xcarguy
When we were doing the kart road racing ours was the pit with the 5 gal lemonaide jug out along the aisle for anyone going by, where the lunch pot of pasta or chile might serve 20 or more, the coffee was always fresh. My absolute favourite occasion was at Roebling Rd on a Canadian Thanksgiving weekend (6 weeks before the US). Knowing we still wanted to observe the occasion we cooked and sliced a big bird at home plus stuffing, gravy, etc. I think we ended up serving 35+ in the pits Saturday evening, a complete dinner right down to pumpkin pie and real whipped cream! Was a hoot... Okay, If Paul shows up, I got dibs on parking next to him! Edited January 31, 2014 by xcarguy
S1Steve
Paul, I'll get to the track early and save you a primo spot next to me.... Hope you can make this event !!!!!!
Paul Hill
Thanks Steve. Primo would be with a 50A plug close by. Otherwise we have 12.5 KW Onan Quiet Diesel that will do what we need. As long as we are reasonably close to the group we're happy.
xcarguy
According to http://www.quotesdaddy.com/author/Colin+Chapman, the following was quoted by the forefather of our passion and seemed fitting for the occasion: “July 4 is the perfect day to relax. It also provides a very good chance to spend quality time with friends and family since everyone is able to get away from the hassles of every day life, such as work.” :iagree: Colin Chapman Edited February 1, 2014 by xcarguy

Don't know if they are a 50A hook up, but we will check it out. We'll put our heads together and once our track season opens, we'll look over the paddock and determine where it will be best for us to set up so that we can all be together and set up our tents, tables, etc. Bring an extension cord, and some sunscreen. :cooldude: Tom
Croc
From the NJMP website: Camping and Electric Camping & Electric Services: While visiting NJMP for your club events, please take advantage of our camping and electrical services located at our Thunderbolt, Lightning, and Karting tracks. CAMPING A camping permit is required for any overnight stay whether it is in a tent, your vehicle, or a Recreational Vehicle (RV). The rate for a tent or personal vehicle is $5 per night. The RV rate is $20 per night. These rates are applicable to all vehicles entering NJMP for an overnight stay with the exception of our Villa and VIP Suite confirmed guests. ELECTRIC Electric hook-ups are available at each of our tracks. To enhance your visit to NJMP, we have streamlined our offerings to include electric box rentals, either low or high voltage, or the complete box. By renting the box, you have the control over its usage. Upon rental, each electrical box rental will have the appropriate tag attached to the box for easy identification of status. Electric box rentals are on a first come, first served basis. Daily Electric Rates*: $15 Low Voltage Portion of the box – 15AMP/110Volt ( 2 outlets) $25 High Voltage Portion of the box – 30AMP or 50AMP/220 Volt (2 outlets) $35 Complete Box * Above pricing applies to club events, please contact NJMP Registration at 856-327-7256 for Major Event pricing. To be honest I always thought the power hookups were free. I can recall Karl using them to power the fridge and TV in his trailer once. However, the website says otherwise. The power hookups are at the back of the pit area at Lightning where it is (sort of) grassy. On the track map link it is the pits area on the other side of the skidpad from the marked classroom. http://www.njmp.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Lightning-Classroom-Board-clean.pdf
Paul Hill
Thanks for the info guys. I was half-heartedly placing a condition of whoever wanted us close had to provide a 50A power outlet....text/email just can't show when your tongue is in your cheek! On a slightly more serious note a 50A outlet would be a nice touch but we are fully self-sufficient even if dry camping. We would just like to be relatively close to the group, although I am sure Stormy would place proximity to the pool.to be a higher priority! Slow progress being made daily on the rv, got the heat pump installed and operational yesterday. Almost ready to start building cabinets. The exterior needs 4 aluminum corners made, finish and install the baggage compartment doors, and finish the installation of the windows and entry door to be weatherproof/roadworthy. For the record this has been an almost 2 yr project having started with a '92 GMC Topkick cab/chassis we drove home from AZ 4 yrs ago. We swapped out the gas V8 for a Cummins diesel, changed the rear axle to an air ride unit (with a diesel suited ratio), stretched the frame 12', dropped the 50 gal step tank in favour of a 125 gal aluminum unit from a Freightliner....and THEN started building the motorhome box. Nice to see it finally getting close to finished. If I could figure how to do it from a smart phone or ipad I'd post pics.

Sabbot
Does anybody know what the track day rules are for harness date certification? My previously FIA-approved harnesses "expired" in 2013 and I will get a new pair if needed, but given that they don't tend to get quite so much off-road testing at Croc's (and actually have never been used in anger) I was only intending to replace them if required in order to pass tech inspection. Thanks, Stewart
Croc
Hi Stewart You will need in date belts - the inspectors check those and helmet dates. I think it is a wise precaution anyway - you are out on a track with Kitcat! One last thing - you will also need arm restraints - and not the purple fluffy kind that some people on this forum have in their bedrooms. I find the Caterham ones are easiest/quickest to use because of the simplicity and use of velcro instead of buckles but Simpson, Deist, OG, etc all offer their variations. Cheers mike BTW - are you bringing Gus back? Not only was he handy with videoing your spins he was good fun!
Kitcat
Thankfully for Stewart and others, I will only pose a danger if they are off the track:). Speaking of getting belted, what IS the expiration date for our seat belts/harnesses? I have never had that be an issue.
yellowss7
Typical Lawyer, wanting to define the definition of IS. Do you have stains on your driving suit too?:jester: Expiration date is usually on a tag sewn on to the belts. I think FIA belts have a 5 year life. Which is shown the good to date. Get R done! How's the rest of your winter maintenance progressing? Tom
Kitcat
Car refresh is coming along nicely. I got the aluminum pellets that Croc recommended to replace foam in my fuel cell, + new wheel bearings, new bushings, new cycle fenders, new quick release mechanism, new 1/2 shaft, nut/bolt check, new muffler bracket, added a fuel filter before the pump in addition to one after the pump, etc. New harness belts have been ordered. Now, after all that maintenance work, watch me drive it straight into the tire wall on my 1st lap:).
Croc
Why did you need new cycle wings Mike? Did you rip the last set off during an off road excursion?

Kitcat
Rough crowd! Most drivers buy fire proof suits for in-car use: se7ens owners need them for their conversations w/other se7ens owners:).
