Croc
The organization does take time but it is not too bad. Having Tom to share the organizational burden helps when there is a bimbo eruption in my office that I need to fix. Also we are not having to organize a whole day - just a session on a day organized by professionals. So that lightens the organizational effort. This is our 4th year. The aim all along was to get numbers up to our own run group (20 max) because that is a good number for a social event and makes for a great driving experience on track. The other aim was to keep the cost reasonable (as possible) for what I know is an expensive hobby/event.
yellowss7
Croc hit a home run this year by getting approval to have our event during a member day at NJMP. By doing that it ensured that we are part of a Professionally run day, by the Track itself which is accustomed to running major race events. The big step up for us is that in the first 3 years, it was six to 12 drivers and a guest or two. No real big coordination needed for dinners. Just pick a restaurant, show up and put Croc on a Saddle and have fun.:party: With 18 or so drivers and almost as many guests, it does require a little more forethought. The nice thing is that the management at the track is very accommodating and are working with us to make this a great event. Our goal is to have fun, on the track, in the paddock, and definitely at dinner and lunch. We all have a passion for our cars, and based on the posts so far, I think we all share a similar sense of humor. :hurray: So come prepared to have a good time. Kitcat
First timers will be impressed by this mammoth, totally professional facility. in addition to 2 first rate tracks, and a awesome kart track, they have a large "clubhouse" with a first rate bar and restaurant. You want a Hendricks gin martini, you got it, microbrews on tap, food is great (brewpub fare, but excellent). They have garages for rent, a shop that sells everything from Redline racing oil to helmets, drivers suits, gas cans, GoPros, you name it. You want a video setup w/track map and multiple cameras, they got a guy who will rent you a system and set it up. Huge flat paddock areas, loads of parking room for cars/trailers, etc.

yellowss7
Hi Mario. We will be emailing each of those who responded with a link for registration on Motorsportsreg.com. The link will take you to their site and allow you to register for not only the track event days, but also the Karting and BBQ dinners we have planned if you want to be included in those. The link includes a tech form, and outlines the track's policies. We will also try to give a complete timeline and detail where each day's events will take place. We are just waiting on the final price estimate for the Thursday BBQ. We expect that to submitted to us shortly. Hope that answers your questions. Kitcat
Xcarguy: Rent one of the on-track rooms, euphemistically called a "suite". These bare-bone rooms are basic but do have a small kitchen (complete w/sink). Their main advantage is the short trip from the clubhouse back to your room is all within the track property, and all at 20 mph on deserted service roads. Perfect for the se7ener who "may" have celebrated too much at dinner.

If it's a dump, I need to know before getting there or my wife and I may not celebrate a 46th anniversary, if you know what I mean. It's bad enough I drag my wife to the track, but if I stick her in a dump, my life will quickly change as I know it.

Sabbot
Attached are a couple of images of "mystery objects".....clues to their identity include that they both recently arrived from the UK (one in hand luggage) and they both compete with one another: one tries to maintain traction the other tries to break it. I have it on good authority that when the one with 12 holes gets connected to other similar parts the whole assembly should stay together at ~9000rpm. Ultimately both are pitiful attempts not to be lapped extensively by Croc at the July gathering in South Jersey. Hopefully both will get fitted prior to the event, one courtesy of Quicksilver Race Engines who are breathing on some of the other moving parts in order to turn a mild mannered BDA into a fun track day BDR+, the other one I need to figure out how to fit and set up. Assuming I get some advice on how to fit the "maintaining traction item" in the technical discussion thread I'll see you all in July....
Klasik-69
You guys have saved my marriage. I just booked the Fairfield Marriott tonight. I'm glad you guys chimed in on the VIP Suites or I would have been in a bind. Put the engine and tranny back in the car tonight & should be able to test drive it tomorrow after chasing one or more coolant hose leaks. I put silicon hoses on the car & the thin wall nature of these hoses make clamping a challenge. Ok, I give up, what is that 12 hole contraption above. It looks like a flux capacitor or the main drive in my wife's mixer. Whatever it is, I know it's illegal, possibly evil too.

It's designed to give and take in the traction arena and, at the same time, eliminate Croc from the competition; it's a turbine-powered Gatling gun. :smilielol5: . . . . . or a differential. Pick one. :jester:

Stewart, sounds like you are stepping up your game. :hurray: Next thing you'll be adding those little "cat whiskers" to help your aerodynamics. Sounds like our little gathering is bringing out the red Mist early. I just hope the track has enough 100 octane on hand to handle you big HP guys. :seeya: If I can't keep up with you guys on the straights I guess I'll just have to get some wider slicks to go faster in the turns. :driving: Tom
Kitcat
Here's an idea for those bringing wives: why dont you all go in on a single room (aka "suite") for day use. So if it is raining, sweltering, too noisy, etc., the wives have a much quieter, air conditioned place to hang out. Complete w/ a nice fridge, tv and wi-fi. And they wont have to submit to public toilets.
Klasik-69
Glad you're marriage is no longer in peril. Okay, what did you do transmission-wise; new, rebuild, etc.? My original tranny expert ended up fixing his mistake and got it back together so it appears to shift into all gears properly. However, today will be the first test drive if I finish hooking everything back up. Right now I'm in the process of buying a spare tranny. John @ Quantum Mechanics didn't respond on supplying one so I'm dealing with Paul @ First Motion in jolly ole England. For a beefed up and modified gear ratio T9, price will be about $2750 delivered to my door plus and import duty fees. And they wont have to submit to public toilets. I think that's a great idea and have kept my VIP suite at the track after reading your suggestion. I know my wife doesn't much care for public restrooms. Years ago, we were traveling from Ft. Myers to Miami thru the everglades and stopped at every bathroom we could find at every gas station along the way and NONE were acceptable. Well traveling thru the everglades doesn't exactly open up opportunities like the Ritz Carlton, more like John's Fish Camp. She'd walk in one and right back out, so we had our first real big marriage stress test that day. She forgave me for some of the things I had said under duress, like "you're lucky there's not an alligator in there so be thankful, or if you really have to take a P%$#, don't look at the seat". Occasionally, she reminds me how cruel I was that day.:ack:
Klasik-69
I just decided to give John @ Quantum Mechanics a call to see if he got my email and he had not. He says he can build the transmission I need and get the right gears from the UK to get me my ratios. I would rather deal with a USA source than shop overseas if it's possible. I know most of you guys speak very highly of him so we'll see if it works out.
