Weahter did look bad up in that area. But thankfully it was sunny and near perfect mid 70s most of the weekend. We will be doing this again in the future. Maybe next time. -

Cold mornings but perfect by 10.30 or 11 mid 70s and sun shining. -
No wonder its taking so long to build that car. You are always on here making fun of your host for the last 2 months. Just for the record 7evin was a sick twisted freak before I ever met him. He is just trying to justify his insanity by blaming me so that when his wife gets the CC statement he isnt in as much trouble. Dont worry bud I got your back. Now get off the computer and get back to work. I want my shop back.

Yeah that calculator shows Mojito in the mid 9 range. That would have to be in a perfect world. I would really like to get a set of drag radials just to see what the car could do. MT et Street is a bad a** tire. Alot of mustangs run in the 9s and 10s on that tire. It is a radial tire instead of a true drag slick but they seem to hook well on the cars that I have seen run them. I have a buddy with a 72 chevy Luv that has a 474ci small block that dyno 780hp. He runs those tires and it hooks amazingly well. A little spin but nut much.

I found this performance calculator online. I plugged in numbers that I felt pretty sure about. It is fairly close. It is fun to mess around with.http://www.golenengineservice.com/html/calculators.html

You can follow on http://www.onelapofamerica.comthey post the results daily. But a day behind. I will follow along and keep everyone posted as the week progresses. I will meet Kevin and Michelle his co driver this year at TWS and get a load of info to report on. There is a blog section on our website http://www.organicracing.com We have tried to update it from the road in the past and it is really difficult to do but, I think they are going to give it a try we will see.

I have run at the local strip with Mojo when I first built it when it was NA. on street tires the best I ever got was 12.7 at 119mph. Wheel spin pretty bad thru first 2 gears. 60' times 2.5 indicating alot of wheel spin 119 trap speed indicates high 11 possibility with drag radials. Brian Anderson ran drag slicks at R&G 3 years ago with a stock s2k and ran 11.88 which I think is very good run nut much left in stock form. Mojito should run mid 10s with proper tires. I have had several 10 second drag cars and my seat of the pants tells me Mojito has 10 sec possiblities. We did do a 0-100-0 run with the Vortech unit on Mojo via a very unscientific method, speedometer and stop watch. It ran a 10.9- 11.2 range on street tires. I was hoping to get Mojito to the drag strip this friday but Kevin has to take the car to TWS for a fri sat sunday test and tune session. Mojo was only at the drags 1 time with the supercharger and I blew the rear end on the 1-2 shift and ran 14.59 coasting across the line.

We just purchase this camera and I used it this weekend it is great. The picture quality is great. It is easy to use and best feature is a wireless remote that attaches easliy to the dash. Just hit record/tag/stop it has built in screen so you can adjust camera angle. It is water proof so you dont have to panic if bad weather pops up. http://www.vio-pov.com/ -
finished Mojito friday night at 6 pm now sunday 9 pm with 475 miles. Yeah 4 weeks from now we should have about 5000 on her. One lap starts ay 4th.

Well you have us beat badly in the torque department. but we are close to the Hp numbers. But you still have us bit there. I am sure 7evin would love to meet you at a track to see how they compare. We just got home from the tour everything went very well with only a clogged fuel filter to spoil the fun for us for about 15 min. But no other issues at all. The car ran great for all 450 or so miles. Not bad for a intial shake down run. A good time was had by all. We will write up a story this week and post the happenings. Loren

Welcome aboard Todd and very cool wife. I finally will be getting my wife in the car for her first extended trip this weekend. I hope she enjoys it as much as I do so I dont have to burn so many kitchen passes in the future.

We took Mojoito for the first drive tonight. Whew man that is one very fast car. The power band is very wide compared to before. The car is very solid without any rattles or squeeks. The extra time 7evin spent double paneling and foam filling the sides really paid off. Not to mention the Rhino liner makes a good sound deadner. This car is going to be a real pleasure to drive. We really like the new Hushpower muffler. It is reasonable at cruising speed, but wakes up and talks to you when you lower the hammer. We are working feverishly to get the car finished up for the tour tommorrow.

Well we are now legal to terrorize the streets. Now have insurance, inspection, and vehicle registration. Man I love Texas. 2 hours from start to finish.

Sweet! very clean nice job.

WCM has body panels. He is redesigning the chassis for more substansial power. I dont think there is a full kit available, but I think he is selling the fiberglass parts. You will have to contact Brian for more info.

Wheels are Team Dynamics 1.2 17x8 and 17x9 They are made in the UK takes about 6 weeks about 800.00 per set. The 17x9 is 18lbs 17x8 17lbs Bob we put an STI differential in this year. It is a little beefier than the standard WRX. We shall see how it handles the extra power. Cryo treatment might be needed.

I know of a certain XI underconstruction that has an LS1 in it. It fits just barely. It will have a quick change rear end and Tremec 5 spd. Hood will need a slight bulge.

I went to the Tommy Avalha school about 5 years ago. That man is amazing on a bike. So is Geoff Arron. I love that sport but dont have the time or money to do sevens and trials. Most of the trials events are 5-7 hrs away just makes it hard to attend 2 day events. There is a core group of about 30 riders here in Texas but it has been hard to make it grow. I can enjoy a seven any day I want.

Small world I had a Fantic and latest was a GASGAS 280 pro I have been getting the bug for the new 4 stroke Scorpa now that my son is riding motorcycles.

I have had a few guys ask about the itenerary. It is going as follows Friday 11th arrive at hotel and check in. I will imagine we will gather at the hotel some my decide to go out and eat depends on arrival time. No real set plan for friday night. I will have route maps to hand out on friday night. Saturday morning we should leave around 8 am to get the route done and back in time to clean up and go to dinner at Momacitas at 6;30 OR 7:00. Sunday morning I would like to leave again around 8 am and drive to Luckenbach to take a group photo. Harold Pace from Pace productions is going to be attending the event to write a story for Kit Car builder. So make sure your ride is nice and clean for the pictures.

I would have to agree that there is a difference between manufactures. Slicks especially do not have as stiff of a sidewall.
-
I would have to agree with everyones replies. I run 20 rear 19 in front. My car seems to really respond to tire pressure. If I have over 20 in the front I start to develope a push or understeer. I have run as low as 15 testing but didnt see much of a difference going that low. I suspect with that low a pressure a pot hole could damage a rim. Another benefit of lower tire pressure it makes the car ride much smoother. I had a new set of tire put on a Discount tire they put the usual 38 psi in the tires. When driving home there is a very rough paved road. It was all I could do to keep the car on my side of the road. Got home dropped the pressure and it rode and tracked just like it was supposed to.
