Exomotive Exocet

Looks like a combination of Se7en and Ariel Atom built on a Miata drive train.

There is also the Sonic 7 based on Ford Focus parts. I think this one has been on the forum before.

"Fugly"!! You said it all. Don't these people ask anyone outside their own group "what do you think of this" before they get past concept drawings?

Looks like they asked Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles....

I had the fortune (misfortune?) to see the stand of this company at the Newark Kit Car Show this year. I posted the pics in June 2011 but luckily you all failed to vomit until now!

The Sonic 7 actually looks a lot better in the flesh than it photographs. Still I am nervous of the idea of a car where you get a paper cut just by touching it:

As for the Exomotive Exocet, sadly, I did not photograph it, preferring to photograph its butt ugly sister, the Rocket. The lady at extreme left looks like she is holding the contents of her stomach in:

I quite like the look of the Atom or Jon W's (on this site) excellent scratch build recreation but there are an increasing number of copycat kit cars out there that just fail to successfully emulate the styling by getting the basic proportions wrong.

Given the numbers on display and the people prowling around, the company seemed to have a lot of interest and looked successful at the show. Just goes to show that not everyone has taste.

Newark as in NJ? Never knew there was such a show. Looks like it will be right when I am back there for 2012. I may try to go. Where about in Newark is it? Easy parking?

Slightly off subject and on a lighter note; I did some some business with Stevie Wonder's body gaurd years ago and he told me of how much Stevie LOVES to drive! They'd get on LA's freeways at 1am and the bodyguard would tell Stevie when and where to steer!

Actually , they probably all gathered around their drawings and said "I love it, this is really cool, let's build it"

Their focus group should have had at least one person over 14 and should not have been pulled from a Transformers movie audience. LOL.

I have seen a few cars so Fugley you just had to love them but these just don't fall into that catagory. Too bad because they are close enough to the mark that a little bit of fine tuning could have, if not made them totally desirable, really have taken the edge off the Fugly.
