I made a rez at the Travelodge sun eve pre-track day. $60.(A little scary). Not sure as to Sunday eve agenda. Will do the mandatory driver's meeting at the Eisenhower, of course. If the auto-x is as exhausting as it usually is, (heat/adrenaline/self recrimination:)) I will probly want a break/some food. So will play it by ear.

Mike, I'm going to book the TravelLodge too. I plan on doing the drivers meeting at the Eisenhower, and then get on the road and do dinner at the Texas Steakhouse. Maybe those that are staying there will want to meet up for dinner there.

Tom:

I am going to play departure/dinner Sun eve by ear but, if feasible, I will opt for a caravan to the Texas Steakhouse w/you and other se7ens.

My goal is to roll in Fri eve around 6:00, it will all depend on what adventures the car has along the way:).

Tuesdays are the traditional home made pie sales by the Amish of the area.

I have a CD driving tour of the battefields from when I toured them last year. You just pop the CD in and then it tells you all about what you are seeing as you drive along. Will that help you? :jester:

Croc,

I'd be interested in the driving tour of the battlefields, but I'm going to have to look at it beforehand--the Caterham does not have a CD player! Boxologist must have a pretty sharp 7 if it has a CD.....

Putting aside my wind up of Jon :jester:...the CD/book was very good for understanding the Gettysburg site as you visit the various stops. Even without the sound you can use the book as a map guide of each stop on the battlefields. Gettysburg is a deeply moving place when you put it all in context with a guide like that.

Send me a PM with your address and I will mail a color copy of the book to you end of next week when I get home from Cambodia. I may end up joining you to tour the battlefields again - very moving.

The latest issue of Lotus Ltd’s bi-monthly magazine REMARQUE arrived at my door today. It has the LOG registration form, and reminds everyone that now is the time to reserve a room at the hotel and get that registration form filled out and in the mail.

The registration form and more, such as descriptions of the meal choices… can be found at

http://www.lotuscarclub.org/log30forms.php

E.g., “Our Saturday buffet will include a selection of ham, fried shrimp, baked lasagna, sliced turkey with trimmings, salad bar, dessert bar and beverages.” Yum. I’m already getting too fat to fit into the Se7en.

I urge you to attend LOG 30. Thirty years of an annual car event is hints that it is something special. I love it and have missed only one LOG since 1991.

OK, I know a Se7en doesn't have much luggage room but...

Please bring your Lotus and or Se7en related memorabilia, pictures, models, art, crafts, children's art to LOG 30.

Help me out. I lobbied hard for turning the arts & crafts competition into a gallery event. There will be some interesting stuff (objects de art, factory drawings, models and more) for all to experience but we (the attendees of LOG) need your submissions to help make this an awesome, fantastic, spectacular event.

I just sent my form off - will be there for the reception Fri night and the Sat evening dinner. I also signed up for the autox - never done one of them before so it should be entertainment for the crowds watching. Unfortunately now that I have a new job on the horizon I will be unable hang around for the Sunday night or Monday track day since I will need to be back at the office - bit of a pity.

For those arriving early on Friday, any interest in getting a small USA7s scenic run (or "spirited drive") together?

A friend reports that yesterday when he made his hotel reservation 160 rooms have been reserved at the LOG hotel. I quick count of rooms based on their floor plan shows about 260 rooms.

The up side is that there should be plenty of people and plenty of interesting cars.

I booked my room the other day for Fri-Mon. Not sure yet if I'll end up sticking around on Sunday or not although the Autocross and scenic drives are appealing.

Looking forward to it!

Al; Bummer. Consider heading back to LOG on Saturday night or Sunday morning.

xflow7; Take in a technical session or two, run the auto-x & tour the battlefield.

Everyone; Read, or listen to a book on tape, about the battle before LOG. I'm not a Civil War History buff by any stretch but it made my visit much more interesting and moving.

Anyone; My wife wants to take a horse back ride of the battlefield and doesn't want to be among total strangers. I want to stay away from horses unless they come smothered in onions. Anyone please, help me out here.

Is there any additional information available yet about the various events? For example: guest(s)/speaker(s) at the banquet, subjects of tech sessions, etc? I've trawled this thread and perused the LOG site and the Group page at the hotel, but haven't turned up many details.

Anyone know more?
