Gone baby, gone....

Recommended Posts

I met the car transporter in a nearby strip mall today at 7:30 AM.

Enjoy it, Morgan!

Al, the only sad part of meeting everyone at Carlisle was knowing that you'd be Seven-less for awhile. You have an open invitation to come ride in mine anytime you need a fix.

(Pondering whether to say "ride" or "drive".)

Al......sorry for your loss, especially before the driving season.

I know of a 1962 Lotus 1500cc RHD sitting in a friends garage with many other unfinished car projects. One is my old Porsche he's converting to electric. The series 2 is a roller with red CLAMS, but you'll have to really polish the aluminum. I don't know when he ran it last, all the fiberglass was pulled off and painted but his intention was to do vintage racing with it. It will need a going all over but it is my belief it could be picked up inexpensively. I had seriously consider it myself... to have an original but I enjoy mine enough and don't have the room for another. PM me if you are interested and I will call him for more info. He may not be interested in selling it, but maybe more garage space and cash will change his mind.

Almost brings a tear to my eye, also. But I sure you will be back as an owner soon. Thanks for letting me drive it down at Carlisle, much different than my car.

Hal you can use drive, Al is easier on Sevens than leaving them sit parked in a garage.:)

Al,

If you are that 7 friendly, you can drive my S1. Take me up on it, not something I say, let alone write very often.

Then I'll sweet talk Bob D. into swapping rides someday.

Happy Holiday, Steve Novelli

Well, the car made it safe and sound, and is everything that I expected and more. Thanks Al!!!!111!

It has been renamed by my elderly neighbor though, car will now be known as "Mr Orange" to you! http://www.websmileys.com/sm/happy/125.gif

Her jaw literally dropped when she saw the car lol

Morgan, let's dump our wives, move in with each other and have "his and his" sports cars!

In all seriousness, glad it arrived safely. Now book more photography jobs and keep 'em both, I say!

Of course, a detailed (and glowing) report will be expected after your drive.

u should love it Morgan, the reviews i heard of a certain Orange/cf 7 tearing up VIR north early last week were that it was phenomenal. if it had slicks it would have been ticks away from track records instead of in the grass.

If we do that, there would be room for one more car http://www.websmileys.com/sm/evil/teu55.gif

- Had to cut the drive short, so only got to do a bit of a highway drive to my wife's office (where a crowd formed around the car), but I enjoyed it a lot.

- Acceleration was crazy, I have driven cars that are probably quicker on paper (Nissan GT-R, 599 for example), but this ranks up there, and the whole experience is far more exciting than the GT-R that is for sure.

- Wind was not nearly as bad as I expected. I actually liked the wind in my [lack] of hair feeling. With Oakley glasses it was no problem on the eyes. Even had the car close to 100mph at which point it was sort of getting bad. I guess after hearing people complaining, I expected worse. I am relieved about this. http://www.websmileys.com/sm/sad/533.gif

Certainly would not want to do a long freeway drive like that though, so sidescreens are on order.

-Car is louder than I expected, in a good way, love the transmission noise :D (yes I am crazy)

-Didn't get the chance to do any twisty roads, so I will have to comment on that later.

-Car gets a lot of attention on the road, even in LA where people are jaded to exotic cars
