  1. Considering the rental cost, I feel like I did.
  2. In NC for a wedding and realized I am only 100 miles from the Tail of the Dragon (318 curves in 11 miles) http://www.tailofthedragon.com/ . The bad news is that I am in a rental car. The good news: it is a Camaro convertible. Not a 7, but acceptable. When we arrived at the Alamo office at 1am closing, the agent told us to pick a car. A new Camaro had just rolled off the delivery truck. Not bad for $210 a week.
  3. Simon's CSR should easily fit in the RV's basement.
  4. You going to have time for a little Caterham get together when you come over to pick it up?
  5. I don't see any 7s in the garage. Yet. A great area, just minutes from downtown Seattle. And a few hundred yards or so from Bill Gates' place.
  6. Always love hearing a good joke for the first time. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Hard to believe, but on Thursday, August 28th at 7:00pm (Pacific), the Science Channel show "How Its Made: Dreamcars" will feature Caterham. Until this I didn't even know there was a Science Channel. Or that my cable box goes up to 696.
  8. Prices are without drivetrain or assembly. Minor details that would have been helpful in the press release, especially since the engines are the article's main focus.
  9. Always good to learn something new.
  10. Regular medical insurance is pretty close to a "no fault" policy and generally covers all injuries, regardless of cause. Did they have a specific reason for only covering a small portion of your expenses (non-traditional treatment, out of country, too much massage therapy, etc)? If they did not give you a written explanation, it may be time to ask for one. To actually answer your question, HPDE insurance only covers physical damages to your car. Your best bet for medical is to have your car insured with a company that does not yet have a track exclusion. That way you are covered just like any other accident.
  11. Look for a Honda engineer to be sending out resumes. Soon.
  12. Cranky - Ask if you can get a specific exclusion for your 15 year old. That transfers the risk from the insurance company back to you.
  13. I believe there are just two companies selling track day insurance, Lockton and http://www.ontrackinsurance.com/index.aspx. They each have slight advantages and disadvantages. Check out both and decide which is a better fit for you.
  14. I buy it. For me the cost of the insurance is tolerable, the cost of replacing the car is not.
  15. My State Farm agent made a call to a knowledgeable person in the underwriting department and had my CSR policy in less than an hour. No hassles and a fair price. It may have helped that I have been a long time customer with a home and five other cars insured through them, though she now has insured two others local Caterhams and a Noble.
  16. We have a small group of Caterham owners west of the Cascades. Bruce, at Beachman Racing in Woodinville, tries to coordinate our track days and occasionally circulate semi-important e-mails. I believe several of us will be at Spokane this summer. Let Bruce or me know if you are interested in being added.
  17. PAR8HED (assuming that you are a Buffett fan).
  18. Any analysis may cause this thread to be moved to the Politics & Religion section.
  19. Did it sell to someone local?
  20. Was just driving home from dinner on a beautiful day, stopped at a light. A 50ish guy in a pickup next to us asked the usual questions we all get on a regular basis. He then looked over one more time and said "does it come with the cute lady in the passenger seat?". I cannot over estimate how happy that made my wife. So, what have been your favorite comments or questions that people have asked?
  21. I believe Jeffs is in NJ and reg'd his 500 about a year ago. Try sending him a message.
  22. When Superformance became the new US distributor, they appeared to actually look at this forum and make occasional comments. Now we have a thread that directly pertains to them, giving a great opportunity to answer questions and concerns, and not a word. While they have no obligation to us, it would be nice and maybe even a good practice in case potential customers are reading this.
  23. Well, they kind of build a 160 http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/top-gear-builds-a-caterham-160-2014-5-16
  24. I wonder if anyone really knows who the "typical" Caterham buyer is. Mainly bought for the track or blats on sunny days? A little of both? Kind of hard to tell what type of buyer Caterham is trying to target since we haven't really seen much of a marketing campaign yet.
