I agree with Mazda, that's a beautiful car! I didn't even know there were any Donkervoorts in the US. Good luck with the sale Jeff.

Hello,

Thanks for all the complements. The nose cone is really cool. From what I was told there are 6 Donkervoorts in the US, but I have not confirmed that.

Thanks

I saw this Donkervoort at LOG 25 in St. Louis in 2005. The fellow who owned it then drove it down from Detroit. Looks the same as it did then except for the obvious elbow grease it took to polish the ally.

Scroll to the bottom of this page of the link to my gallery. These are the three "before" photos. The Donkervoort was my favorite along with the original 7 from S.W. Missouri or KC area.

One of the nice things about unpainted aluminum is that if you are feeling ambitious you can shine it up for a fantastic look. To me the best part of the Donkervoort is the ally nose.

The nose and the hood seem to blend into one great shape. polished aluminum , can't

go wrong with that look !!! Good luck with the sale.

That is to funny the pictures from Log 25. That was me on my way back from Detroit with it. Small world. Yeah took me about two days to get it all polished up but it sure looks awesome all polished.

Thanks again for all the comments.

Jeff,

It seems to me I have seen your car somewhere in the last year or two at a show or perhaps LOG27 in Aspen. Have you been to any LOCO events or local car shows?

The car looks great and like most everyone else I am blown away by the ali nosecone.

Hi skip,

Yep I was at Log 27 and several Loco events. Been at High Plains once. I love your 7 with the Mazda Engine. Mine is not even close to as fast as yours, but still fun to drive:)

Thanks

Thanks for the comments on price. I honestly had no idea where to price it and thought that was a fair price. Just hoping someone can give it the attention it deserves.

I can vouch for both car and seller.

Having spent several hundred miles following this car on mountain roads, I can confirm that the arrest-you-in-your-tracks gleam of the alloy nosecone is even better in person!

Plus, Jeff's as fair as they come, so whoever buys this car ought to have a straightforward transaction.

A very interesting car, this Donkervoort.

Much purer and leaner than the later, luxo-bloated, Audi-powered 'Voorts that most of us probably think of when this particular manufacturer is mentioned.

This car is really much more akin to the 1980s long-cockpit Caterhams, except that the Donk chassis is stronger and better-built.

In fact, I think the chassis of this model might have been one of the first CAD/FSE engineering projects that the Dutch Tech university did with their new computers, ca. 1978.

Also, one noteworthy point: the cockpit is bit longer and wider than the the Caterhams of the day -- it's kind of the SV of the era.

Any plus-sized folk priced out of Caterham SV range and thus in the market for an older Se7en might give this car a look on that basis alone.

Jeff: you mentioned at the June High Plains track day you were thinking of selling, but I'm still sorry to see your Donk up for sale. http://www.usa7s.com/vb/images/icons/icon9.gif

(This is Josh from LoCo, by the way). Were I sufficiently liquid in funds, I'd have written you a check by now!

Hello,

I had a couple people ask about the tire sizes so I thought I would post it. The fronts are 195/50 R16, the rear are 205/55 R16

Thanks

Does anybody know the lug pattern for those cortina based wheels? What type of shocks?

I am looking for a 7 to autocross so shocks and tires availability will be paramount.

This is a lovely car which has a nice historical aspect to it. Love the alloy body.

I'm in the process of trying to purchase this and in anticipation of having the car go from 5500 feet elevation down to a couple hundred feet one of my first needs will be to change the jets. I’m looking for anyone in the Raleigh NC area that would any of you might recommend.

I think I could handle it myself after talking with Ben at Caterham but just in case, I’m looking for someone with experience just in case. They are Dellorto carbs but I was told to look for anyone with experience with webbers or dellortos as they are similar.
