xcarguy
. . . . there are a number who are coming and notified/talked with me that they will be registering late as they want to time their credit card billing dates, moon phase, etc. (4 people) So please do not assume that no one is coming by looking that the sign up pages. This should address the concern that was relayed to me overnight. Cheers mike Just chiming in. I am one of the ones holding off on registration as we are awaiting removal of our daughter's picc line. As for now, still pushing ahead with our plans of making NJMP. As I type, wife and daughter are in Little Rock for a followup visit with thhe doc; hopefully, there will be more good news and a tentative date for her picc line removal.
bball7754
Mike/Tom - My belts are current, but my arm restraints are not. Will that be an issue for tech inspection? Steve
yellowss7
Not a problem. I have a few extra pair if needed, but they are more worried about belts than the arm restraints. Tom
Croc
I have never seen them check a date on an arm restraint yet. The Caterham ones actually have no date marked. I think you are good to go. Tom has a pink velvet set he can lend you if you feel that way inclined  I will have a few spare sets also for passengers
Kitcat
I have never seen them check seat belt expiration. Just helmet's Snell date. Maybe they did and I didn't notice.
Croc
They do check belts Mike and they squeal when they find a date....
DaveD
At last year's event, TrackDaze was checking for seat belt dates. Had they found mine, they probably would not have let me run. They did tell me to not come back unless I got rid of my 4 point and went to 5 or 6 point belts. My old belts had a date of 2001 on them. The sticker was under the seat so they could not see it. My club day last year was not a big deal. But then at the club event we ran behind the pace car and were not allowed to pass. This is probably why the tech was no big deal. DaveD
My son also did some rearch and said he found out that some belt manufacturers will recertify their belts after the expiration date. He said the main thing they do is re-sew the stitching on the belts and check for uv damage to the webbing. He said G-Force (which is what I bought) will do the recertification for $75 per seat belt. I doubt to many of us with sevens leave our cars out in the sun enough to worry about uv damage.
xcarguy
I have G-Force harnesses. Sent them in for re-webbing in 2013. I confirm about $75/harness. Great job, looked new when they arrived: http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=22030
yellowss7
Mike and I met up at NJMP this weekend for a track day today. Yesterday Mike let me take his 65 Mustang racecar out to warm up the oil, fill up the gas tank and provide tons of smiles to all the guys out at the track at the Porsche Club event on TBolt. The car makes the most beautiful noise with a deep raspy exhaust note. I think that car got more thumbs up and waves than I usually get with my Caterham on the road. The only downside is that IT DOES NOT STOP!!!! :ack: Mike warned me that it has race pads and they don't work well when cold. He lied, they don't work at all. The staff at NJMP are really excited about having our group at the track. and We are happy with the way things are shaping up. Oh, and the Stalker guys will be happy to know that we even found a NJMP Member who just bought a Stalker and we think we convinced him to bring it out and join in the fun. Here's a picture I took of Mike's mustang for you to drool over. Happy Father's Day. Tom
Croc
Brakes are overrated - whether it be a mustang or a seven! :driving: The mustang brakes will haul it down from 150mph to about 70-75 mph for Thunderbolt turn 1 once they are warmed up (say 3 laps). No power assist on anything - you literally stand on them. I think Tom got a reality check of how awesome the racers of the 1960s were is being able to hustle high powered cars with no brakes and heavy vague steering, quickly around a circuit. :cooldude:
Kitcat
150 mph on T-bolt, in a '68 Stang, I am impressed!!! I do love Croc's Mustang, the photo doesn't do it justice.

Croc
I do love Croc's Mustang You should have seen Tom - he had the biggest grin on his face! And I know because the car does the same to me :smilielol5:
Croc
Just to warm you up for the event, here is a video I took yesterday at Lightning at a member day. I am not driving the CSR. This is just a mild little 2003 Caterham SV, zetec, standard intake, no throttle bodies, standard Ford Focus ECU, T9 box maybe 150-160 fwhp. Airbrake....sorry windscreen is on. And I am just bombing around at 8/10ths having a blast. I have the lowest hp of all the cars in the session. What a beautiful, fun, happy little car. I think I want to use this as a camera car for our event. You will not need a big engined high hp seven to really enjoy this circuit. I was testing out a new Sony cam for a manufacturer and so the speed and map comes from the inbuilt GPS and it clearly is 1or so seconds behind the actual car but it will give you a good idea of lines on the circuit where I am. Sorry for the poor sound. I don't get over 110mph but I was having a blast. The circuit suits momentum cars so well. And we will not have big heavy cars to get in our way and slow us down on our event as all our cars corner very well. I was taking turn 1 faster than a Porsche Gt3 who made me change down to 3rd gear rather than my usual 4th. See you at NJMP soon! :seeya: Edited June 16, 2014 by Croc
yellowss7
And just to add that there were at least 18 cars on track in that session, which is about the same number as we are expecting to have in our run group in July. There were several REALLY slow cars in that group that occasionally slowed things down, like at the end of Mikes video. That blue corvette was very hesitant to give point bys. So with our group of cars that take corners quickly, it should flow very smoothly. Tom

See you at NJMP soon! :seeya: :iagree: I like it! Holds its on in the turns very well. Also, if I get to come up, I'll have the two Replay cameras with various roll bar clamps, stick-on mounts and even a couple of handheld camera straps. And decent audio can be had with the external mics. If you want, we can use these to augment, what I'm sure is to be, an already impressive array of camera goodies. . . . .
Croc
Come on Shane! I have enough cameras and angles to make a porn movie! :cone head: At least for us seveners! I do have some spare cameras and external mics which I will happily mount on some cars so people can get a driving video of themselves and I can use to mix into an event video. Just let me know in advance so I can bring the right equipment. If people wish to use their own cameras then I will be asking to take a copy their footage so I can include them in the event video. I am looking for a non-track driver volunteer to video us from a variety of places around the outside of the track - a camera is available. Stewart - Is Gus coming back this year? He was excellent! :seeya:
