Music preferences in the 7 community?

I'm kind of all over the map.

Mostly 60s/70s rock

Lots of Grateful Dead

Still have a great appreciation for classical music, old country (love Johnny Cash) and good quality modern music (Radiohead, U2, Coldplay, etc.)

Not a big fan of most current popular music. I think Hip Hop is a bit of a waste of time

In fact, I can get you a jazz or funk group for your local function if you are in the DC metro region. Come check my group out at Osteria 177 for brunch in Annapolis every Sunday 1 to 4. I'm there every Sunday but the first one in the month. Excellent Southern Italian food and free valet parking, but I'd put your 7 yourself on a spot on a meter if I were you.

The place is two blocks off the waterfront and there are other jazz and rock bands all over the place. Annapolis is a big jazz and other music place. Just a plug for Our Naval Academy home and not for me. Show off your 7 on a nice day in Annapolis and get a photo op next to the yachts.

for driving, my selections are pretty limited...

Pretty much like all that.... except maybe jazz (probably just not familiar with a type I'd like).

Lets not forget Pink Floyd and some new wave 80s stuff (The Cars, even DEVO). Like blues too (the kind you can't helping nodding your head to while listening to the guitar rip).

The last couple years I've been listening to a lot of surfer music, mainly cause most of it is instrumental and I love that surf guitar reverb sound. It's upbeat and and sometimes quirky stuff. If interested, check out:

Los Straightjackets

The Aqua Velvets

The Blue Hawaiians

One of my favorite movie quotes is from "The Last Boyscout" with Bruce Willis. He's being tortured and the villain says "I'm going to make you cry". Bruce replies "play some rap"

Leon Redbone

Steppenwolf

Lynyrd Skynyrd

Old rock, hard rock, metal, punk, retro... Depends how I feel, where I'm driving, and who I'm driving with. I won't listen to heavy metal in my car if a take my mother for a drive.. lol I made some nice playlist on my Ipod with different kind of music so I use to just ask my passenger what they like.
