Hello afs. I am in the market. I am considering cars like yours and the brunton super stalker. Can you tell me how you think your car differs from the brunton, or some of the positive points?

-How "all-weather" is your car? I plan to drive around the country in mine and do track days.

-If you got caught in a downpour, how would the car make out?

-Drain holes in the floor?

-Are the seats vinyl or leather?

-What sort of MPG do you average cruising on the highway?

-Tank range and size?

-How hard would it be to modify the roll bar to make it a full cage?

-How would you car's exhaust loudness rate vs. a harley, sportbike, corvette w/ aftermarket exhaust? When you start it up and drive out of your neighborhood at a sane pace, are you waking the dead? Turning heads? Going unnoticed?

Thanks in advance, and good luck with the sale!

On behalf of Bster13, I will ask about cockpit temps. Those of us w/Caterhams find that surviving that problem is one of the challenges w/long trips, esp in the summer. Doesn't help that the exhaust exits on driver's side.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

Yes, Brian Anderson built the car and delivered it personally to Columbus, Ohio.

The car is registered as a 2006 (it came with a Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin).

I would ship it to Canada - is there some issue I should know about in shipping it to Canada?

As for heat in the cockpit, please note that the exhaust on an Ultralite is on the passenger side and not the driver's side like a Zetec in a Caterham or Birkin. I have added insulation but like any Seven, the foot well gets warm.

I'd be happy to answer any other questions. Again, the best way to contact me is by e-mail: steinmanan@xenos.org. Thanks...

The car looks great and I'm sure your into it for nearly twice more than your asking. You would have a hard time putting together the parts for a low end build of anything except "maybe" one built on the recycled S10 pick-up.

Question on your sump. Is it just a modified wet sump pan or is it a dry sump kit. If it's a wet sump, how much did you save on the depth and have you ever had any issues with oil starvation? Swinging pick up tube? My S2K's skid plate kisses the pavement a little more than I'd like, but it's the stock S2000 sump.

At your asking price it shouldn't take long selling it, even in todays economy.

If someone one this forum buys this SK2 , and after a few days, weeks , months, decides that you don't like it. I would be happy to trade even up for my S1.

I love this car, and who ever buys it, I am sure you will be very happy with it.

Steve and Jim: thanks to you both for your kind comments. Jim, your estimate on investment is right on the money. My sump was an option from Brian that provides a bit more ground clearance - it is not a dry sump. I believe this is a fairly common extra cost option and as you know, there have been no reports to my knowledge of any engine issues with the extensive racing of S2Ks. The rearview mirror is a SPA carbon fiber mirror that matched the side mirrors. However, it was not a great mounting location and tended to vibrate because it was not mounted on a strong point of the fiberglass. Also, the height blocked my vision every now and then. It would be far better to mount a rear view mirror anchored to the dash but it would probably require a custom mount.

Thanks to all who expressed interest in the car. It sold quickly. I had two back-up offers and perhaps a third. The new owner should be smiling upon delivery.

Jerry: I'm going to give the new owner some contacts, yours being perhaps the most important. You were so helpful and patient answering my non-mechanically minded questions and I think you have better documentation and know more about Ultralites than almost anyone. I truly appreciated you help. I only regret not meeting you in person. The new owner is in Houston.

Really sorry I couldn't get my s**t together on this one....

note to self, to take advantage of good deal, must have $ set aside, not tied up in other cars!

If the new owner gets tired of his new toy...or anyone with a Superformance for that matter, call me:)
