twnpipe
Project weeks on the car. Just redid the front air splitter to give more downforce and move the air over the lower A arm. I found an APR carbon fibre wing locally that was used and very well priced. I plan to mount it vertically ahead of the back roll bar at the spreader vertical to give downforce not only over the rear wheels. I've got the pipe to go vertical and then put a plate on top to use the wings existing mounting plate. The plan to attach to roll cage is to use flat plate on either side of new pipe and weld and bolt to rollcage.
jlumba81
Looks like the same wing I have on my wrx. It waterspots easily and the clearcoat will peel off the endplates.
Kitcat
The rear wing seems way too low/out of the airstream to have an effect. Any thots?

Jackal
Here's what I did. http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=20677 That is exactly what I would like to do. I would like mine to be easily removable for when I'm just touring and may want the top up. How easy is the wing to remove?

Duane, The Coleman Racing brackets which hold the wing and support rods (Longacre) are roll bar mounted. Unbolt these brackets from the roll bar and the whole assembly can be easily removed. The wing was an ebay score from Cosmo Racing out of Canada. I have a similar front wing (also Cosmo) that isn't mounted yet. I have to come up with mounting for the front wing that is easily removable because my nose and hood are one unit and flip forward on a hinge. I've been doing several winter projects on the car and the front wing is last on the list. Shane Edited February 20, 2014 by xcarguy

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and all. I'm open to the spoiler choice based firstly on availability and price of course.
xcarguy
Duane, Something else to consider—I researched spoilers, wings, etc. for several weeks before I made the purchase. I didn’t buy the Cosmo wing because I thought it was the best; I purchased it because it seemed to be the best fit and the best all-around component for what I was attempting to accomplish. The majority of my research went into the location of the wing’s mounting points and the distance between the mounting points (where the wing bolts to the uprights, i.e., support brackets supplied with the wing). In short, I wanted mounting points as close as possible to the spreader bars on my roll cage so I could use the Coleman Racing and Longacre hardware accordingly. You can purchase straight from Cosmo, but their eBay deals are usually much better. Here’s a link to their web site: http://www.cosmoracing.com/productlist.asp?cid=47 Shane Edited February 20, 2014 by xcarguy
Jackal
Shane, I realize the thought that goes into a proper spoiler setup, and admit that I have done very little. My main concerns were with how to anchor the the wing on the roll bar. I know I'll be looking for the extra downforce when I get racing my as of yet unfinished project, but wasn't sure how I was going to accomplish it. I have measurements to make, and more planning, but the main hardware I was concerned about is resolved in my mind. Thanks.
Nick OTeen
The rear wing seems way too low/out of the airstream to have an effect.Yep. If you were to mount it tucked down low (as shown in the photo), in the dirty air downstream of the windshield, driver, headrests and roll bar it'd pretty much just along for the ride. Sounds like he's intending to mount it higher. Edited February 6, 2013 by Nick O'Teen

blubarisax
New Aero Wings from Mog-Racing. MichaelD
Karl, How easily did they install. Do you have the standard wide-track A arms?
blubarisax
Michael, They were easy to put on with Wurth Elastic PE adhesive. I have the aero wide-track A Arm, so Mog Racing trimmed them to fit. I had to trim them to clear the anti roll bar fittings, but otherwise you just stick them on. I feel much faster already!
