to work perfectly, new headlight buckets and tail lights.  No dent repair.  Perfect for driving to the job.  The union lads could not hurt it.

I love a good zip tie car.

If you live off Pelham RD in the greater Greenville, SC area, I've seen you driving it :classic_tongue:

Hmm....  He teases us here on USA7s, but posts a photo of the car on BlatChat?  Suddenly I don't feel so bad for making the prank call to customs a couple of weeks ago about contraband in his shipment :918766748_biggrinjester(1):

I laughed til I got tears in my eyes John. I really did. Thank you.

And it's not you guys at all, it's the 1978 &$&($&?&)&(@&/ user interface here. Long story short I oversaw a bunch of very smart teams in a secret govt software lab for a few years, and no matter what the actual product or goal was for that sprint my mandate always came back to "it's too many clicks".  No joke.

I post on IG so much you'd think I was a teenage girl, butt it's cause it's two clicks easy!

I'll throw you guys some love. Hang on.

Alright, she's here. She's not done and dusted yet. Couple tweaks that Caterham are helping me with. Meantime...

I'll do a proper video cut of the unveiling and such in a week or so.

I wanna put right out there over and over again how much love I have for the folks who built this thing.

I'll try and do a video to show the paint. Hard to explain. It's not a Dodge charger with two tone wrap. It's fluid. The paint changes colors, based I don't know on the angle of the light, based on your viewing angle, based on the time of day and cloud cover.  It's not color changing, it somehow makes it a shape shifter. I think it is just paint you can't explain. Or I can't. It's unreal. It's *surreal*. I'm so pleased with it. The dude who painted it is an artist. He knows I feel this way.

I can't quite find the words yet, but even in these photos I think you can see how the color, the hue and the apparent depth seem to vary widely.

I'm in love.

So many delays, but ever the optimist.  Great.

You've got to do something about that driveway.  You'll get the tires dirty!

My car's color is similar in how it changes color based on lighting conditions.  I've yet to capture a photo that is close to reality.  I can see why you call it Violently Violet, although Gaudy Grape is also accurate :D

I sent you a PM about clicks to post.  I think you may be unaware of some forum features and are taking the more scenic route.

Cheers,

John

Lol thanks I think. I'm a pretty optimistic, forward looking guy. I just can't look back. Makes my neck hurt.

Also those aren't my driveways. That's shop lots. My driveway is paved and about a 20 percent grade, so winter will be fun!!

Looks like you need to upgrade your phone too.  Those are some low resolution photos.  Every aspiring social effluencer needs to have a top of the range phone for candid selfies, unveiling Caterhams, and those special boudoir moments....

...or have you just got all excited and cannot hold the phone still for a microsecond to take a photo?

Love the color.  I shall name it "Violet Beauregarde"

You are going to 3M film the paint to protect it and keep it looking that good?

Lol @Croc those are screen grabs from my glasses so yeah, not great.

Boudoir is covered, multi-angle and lol nevermind.

Yes to full PPF. Awaiting a meeting with a guy who can order the precuts for the sides and such and isn't scared to hand cut for the nosecone.

Meanwhile here are a few pics to kinda show how the color changes when the temperature of the light changes. And a sexy, gratuitous slow mo of the bonnet getting a rinse. Lol.

Amazing range from unripe blueberry to raspberry jam - a car as fruity as its owner!

Seriously, congratulations on finally having her home, she looks great.
