Anyone using Honda S2000 engine
WestTexasS2K replied to BusaNostra's topic in General Sevens Discussion
All of us Ultralite owners run S2000 drive train. ( well there a few odd balls out there, busa, miata) but majority 70+ of them are S2k units. I will do my best to answer any questions you have. -
Jerry that is the way I have to do it. I just cant get the pedals just right to use my heal. So I blip mine by rolling my foot onto the gas works quite well for me.

Just beautiful shots. I am jealous, I wanted to go on that trip so bad it just isn't possible to leave for a month. I am surprised that you only have 4 cars. I was sure there would be at least 20. Oh well hope you enjoy the rest of the trip and keep us updated so we can live vicariously thru your adventure.

WestTexasS2K replied to mrivera's topic in Seven Videos
 Man that sucks!! I am glad to see you walk away all in one piece. Twisted metal can be replaced, 7s enthusiast cant. I am feeling your pain as well. Kevin is bringing my car back tommorrow that hit the wall. He sent some better pics and I am afraid we are in for a new frame as well. We shall see in the morning, we will be pulling of the skin and taking some measurements and see what happens. -

What other projects have you had?
WestTexasS2K replied to WestTexasS2K's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Been out of town for family reunion so havent had time to check the post. I figured Keith would have a few intresting projects on his resume. I really like the black miata it look like a real terror. I have to agree again with Keith I really love the old Alfa's I do not know much about their mechanicals but I always liked the looks of them. By the way Keith I painted the Z in a barn so garage jobs can come out nice but they usually need a good wet sand and polish to get the dirt and bugs out. -
I thought it would be interesting to see what other monster creations the guys on the site have built. I will post some of my latest projects from the past few years. 76 datsun 280Z http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/739433688_DSC00124.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforu

m/upload/380722989_DSC00118.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1711740663_DSC00095.JPG This is a few pics I have of a truck we did for a 16 yo kid with cancer. It was a kind of hometown Overhaulin. The truck was donated by my nephew it was a 90 Chevy SWB with 230k miles. I dont have any good photos with my digital camera but you get the jist. Some of the guys from the Ultralite group donated to the build. Along with local businesses from the community http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/295263170_DSC01309.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1575368372_DSC01350.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1831254038_DSC01347.JPG My lead designer http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1142379453_DSC00853.JPGhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1633084875_DSC00956.JPG

I posted in another section that people that come in contact with Kevin aka 7evin usually become rather twisted. Well these guys live just down the road from Kevin in GA. Obviously they don't live far enough to escape Kevins influence. They bought this old ford F150 that is lifted about 10" with 44" super swampers. They took a large stump and chainsaw and carved out the largest set of truck nuts you have ever seen. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1009534542_truck nuts.jpg

Tail of the Dragon - LEO Presence
WestTexasS2K replied to Al N.'s topic in General Sevens Discussion
Dont get me wrong I am all for enforcing laws on those that are breaking the law. Just like every law enforcement agency give a little cushion 5-7 mph. If you see wreckless driving then the person should be stopped and ticketed. But pulling people over just because they are riding a bike even when they are clearly going the speed limit not crossing the line. Like the video that is posted above. Then turning around and stopping the same person again and again and holding them up for 35-40 min and never giving a citiation is harrasment pure and simple. -

WestTexasS2K replied to Al N.'s topic in General Sevens Discussion
Man that is rediculous the way the THP is treating folks maybe someone should set up a video system showing thier speed and a forward and rear facing camera. If the cops stop you and give you a hard time for no reason it will be on film. Then post it on U tube and shame them into submission. I would make sure the AG had a copy of it too. -
Man that is a sweet z with a good engine combo. I guess there are a few of us here with varied taste.

WestTexasS2K replied to Al N.'s topic in General Sevens Discussion
7evin is a bad influence on all that come in to contact with him. He should be made to wear shirts with warning signs. The shirts should say "Caution loose nut in side". -
I see that I am not the only Z fan on the site. I sold mine to build the Ultralite. Mine was enhanced with a Big Block Chevy and 6 speed R230 rear end. It was fast in a straight line but not the same in the twisty bits as the Ultralite. But I still think about building another one. I have had 3 of them 2 with V8 conversions http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/838301616_z1.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/957334460_z2.jpg

I run the same rim size 17x8 but stager tire size 225/45/17 on front 255/40/17 on rear. I am fixing to try 275/40/17 on the rear. It is pushing it with an 8" rim but 9" are hard to find unless you custom order them.

Was looking at the Hoosier R6 or the BfGoodrich Gforce R1. The reviews from the R1 say that they turned faster laps plus they last a little longer. Still havnt decided for sure which one. Does anyone have any experience with the R1s? -

Oh come on Jeff. There may not be a next year. Take advantage of the moment. It is the most track time you can get for the money. Beleive me you will be saying. " Its my turn to go back out already?" Last year barely had time to put gas in the car. Last year I did 186 laps according to my data logger the tech session is really good. Plus we need as many sevens there as we can get. It really pisses the Cobra crowd off when we "bring full on race cars" as we were accused of last year. The garage tells the whole story. One end is all sevens the other end is all cobras, with a space in between. Its kind of like the little cars against the big cars. Of course I dont have to tell anyone here which cars held most of the fastest times. -
Yes that has a 3500lb 4" drop axle with electric brakes it alos has the break away intstalled. It should be about 6 weeks.
