For sale is my 1957 Replica lotus 7. This was homebuilt in 2015 by myself and a friend of mine. He's an aerospace engineer and I'm a certified welder. The frame design is a modified Chris Gibbs chassis designed to fit miata components. This car has all miata running gear including engine, transmission, differential, brakes and axles. The engine is a built 1.6L with a Flying Miata turbo kit running their larger Garrett 3071 Turbo. This car makes 300whp and weighs 1400lbs! This car is crazy fast so I will only be doing test rides unless you have the cash on you.

Chassis #118 which was constucted by a professional builder. This is a truly a one of a kind car. With a New GM 3.8 Supercharged V6 engine producing around 300 hundred hp mated to a new Tremec 5 speed manual transmission and weighing in around 1500lbs. This car in not for the faint of heart. Based off of the Lotus Seven, this Stalker was constructed in year 2010 . With just over 2500 miles this car is in mint condition and is ready for the open road. Vehicle comes with a set of 15" street tires wheels and fenders, and a set of 13" racing tires, wheels and four had made aluminum fenders. No expense was spared and there are too many options to list. Total estimated build cost $50,000 +.

This vehicle comes with a binder full of documentation and invoices, many listing all modifications and history. Limited slip differential, 10 gallon gas tank, power steering.

I don't think the mystery car is a Lowcost. They follow a time honored blueprint by Ron Champion that results in a different looking car than this project. This seems more to be one person's home made/backyard special.

Tell me about it - there is nothing like being pulling hard at 7000rpm in 4th gear on the straight in my Mustang - it just purrs! What a wonderful engine. The engine builder told me its good for 9000rpm. :ack: Not that I will ever go that high. I chicken out at 7000. :blush:

2010 Wharton Roadster

The Wharton started life in March 2010 as a 1967 Austin Healey Mark IV Sprite. The Sprite came to me with an '85 Mazda 13B "old-school" rotary, a 5-speed manual and an Arkley SS body. The car is titled as that Mark IV, thus the collector tag. The WhartonRoadster.com frame was custom built to carry the 13B motor and transmission riding on the front spindles and independent rear end from a '97 Jag sprung by Aldan Eagle coil-overs.

 

In November 2014 we pulled the drive train and rear suspension. The engine was completely rebuilt, street ported and fitted with a Holley 650 cfm double-pumper. The Jag rear suspension was replaced with a 2004 Miata suspension including a 4.11 Torsen Differential. These mods lightened the car to just over 1600 pounds and upped the power to over 200 HP. The entire build is documented in pictures and with receipts.

Excellent example of the last genuine made by Lotus generation of the often copied Lotus 7, perfect for cafe runs, ready for track days.

 

This example came from the factory and still retains a Lotus Twin-Cam engine. (All S-IVs were imported to the US as kits, and most came with the 1600 Ford pushrod cross-flow). The S-IV is a very rare car and I think this one is the 296th car produced, out of about 700 total (the VIN is LS42946TC and chassis numbering reportedly started at LS42650).

 

In case you always wanted a 7 but didn't fit, the S-IV is ~15" longer and 6" wider than its predecessors (12' 2.3" long, 5' .05" wide). I am 6'1" and fit low enough to look through the windscreen rather than over it! There is more leg and foot room too.

 

I bought this car in 2003 and did a body off recondition with many new and re-built parts. As you will see in the photos, I also gave her valuable additions for the track, such as side impact bars for safety, a fuel cell and a dry-sump oil system. All track additions are bolt-on wrench removable and stock items, are included.

Hagerty's estimated value is ~$30k for concourse, $22k for excellent and $16k for good, independent of engine. Elsewhere I've seen Hagerty suggests a +20% valuations for a Twin-Cam over the 1600 Ford. I'd don't rate this as excellent, but very good plus she has the track stuff which has substantial value even for crash safety on the street. I am asking $24k.

1967 LOTUS SUPER SEVEN S2 for sale.

Road and track ready 1967 Lotus Super Seven S2. This full race, yet street legal sports car is featured in the classic Lotus color of British Racing Green with Yellow wheels and a spartan Black interior. This car was owned by respected racer and brewer, Augie Pabst and is one of two cars that were prepared for racing by a shop in Boulder, CO, for Pabst and his son. Paperwork included with the car show the A. Pabst ownership.

 

The car runs a dry-sump full-race Ford Cosworth 1.5L crossflow motor with a pair of stonking huge Webers on one side and a four-into-one exhaust on the other side, with no restriction. The car has been made street-legal with the addition of an alternator, headlights, brake lights, turn signals and horn. It is otherwise in competition spec. It has Simpson competition belts and roll bar.

The Lotus Seven is perhaps the simplest and most elemental of sports cars. It was introduced in 1957 as a very low-budget club-racer, and was often found racing on the decommissioned WWII runways of England. Factory built Lotuses are rare. It is estimated that during its life as a Lotus model, 1957-72, only about 2,500 were made. Only a handful of these were Super Sevens, with their dual carbs. Driving this car is a period experience. Much like a four-wheeled motorcycle, nothing unnecessary comes between the driver and the road. It is fast, twitchy, loud, windy, and thrilling to drive, making a mere 70 mph feel like 200 mph! This car has been enthusiast-owned and well-sorted.
