Locost 5.0
http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p3/beergodrod/RodsLocost5.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p3/beergodrod/RodsLocost50012-7.jpg Took my Locost for its first drive today. Here are some videos on YouTube. Its actually the second drive because the camera was off the first time! In the third YouTube link toward the end of the video I gave it a little gas, listen to the girl passenger yell at me! We were going 35mph max. I haven't figured out how to embed the video yet so here are the links. Started the project almost exactly 2 years ago. The car is a +442, roller cam 302, T5, late model mustang axle, 3-link w/mummford link, inboard coil-overs up front. I put a carb on it utill its done with registration, then it will get 8 stack fuel injection with megasquirt. Rod

MHKflyer52
Way to go Rod. Sounds very good and looks like you are going to have a lot of fun with your new car. Now Mazda is not the only member to have a V8 powered 7.

Locost 5.0
Sounds good Mondo, can't wait to test it out a little faster in the foothills! It would be cool to have a side by side picture of the two cars. Rod
Locost 5.0
Drove over Tioga Pass in Yosemite this weekend, over 9,900 ft. elevation. If you ever get a chance its a beautiful drive. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p3/beergodrod/DSCF7800.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p3/beergodrod/DSCF7764.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p3/beergodrod/DSCF7818.jpg Rod

WestTexasS2K
Rod I have been following your build on the Locost site. I am very impressed with all the work you have put in it. You will enjoy that car for years to come. Just get ready for all the attention that bad boy is going to attract.
Mondo
Dang, it's already been a year... like the wheels too. Well, I'm still working out some bugs believe it or not. Thus, I haven't contacted you about Buttonwillow. Haven't forgotten... once I can trust the car any distance I'll give you a call and we can meet up somewhere. Not too many of us in central valley. Locost 5.0
Thanks guys, its been a good year. Almost 7100 miles so far. Thanks for keeping me in mind Mondo. I'm doing an EFI upgrade pretty soon using Megasquirt with Weber IDF throttle bodies. I hope the car isn't off the road for very long! http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p3/beergodrod/DSCF7844.jpg Soon as I finish the fuel rails, idle air control and the vacuum chamber, its getting bolted on! TheDingo8MyBaby
I agree with the general consensus - your car is awesome! Those IDF's will look VERY nice. If you build a hood, it would be neat to see the trumpets under a plexi-glass cover like the old ferraris...or you could leave them open like can am cars. Who needs air filters anyway? Locost 5.0
I forgot to update this thread! The car is running pretty well, still working on the tune. Power is up a fair amount. It sounds better too. EFI tuning is cool but frustrating! Here is a video I posted on YouTube. Driven about 500 miles so far. Gas mileage is WAY down due to the sound of the ITB's! BMW RACER
That's great! Don't worry about the fuel milage, enjoy the car. It looks great, it's a Super 7 with pipes on BOTH sides
