3D Printed Parts

These hangers (and other parts) are great, now all I need is the wall space to place them! 

 

I need to print (or buy) one of those dash phone holders that attaches to the dashboard button snaps too... Seen a few different ones online and was admiring one on a friend's car last weekend.

I struggled with wall space too lol. The doors are above my trash bins and the windshield is high up above my electrical panel.

While I'm dreaming, a holder for the bonnet and nose cone would be really handy during longer working sessions... I've seen a few solutions for that on older threads though.

Yeah my intention is to work on that, was well as a bonnet mount. I'll need it next time I work on the car. If I get around to it, I'll make sure it's pushed to the same repo and update here.

Good thread on bonnet and nose cone solutions below. For my bonnet, I'm using wooden arms on folding shelf brackets that store flat against the wall when not in use.

when I did the factory tour, I saw a few interesting ways they hang the nosecones. The first one below got me thinking we might even be able to find an large towel rack

@240 I had a similar thought for the bonnet actually, just like a single thing so the bonnet hangs on using the side, and it hooks on, kind of like how a French cleat would work. 

 

This is a fantastic ideal for a low profile design for the nose cone too! Thanks!

I had a single unit out of PVC for doors, hood and nose cone but but I got tired of how bulky it was for my single car garage. Hood wood extend out horizontally into space.

 

I'll reconsider redoing it now horizontally to do the nose cone and the hood on the same one like the factory has.

Noticed DPR has nicely machined and threaded plugs for the roll cage bosses, that might be a low-hanging 3D print project that even I could succeed at...

Ah yep, I've purchased both a pedal extender and the boss caps from https://uberniche.co.uk and they're fantastic.

 

He also sells harness clips so the floppies don't slap you in the face. 

 

If I had gotten my 3D printer before I bought them, I would have tried to print them myself.

 

They have totally fair prices IMO but the shipping and tariff across the ocean basically doubled, if not tripled the price.

@hahuang65 unbernich has some nice stuff. Thanks for mentioning him. I'm digging the rear LED cluster. At 170 quid, for everything (housing, light, connector, that's pretty hard to beat. Just wishing the tarriffs go away...

Go for it! I wouldn't bother with the threads, though. Printing threads doesn't go well typically.  For stuff like this, I normally epoxy in a bolt. Another alternative is to design a void in the part, pause the print, insert a magnet into the void, then resume printing. The magnet should hold this part in place quite well.

They are around $710 USD before tariffs and shipping. So, I'd budget for $1K
