MoPho
Afterwards she asked me how much my life insurance policy is for and then told me she would have to charge me money if I want her to come along for rides. Do you think this means she likes it? http://www.websmileys.com/sm/sad/533.gif
Sean
My wife is well aware of the amount of life insurance I have. I think maybe that's why I am allowed to have the car in the first place!

Mondo
My wife never rode on my sportbike (the rear seat and footpegs weren't on for long) and she has no desire to ride in the 7. The kids enjoy it though:)
slngsht
My wife has ridden in Frankn7 a couple of times. No complaints, but I'm sure she's not crazy about it. She'll probably drive it this time around.
slomove
What are you guys doing? My wife has been a week and 2000 miles on the USA2005 tour and that did not discourage her to do the full 17 days and 4000 miles of PNW2007 (mostly as passenger but occasionally as driver as well). Admittedly I don't drive in a maniac fashion with her aboard but then I rarely do that on the road anyway. Today we drove maybe 120 miles in the local mountains, just cruising and enjoying the scenery and I must say it is more fun with company than by myself. She went to a performance driving school a few years ago but found the whole track business not to her liking. Oh well, something I got to do be myself then.... pi7ot
My wife is gone. The Birkin is still with me. It's all good. She detested the 7. Heh Heh. m
gjslutz
My wife loves the Birkin at any speed! It is slower than anything we have owned in the 37 years we have been married. It is also one of the most fun cars we have owned. I think it is #1 on her list of cars we have had as well. I don’t think she would do a long trip with or W/O rain & no roof though. She hates to fly with me and that is the safest thing she could do, even with acro or formation flight. Gary
JohnCh
My wife loves the Westfield. We covered 4000 miles in 2 weeks for USA2005 (almost 630 miles on the longest day) and she is thinking about joining on NorCal2008. When we go out for lunch on weekends, she is usually the one who suggests we take the Westfield rather than one of the tintops. Like Gert, I tend to keep the speed down when she is on board, but to her credit she didn't even complain the day we drove with the S2Ks from Page to Las Vegas on USA2005 (RDROCKT may remember that day ). -John
southwind25
Wow....for us it's completely diffrent..Mary and I fight in the morning to see who gets the chance to drive it!!:boxing: This weekend was our oldests graduation party, and mary took out various members of her family in it. :7drive: Gee everyone LOVED it..and Mary had a very warm smile returning from each of her little jaunts...matter of fact after a ride her uncle said "wow she really knows how to drive that thing doesnt she":hurray: ((hey Gary, was that YOU we saw from our sailboat on Atwood lake last saturday in formation??..3 low wing RV4 types flying around))))
RDROCKT
John, We still smile about USA2005. Yep, I DO remember our jaunt from Page to Las Vegas. I remember my good ULTRALITE logo hat blowing off and you trying to make a single handed catch while on the freeway outside LV. Really admire your effort....dang, I miss that hat! Barbara was really cautious about the Se7en when we pulled out of Houston and headed west. I often remind her of the death grip she had on the roll bar. Three weeks later driving up the Pacific Coast Highway she was hanging out of the car, acrobat style, getting pictures of the scenery and fellow travelers. As your wife also does, she frequently is the one proposing to take BLUE somewhere for a spin. Gotta love these ladies! We're still racing nearly every weekend and I am not allowed to go without her. After all, she IS the coach. Take care,
Al N.
Morgan- Having the wife as a passenger in the Se7en is the easy part....having her as the driver is another thing entirely. Laura drove the car once. Didn't love it. Or perhaps it was my nagging that she was letting the revs fall too much between shifts....
MoPho
Mrs. MoPho doesn't know how to drive a manual, so there is no worries there Other than being a bit more "intense" than the Elan, it was not far off from what was expected, main problem is after we pulled out of the driveway she tells me she forgot glasses and to tie up her hair :banghead: Will try again
WestTexasS2K
My wifes first extended trip was the Hill Country tour. The first day she screamed slow down for every corner even though we were going extremely slow. The second day she did much better and didnt complain much about spirited acceleration until Vtec hit then the tumbs down signal came flying out like a weapon. She did good on the corners, I only received 6 or punches to the chest in protest. A vast improvement over the previous day.
slomove
....... main problem is after we pulled out of the driveway she tells me she forgot glasses and to tie up her hair :banghead: Well, there is a few things that can help to make her agreeable (actually some of that is also necessary to make me agreeable): - Make sure the seat is comfy enough - Most important for So-Cal: get a half-hood for sun-protection - Insulate the footwells sufficiently to not cook the passenger legs - Earplugs - I needed a cushion over the emergency brake lever to avoid bumping the elbow - find a reasonable way to keep the hair untangled. My wife tried bandannas, head scarves and the elastic balaclavas. At the end she settled on the "foreign-legion" style hats (like a baseball cap) with a bill and a shroud around the neck. DeanG
My wife had her first ride in our 7 about 2 months ago. She needed a lot of help to get back out (bad sholders) and then fell while helping me to push it home. She won't get another ride untill all is well and the car is reliable. Donnie
After extensive experimentation, I have come to the conclusion that the Seven inspires more confidence in the driver than in the passenger.
sparecr
I thought I was going to get killed at 7-7-7 because I let Erin drive some of the time, by weekend I know a few more of the women had. Erin has always loved the 7 and she will still get to drive at when she visits (until all goes to ....). I took a seven newbie to a car show on Saturday 110 miles one way there, she drove back. You might be reading about her new 7 addiction in the upcoming USA7s.org (paying) member newsletter. Erin, my old boss (Patty), and this new friend (Diane) 3 thin females who all need to be pryed out of the driver seat, guess I know how to find them.:7drive:
